Anybody been?
My youngest is 6, autistic and obsessed with dinosaurs. So we would definitely spend some time there. Anything else there worth looking at? I believe that I might have visited back in the 70s, but I'm not sure.

There is a LOT worth looking at at the Museum.

The gems collection is outstanding. They also recently opened an outdoor garden area but I haven't seen that yet.

Museum is awesome. He might like the La Brea Tar Pits as well.
Those were also considered. But we're gonna tackle this part of the trip AFTER we're all done, and then head to visit friends in Riverside, before we drive home the next day, so we don't want to spend a lot of time at both. And we gave my son a choice, and he would rather see the dinosaurs.

He chose wisely. Do note, that you could spend days in that museum and not see it all. But the dinosaurs are a highlight. Have fun!

Bonus: the California Science Center is right next door (and free!) so if you get done early with the Natural History Museum you head on over there. Between the two museums you will have more than enough (maybe too much) to see and do.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm really looking forward to the vacation!
