The Murphy's are LIVE from the Beach Club!! August 4-11 Come join us!!! :)

Been at SAB this afternoon. Beautiful day , apparently we just missed Dick Vitale. He is staying at the yacht club and came down to the pool and went down the slide. Sorry we missed him!!! I talked to a couple of CM's about the renovations. All the kids activities and music have already been moved down to the kiddie pool and will stay there until the construction is done. She said approximately mid December. she said the new hurricane Hannah's will have more seating, a huge bar, bar stools, flat screen TVs, etc. she said she saw the drawings and it looks incredible!!!

Thanks for the updates...sounds like youre having a great time!
I just want to make sure I'm reading this correctly...HH will be closed til mid December?

Mugs are new as of last winter. Hot pink is my favorite. And there is also a turquoise , I'm sure someone on the mug thread has pics.

There's a mug thread??

Hopefully if you guys are headed to a park tonight crowds will be low, wishing I was there!!!

That is what she said. Then I replied back something about coming back in January and she said it should be done by then but you never know for sure.

Thanks for the updates. I'm having such fun following along. I am a bit bummed that HH won't be open when I visit in Oct. Did the CM say if there would be an alternative? Maybe they'd open that little lounge to run drinks out of? :confused3. I do like a frozen beverage on a hot afternoon, but not the end of the world.

Glad you guys are having fun! Thanks for sharing your trip! :)

She said the pool servers would still be operating but going inside to get the drinks. Also over on the Yc/bc thread Teena said a temporary food and drink location would be setup somewhere. I'm guessing Ariel's or Marthas Vineyard. I can ask tomorrow and find out. :)

Erika, Really enjoying your live report. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. It is so much fun experiencing your vacation with you.

If you can remember what the hot appitizers were in the CL the last few nights. You wrote what they were your first night Chicken on a stick and Pot Stickers. I am so excited about our very first visit to the Beach Club as well as a Epcot resort.

Tonight was bacon wrapped scallops and some kind of potato and peas pastry. Last night was crab Rangoon and another puff pastry. I would best describe it as Gordon's Food Service or Sam's Club type frozen foods. They also have some assorted cheese and crackers and a few raw vegetables. The only thing my kids like are the chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon and the peanut butter and jelly at night. Lol ;) Personally I haven't eaten anything down there this week I would say tastes good. I love to cook, and I hate frozen food so its just isn't my cup of tea. I miss the days when the chefs from the resort restaurants would prepare the food. They use to have amazing things.

From Allears.net: "Hurricane Hanna's is closing August 8 for an extensive renovation. A reopening date has not been announced yet."

You'll have to let us know if there is an alternate food location near the pool. Loving all your pictures, especially the pictures of your boys. They are so grown up! Great pictures from your room too. How great to be able to watch wishes from your balcony!

That's definitely not correct. They must have decided to push the date back. I will ask around tomorrow and see if I can get a date. ;)

Thank you Erika, I appreciate your thoughts and honesty. I am seriously wondering if I made a bad decision on staying CL there at the Beach Club next month. Between your and some other posters thoughts on the lounge offerings and the problems with the rooms. :scared:

Hope you don't mind me piping in here. This is what I have been able to find out:

It sounds like the closing will happen towards the end of the month, not next week. Not sure of the exact date, but I think the last week in August, when guest attendance starts to slow down.

The inital plan is to offer packaged sandwiches to go near or in the arcade, hotdogs, drinks and other treats near Beaches and Cream and a Pool Bar with drinks sold at Poolside Gifts. There will still be wait service at the pool.

It will be a very extensive rehab, and I think the December end-date is accurate.

Yep, Stacy is still on tv with her top 7 must see attractions. :)

Mugs are new as of last winter. Hot pink is my favorite. And there is also a turquoise , I'm sure someone on the mug thread has pics.

This is the current refill mug design:
