Anyone know the date that the Mummy is due to open? We are off over to Fla. on 10 April. According to Universal it will be open Spring - any set date?

Just back from US and IOP last weekend. We were waiting on the Mardi Gras parade to start and several of the CM's stated an anticipated "soft opening" possibly as early as the next couple of weekends. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'm beginning to believe the May 16th opening date on Universal Excitement is probably correct.

Orlando kids get out of school on the 25th, so that would give them a week to get things ironed out.

Ok never done a soft opening at Universal, is everyone allowed on or just pass holders generally...any info helps..thanks!!!

In Tech Rehersal mode, anyone who wants to go on can, but if it closes early, then that's it. The best mindset is to go expecting it not to be working. That way if you do get to ride it, you can enjoy it more.

DM, I know that they won't be using express pass during tech rehearsals, do you know if the single riders line will be used or do we need to go through the regular line.

That I don't know. I'd say it has a high probability, but we wont know until then...

Well 2 nights of employee previews and it sound like it is awesome. There are still work that needs to be completed. Sounds like there is some syncing problems, missing items. From people talking to workers there they are saying that it should be soft openings on May 6 and grand opening around the 20th May. I guess I will still hang around the area from time to time a see if they will do a Tech Rehearsal with guests though. I would like to see it how it is now, missing stuff and then when everything is working.

They have also said that the que is super long about 3 hours worth in the building alone. If I see people outside the building, I'll be walking away then.

The Single Riders Line WILL be open during TR.

Getting excited!!! Will be at RPR May 29-May 31. First time staying on-site (only second time to US since IOA opened) - looking foward to using FOTL to help us. Last time we were at US -also a Memorial Day weekend - we were fortunate to have complimentary VIP tour at US (awesome way to go - especially when free) so we tolerated lines at IOA. Will we be able to use FOTL for Mummy? I hope so...

Thanks for all your replies!! We're off in 12 days to I'll report back and let you know if the Mummy is open and if it lives up to expectations! Can't decide between RPR or HR. Stayed at HR several times and love it but think we should have a change?!?!

Debs- I'm pretty sure Mummy won't be open when you visit the park. My guess (and it's only a guess) is that that'll be around the time they put the final touches on the ride and installing the animatronics which aren't in the ride yet. But, you never know.
