Hi everybody!!!!

(Hi Dr. Nick). :lmao:

So time is flying by, isn't it? So I figured I better start a PTR for my F&W festival trip in October.

Here are some details.

I'm Danielle. :wave2:

Some of you know me. Love Disney. Love planning trips. Just love traveling overall.

So this trip is a big deal for me, because this is the very first time my BFF is going to Disney World! :woohoo:

We both love food. So we decided that the food and wine festival would be a perfect time to go! I have only been twice before during F&W, so I'm super excited. So who is the other player.

My best friend, Farrell.

Here she is looking adorbs at her shower.

And here we are a few years back on our New Years trip to Las Vegas.

Now, here is one thing you need to know about Farrell. We are totally opposite physically. I'm like 5'10" and she's like 5'1". Yup. We are definitely an odd pairing.

But we love each other anyway. Awwwww.......

So here's a little background on how Farrell and I became friends. She was hired into the company that I work at in 2006. She was hired to work for me, and we hit it off really well immediately. Very soon after she was hired, she transferred departments and so did I, but we remained good friends. It's one of those things where you meet someone and you just get along amazingly well. That's what it was like for us.

We have taken trips together before. We have gone up to Wisconsin Dells for long weekends (with many other friends), went to Las Vegas over New Years, and most recently, we went to the Dominican Republic for a week because that's where she got married last May. That was a great time.

So now we are finally coming up on our latest adventure together. I'm stoked, because she's never been to WDW before and I am excited to share my love of it with her.

Next weekend we will be hanging out to discuss our dining plans.

Our dates are October 7th - October 15th, 2011.

We have yet to book flights, but hopefully that's coming down the pipe soon.

We will be staying at POP for one night, the 7th, and then at the Beach Club Villas for the remainder of the trip. Thanks so much to my parents for letting us use the DVC to get prime location for the F&W festival!

We will also be visiting Universal for one day during the trip, because Farrell is a huge Harry Potter fan and really wants to see the new land. I'm down with that!

Up Next: Hopefully a tentative itinerary

I'm here too! (I should be studying for the GRE but people from my PTR keep posting their own PTRs! :sad2: :rotfl:)

I love your title-Disney wouldn't be what it is without the food! And I'm excited to find someone else staying at BCV. For as popular as it supposedly is, it's rare to find people that stay there. :confused3 Everyone picks the actual BC!

So jealous that you get to go visit WWoHP. I'm still trying to convince Mom on that for January.

Hi Gretchen!

I figured I had to get my PTR started sometime.

I love the BCV, but honestly I've only stayed there once before. Who knows why. :confused3

I hope you can get your mom to go to WWoHP in January. It's definitely worth the visit. I visited when I went to WDW in February.

I'm joining in!

Sounds like the both of you are going to have a blast together and can't wait to hear all your plans!

Hi Tanz!

Glad you're joining. Hopefully I'll have an update with plans this weekend. We're meeting to hopefully discuss some of them.

you leave the day we arrive. I cannot wait for it to get here even though I just got back on Monday. LOL

Oh, we'll miss each other by minutes!

I know, every time I get back from a trip I can't wait to go back.

I hope you guys had a good trip! I've been following your blog to find out. ;)

So Farrell and I spent some time together today hammering out some details regarding where we were going to be eating. Since this is Farrell's first time, I wanted her to make a lot of the decisions. The only thing I did was give her advice on places that I had mediocre experiences at.

This trip has been a few years in the making for us, so I was very excited to get started. Our first trip was planned in September of 2008, but due to some family issues, Farrell had to cancel, so I took my dad.

Then we planned again for October of 2009. A few other issues came up, so I went to F&W with my mom and dad.

In 2010, we didn't plan a trip because Farrell was getting married and we would all be spending a week in the Dominican Republic for her wedding.

Which brings us to now. We're closer to making this trip than any of the other ones, so I'm optimistic.

Here is what we came up with for dining.

Saturday October 8th - Teppan Edo @ 7:40pm

Farrell said this was a must do for her. We both love Japanese hibachi restaurants, so this is a natural fit for us.

Sunday October 9th - Boma @ 4:45pm

This is one of my favorites and Farrell told me that the food sounded really good. She loves to be adventurous.

Monday October 10th - 1900 Park Fare @ 8:20am

My favorite breakfast on property, and we both agreed that having a nice big breakfast on one day would be a great preface to touring the Food and Wine Festival in the evening.

Tuesday October 11th - Cape May Cafe @ 7:40pm

Seafood! We both love seafood, so this was a good choice for us. Plus, it's at our resort, so perfect location.

Wednesday October 12th - Mama Melrose @ 12:15pm

Farrell was really excited about this menu. The only time I've eaten there was a little underwhelming, but because it has been so long since I've eaten there, I figured giving it a try would be good.

Thursday October 13th - Biergarten @ 5:20pm

We have fun plans for this one. Have great German food, big German beers, and then head into the Food and Wine Festival to partake in the libations that are offered. ;)

Friday October 14th - The Wave @ 8pm

This is a new one for me. Farrell loved the idea of organic and sustainable food, as do I, so we figured we'd go for it.

That's all for now. Later on, I'll get started on our itineraries our counter service options.

Let me know your thoughts, and if you have negative / positive reviews about some of the locations.

That looks like a great list!!! We really like Mama Melrose when we ate there a few years ago. I had some kind of chicken pasta with a cream sauce that was very good. My dad had the regular lasagna which he liked and my mom had the chicken parm which she said was good as well!

For a first timer, you picked some good spots for sure!

Thanks!

I really wanted to make sure that since this was her first time, she would be eating in places that were memorable. At the same time though, I don't want to overwhelm her with too many things. I think it's a good balance.

Great ADR's! :thumbsup2 I'm not a big fan of Teppan Edo, but I seem to be like, the only one on the DIS who wasn't impressed by it! :rotfl: I love Mama Melrose, I'm kind of sad we're skipping it this year! Cape May is awesome!

Love the choices - they all sound great! :thumbsup2

Having never been I can't really offer any negatives/positives but we have booked Boma for dinner and 1900 PF for breakfast (if that helps!) so am glad to see them make your list.
