Dvcnews.com is reporting that the official name is out for the California resort:

The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Resort and Spa

That's all I needed to hear; I'm buying in. My one worry was that Disney would have one DLR DVC, with future additions getting the 11-month window at the Grand Californian. But the name seems to preclude that.

Besides, the "Villas at" title is just cool.

"Villas at" is fine to me. I hate that the hotel will now be called the Grand Californian RESORT. Why couldn't they just add it to the current name and call it "The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel And Spa". Just becuase they add some time share units its suddenly a resort? Not saying that its only a hotel, but whats wrong with calling them Villas AT a Hotel?

Sorry, Disneyland is my home park and to me, we only have one resort, the Disneyland Resort. It always seemed odd having the Walt Disney World Resort having a zillion other "Resorts" part of the Resort. Should have kept the name loyal to how we have been naming things here for over 50 years.

I'm with you Salmoneous,

I can hardly wait to be a proud owner of Villas at Disney's Grand California Resort and Spa!

Soon, please. It'd be so cool to stay there next April for their Food & Wine Fest.

Deb
