The MyPublisher Hard Cover photos I promised!

Hi guys!

Don't know if you remember but I ordered some soft cover albums for Christmas from mypublisher.com and I was not impressed. The bindings all came apart on all the books and I was so mad.

After reading comments about the hard cover books on this board, I decided to give them another chance with the hard covers.

I sent in the pages for Tzar's ABC album, chose the black leather 9x12 hard cover album and it turned out great!! It took 10 days from the time I uploaded it to the time FedEx dropped it off at my door which is decent for the amount they charge for shipping to Canada!!

This may be a dumb question, but how did you get the pages to have those backgrounds? It looks wonderful! When I had mine done I was only able to chose the photos to put in and captions. Please tell me what I was missing, I'd love to do another one, thanks!!

i would also like to know the answer to that. I would love to do a book as a present for someone special, but would like to have the backgrounds, not just white!

The background stuff you are talking about are digital layouts I have created in Photoshop. If you do a search on Google for digital scrapbooking you will find tons of free stuff and info all about it, including all the different programs you can use to create stuff very similar and even better than the stuff I created!

Love your book...it turned out GREAT.

I just checked out the mypublisher site....and have a couple questions for you. After looking over their sample album pages...I finally found one that had printing to the edge like in your book...but theirs was just of a single photo....did you do your digital lo's, save them to your computer...then upload the layout like one photo? ....Is that how you were able to get "your" backgrounds and whole layout printed on a single page?

Oh...I also noticed there having a special right now....where when you order a book...they'll send a second one for FREE Great deal...if your thinking of doing a gift album...like I was.

Yes, I create my layouts in Photoshop, save them as a high quality JPG and then upload it to mypublisher.

One of the reasons I went with mypublisher is because it's the only one I can find that has full bleed, which means it goes right to the edge of the page. Shutterfly has a huge white margin on each page and half the page is margin instead of your photo.

I used the code to get one album free, although you still have to pay for shipping which is $15 US to Canada but it was worth it, they turned out great!

Cass this is gorgeous. You are making me want to try doing this with my Surprise Hawaii trip. But we came back with 200 photos. I wish I was more computer savvy though. I think it would be worth it to put my favorites from the trip in one. As usual great work.
