Day 2 – Sunday 24th October

So, morning finally came, and I woke up at 7am after a good night’s sleep. Mum & Erin were still asleep, so I showered, dressed then got them both up. By the time we had had a cup of tea and they had got dressed, we left the room at just after 830am. On arrival at the park, we paid 15 euros to park the car for the day. Ouch – that hurt! At least that would be the last time I had to pay for parking. We managed to get right at the top of the car park, so only had the 1 travelator to skip hand in hand down! There were plenty of people arriving, but we were in no rush today. First stop was Guest Relations to buy our Dream AP’s. I got the shareholder’s discount, which saved me 90 euros. The share buying had paid for itself already! So, 507 euros lighter, we decided to knock on the door of Salon Mickey for the first time. We didn’t have breakfast booked at the Premiere Classe, so were pretty hungry and in need of a cup of tea. It felt like we stood there for ages deciding who was going to knock on the door! “You do it,” “No, you do it,” “No you!” I felt a bit of a wally but thought to myself, no knocking, no entry! I knocked, and we were soon greeted by a very nice (and handsome!) CM, who welcomed us in. He told us we could have two things each off of the table and help ourselves to drinks. We had a croissant and a cookie each and ventured inside. Oh my, it is nice in there! It became our haven for respite from the crowds almost every day. Erin and I had an OJ each, and then Mum and I had a cup of tea. We sure did feel important! I explored the pictures and the fireplace and made sure I went to the bathroom, as I remembered from the boards, it’s the best loo in town! I took Erin with me (and this is probably a little too much information!) and I must confess to us both having done a little dance in the loo it was that big! Plus, I was so happy to be back!
I think we left shortly before ten and picked up a park map and programme. I know I didn’t take many notes today, so I’m working from memory. We walked up Main Street and duly noted the massive crowds! First stop was a walk through to see the dragon. She was well and very lively, and we cut through up to the shop. We had a walk around Fantasyland (without going on anything it was that busy) then back to Central Plaza for the 1150am Disney Villain’s showtime. It really is my favourite show. I love the songs and think Dr Facilier is a welcome addition. I’m not so fussed about Cruella though. Her ‘voice’ grates on me somewhat! We stood to the left hand side of the podium so we had a chance of sweets after the show finished! The view wasn’t particularly wonderful, but if I stood back about 5 feet, I could see everything. Erin took a bit of a dislike to Jafar when he was dancing on our podium. She has this habit of putting her fingers in her ears when something is loud or she’s nervous. Jafar saw this and he pointed at her, put his hands out to the side as if to say ‘What are you doing?’ put his fingers in his ears and shook his head! I thought it was hilarious! She got down from the bench she was stood on, and hid behind me until he went! When the show had finished, all 3 of us did indeed get DES BONS BONS. Little packets of sour haribo. I liked them very much! I had scoured the restaurant reviews on the boards for at least a month, and had booked the Steakhouse Sunday brunch in the village due to it’s good reviews. The table was booked for 1.30pm, so around 1230pm, we slowly walked back up Main Street. I bought Erin a new autograph book and Pluto pen ( I forgot to pick her one up from home, but got a 20% discount with the AP) in the shop next to City Hall, and ventured out to the village. We got to the Steakhouse around 120pm and were greeted with a glass of champagne and shown to our table. I will do a review on the appropriate thread when I get a chance. It was busy. I liked it, but thought the choice for the food was not that extensive, and the dessert choice was over extensive! Can’t win with me! I was driving but Mum took full advantage of the all you can drink wine. She came out rather tipsy! Character interaction was fairly good. We saw Pluto, Minnie, Eeyore and Tigger. We left full (and some of us drunk!) about 3pm. We walked back to the park and caught the 410pm New Generation show. A really great show also. I can’t stop singing ‘You’ve got a friend in me’ even now! Plus there was some real eye candy on stage in some of the backing dancers (for us Mums hahaha!). I’m sure we walked some more and finally Erin and I managed to do a few rides. We did the obligatory IASW which was a walk on, then Blanche Neige was showing only a 10 minute wait, so we did that. Last stop was Star Tours which again, was a 10 minute wait. By 815pm, most of the major rides were still showing plus 30 mins, Buzz showing 45, so we called it a day. We left the park at 830pm and walked up to get a burger at McDonald’s. I shouldn’t have been hungry having had a buffet for lunch, but I don’t eat all I can eat, so I was a bit peckish! McDonald’s was also HEAVING! Queue lines…well there weren’t any! I queued for at least half an hour! It was hot and nice though, and by 930pm we were on our way back to the hotel. We were back at the hotel by 10pm, and asleep by 11pm.

:lmao::lmao: at your tipsy mum!

we did a fair old bit of wandering around on our only weekend day in the parks too, because it was so busy - I need a plan of action for next time.

It wasn't the only time she was half cut during the holiday as you will find out if you read the rest when I get around to it! Due to her state she avoided any rides that day! I know what you mean about an action plan. A LOT of our time was in certain respects, wasted. But I would rather catch the shows time and again, than queue half an hour plus for a ride that lasts 2 minutes! You really needed to stay past 830pm to do anything.

Funny that about Mums...I've never drunk so much at Disney than on this visit with my Mum!

Thanks for the TR!:)

Why is McDonalds always heaving!!?? It seems like lines are always out the door!:eek:

I know what you mean! Probably because it's the cheapest thing to eat there. I think it was something like 6e30 for a large big mac meal. I could be wrong on that but it was just over 6euros.
