The Murphy's are LIVE from BWI and BLT!! - January 6-13!!!

Good morning! :) We made it through our first full day at WDW! I have to say I have a new apppreciation for people in wheelchairs because it was torture for me. I was constantly worried we were going to crash into someone, especially in areas where the crowds are thicker. People have a tendency to walk at an angle and also change directions very quickly, I almost had a few folks in my lap at some points! :lmao: The biggest fear was someone running into my left foot because it's so sensitive to the slightest touch. So I was emotionally worn out my the time we left MK! :worried:

Crowds weren't too bad in the morning but as usual got worse after lunch. Belle was up to 80 minutes when we left so we never ended up taking the kids to see that. We did however get a FP for Mermaid. :thumbsup2 As far as the wheelchair goes the kids were disappointed my pain didn't get them any FOTL access except for BTMRR. I think they were hoping Mommy's injury might turn out to be a benefit, but every ride we encountered just had wheelchairs going along with everyone else. I never noticed just how ramp friendly the lines are.

I uploaded some pics from yesterday, everything is on that photobucket album link I posted earlier.

I have to report that our whole family was extremely disappointed with the new Test Track. The building is beautiful and the interaction you get before and after the ride were fine, but the ride itself was majorly disappointing. First of all the cars we created weren't the cars they kept showing us at each testing station. But even with that aside, there isn't anything "happening" on the ride. There is a voice that is telling you things about your cars performance but we missed not having any physical effects. Basically its just the old ride's track with everything taken away and lights added. Afterwards the kids said they felt like they just rode a commercial for Chevy. LOL Out of the mouths of babes! ;)

Just noticed last night the ESPN club arcade is gone. It looks like the Boardwalk Bakery is taking over that spot to expand. The pizza window and seashore sweets are both still open. The main theme pool is open as well.

Oh, forgot to report on last night's lounge. The 2 hot items were crab rangoon and some type of spinach pastry. These are the same as the as the ones YC/BC has. Was hoping for something different over here at the BWI just to shake things up, but no big deal. We had an amazing dinner at Hacidenda... started with chips and guacamole, then had the taco trio appetizers, then the shrimp taco dinner, all were very good! Plus the added bonus of Illuminations to end our meal. :) For dessert we grabbed some goodies from the Karamel Kuche... chewy caramel bar for me, yummmm :lovestruc

Not sure what we will do today, we might go to AK. Tonight is dinner at Crystal Palace. Pics coming up next!

No to-go cups out. Not even for coffee or for water/soda.

Ha! Ha! You have to know the secret password to get the special to-go cups. Just ask Anita, Jackie, Linda, Scott, or Lorenzo, and they'll help you out.

Actually I prefer them not being out. It feels more like a real lounge and less like a grab n go. At BC in August the lounge felt like a food court. Lol

No wheelchair today!!! I took two Aleve and I'm going to tough it out. Hopefully I don't regret it later.

Wow - that is a beautiful day! While the news regarding Test Track is not the best, I always appreciate these reports because it helps us know what to expect. Do you like your room location? Did you request courtyard or boardwalk, or not make any requests?

We've noticed that asking the CL CMs for anything at BWI is super easy and entirely comfortable - they are always willing to help and would often go above and beyond our requests.

Continue to enjoy and hope you feel OK walking. Thanks for bringing us along!

Looks so pretty!! Much better than the melting snow out my window. :lmao:

Enjoy your day and thanks for telling us all what the offerings are at the CL.

Plenty of Christmas decorations still up as well as Christmas music.

I did not make any requests this time around, I just really didn't feel that strongly about any particular location. This room is in a good spot. Close to the lounge, but not too close, plus a decent view. :)

All the CMs here are great, they are very friendly and helpful. I love Pete, he said I can come live with him and his wife in Celebration so I don't have to go home. ;) ha ha

Did you guys see my tweet today about the girl in the lounge with a bikini on and no cover up???? I couldn't believe nobody said anything to her. And she wasn't a child, probably in her 20's. It looked like she was sitting with her mother. Super uncomfortable situation and sort of gross. :sad2:

I have so many things I want to tell you guys about today! :) First of all I want to give a plug for the new Disney app called "My Disney Experience" because it actually works! :rotfl: It allows me to see my dining reservations as well as search for park info and look at what's around me. Definitely a step above the older Verizon Mobile Magic. Give it a try next time you come down. :thumbsup2 Basically it shows you anything you have previously set up on the website from home, your custom avatar (I'm Minnie) as well as your plans and reservations. I think this is still a work in progress, obviously the website has a LOT of bugs still in it. But if they can finally get it working it's going to be cool.

Next up... you are probably aware that Disney has a new room charging system where you just tap your room key and enter a PIN number that you created at check-in. Well they changed the rules again, now instead of only entering your PIN for purchases over $50 you must enter your PIN every time. I think this was a good decision on Disney's part... I know if I lost my room key I'd be freaking out about someone charging stuff on it.

Park tickets!!!!! Man this is a mess at the entrance gates. There are CMs standing everywhere trying to direct traffic as best they can to get all the people who have their park ticket on their room key in one location. As a rule of thumb it seems to usually be to the right. We have annual passes so we don't go through those lines. But I have noticed they are shorter and faster, so if you have paper tickets I'd advise adding them to your KTTW cards. According to the CM we spoke with almost any kind of ticket can be added to your room key. He said unless the ticket is 4 or 5 years old or older, those they do have trouble adding. But if it's a more recent ticket they can run a check on it and get it added. I think this would be worth doing because you will save time at the gate. :thumbsup2 Us poor Annual passholders are stuck going to the left for now. :rolleyes1

I hope you did ok without your wheelchair today!

I actually did better than I thought I would until tonight. I was really struggling to make it back here after Wishes. :( I think tomorrow I better take the wheelchair again because I'm worried I might mess up my healing process. It stinks! :sad2:

The new version of the castle projection show at MK is amazing! WOW they have really stepped up the effects ... the colors are so vivid, there are tons of classic characters as well as newer ones like Brave... I loved it. :) We were totally geeking out about Wreck It Ralph! :thumbsup2 Don't miss this show either before or after Wishes! Totally awesome!!!!!!!!!

Dinner with Pooh was great as usual! We had quality character time and decent food. I think I had 3 servings of the squash with brussel sprouts! LOL :lmao: Man it was so delish!!!!!!!! I usually hate buffets but that squash was worth it. :goodvibes

Let's see... what else was I going to tell you... OH! I remember!! Our youngest son Connor finally rode ToT for the first time! He was scared while we were in line but he was a tropper and made it through. :) Some idiot sitting behind us started yelling "We're gonna die!!!" and he started crying a little bit but I was able to turn it around and get him to open his eyes and see the amazing view. We really didn't accomplish much other than that at the Studios today. We walked around, had ice cream, went in some shops, watched Mulch Sweat and Shears, went to see our friends at the Tune In Lounge ;) and then headed back to the BWI.

Let me get some pics to share :)

Dang, I don't know why Photobucket isn't uploading my pics in numerical order. :( And I don't know how to fix it. Sorry these are all messed up.

MK tonight, and Studios today:

Normally I don't take pictures in the lounge because I feel like people will think I'm insane ;) but there wasn't anyone in there so I took a couple tonight when we got back:

Thanks for the updates - love the photos!

Your report continues to reminds me of how much I love the Innkeeper's Club. I think our three boys would DEFINITELY move in with Pete if offered the opportunity! They just love him.

Wreck It Ralph projection on the castle? Wow - glad we have that on the schedule later this month. Our youngest is a HUGE Wreck-It-Ralph fan - he's going to be thrilled.

Wish we could get our APs on the room key - sounds like that would be the way to go, if it was possible. But I do love having APs, so I'll just be prepared to explain why others get that shorter line!

Good to hear about the mobile "Disney Experience." We'll give it a try when we're there. (I'm Minnie, too.)

No way on the bikini!

Hope you're feeling OK today and continuing to enjoy! :)
