Well seeing as we are going on monday I thought I would write my ptr (a little late lol)
The cast:
Me (Sammie) 26 - Disney mad, have been to DLP once when I was at school so I am guessing that was around 12 years ago :scared1: Have been to WDW 4 times the last time being for our Honeymoon 4 years ago!

DH (Craig) 28 - Also Disney mad especially for buzz lightyear (but not as much as me!) he has never been to DLP and has been to WDW twice.

DS (Chester) 2 - Disney mad (well with parents like us what do you expect? :rotfl:) he has never ever been to and Disney, so I am mega excited for him!

My Sister (Sarah) 23 - Disney mad and theme park mad, has never been to DLP but has been to WDW 3 times.

My sisters bf (Luke) 23 - Not really Disney mad, infact I think he has a shock coming to him when he sees how excited we all get :rotfl:

I deffo think I am the most excited out of everyone I am such a big kid! I can not believe we are actually going to Disneyland on Monday :banana: we are getting the Eurostar from Ebsfleet early on monday morning but it is not direct so we should be at DLP a just after 11. We are staying in Cheyenne so my plan is to dump our bags at the luggage storage at disney park (am i right in thinking I can do that?) and head straight in! we are only there for one night so really need to make the most of our time as only have 2 days in the parks.
I am driving Craig mad with all the planning! He just wants to get there and go with the flow! I have told him he is mad and will thank me for it when we get back! So I have spent every spare min of the last few weeks writing down every bit of information that I can find that will help us out! I have the parade and show times and have written up a rough timetable (sad I know! :rotfl2:)
I have now finished my packing and today I managed to get Chester a mickey mouse activity pack from Asda to keep him entertained on the way :yay: Chester has got a lightning McQueen Case as is sooooo pleased that we are taking it!
I brought myself a mickey mouse t shirt and a toy story document wallet (again craig thinks I am taking it all a bit to far!)
I should imagine that Sarah has not even started packing because although she will be just as excited as me right now she is very good at not showing it :rotfl:

I have spent the last 2 weeks letting Chester watch loads of old school disney movies/shows (his fave is proving to be Chip and Dale) and he has been looking at the brochure and saying we are staying at woodys house  soooo cute bless him! I really can not wait to see his face when we get there! Especially when we see toy story playland and cars race rally (I have shown him this on youtube and he just squeels with excitement!)

The only thing I am still worried about is that we still can not decide on where to have our one big meal. After lots of discussion we have all decided that there is no point wasting our time eating our main meal whilst the park is still open because that will loose valuable time. So our plan is now to snack (mainly Chester) during the day and then wait til parks have closed to have main meal in evening (I am not sure how well this will go down with Chester though because he will prob be very tired by this point!) Although I am still a bit unsure of this plan because I really wanted to try one of the buffet restaurants (I was swaying toward plaza gardens but craig was not sure if Chester would get bored).
So much to my annoyance that will prob be something we decide whilst we are there!

Sorry if I have rambled on a bit I am just sooooooo excited! I just hope there is no rain and that it is not to busy in the parks

:dance3: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :dance3:

Hope you have a great time.

We went in September and my DS had just turned 3, we ate at the Parkside Diner (buffet), Buffalo Bill show and Cafe Mickey. Joe was a nightmare at the buffet as he was bored silly and wanted to go as soon as he was finished... Much more relaxing at Cafe Mickey as he spent ages just watching what was going on with all the characters.

All kids are different but when we go back in March I will try to stick to places that have things going on, maybe Cafe Mickey again or Annettes or Rainforrest Cafe(not that I have been to the last two).

Sounds like you have a great trip planned!

I am a planaholic and plan my trips in Excel with links to what I want to do in each "land" and links to restaurant menus, hotel reviews etc, so I totally understand!!!

Our first family trip was with DD when she was 2yrs 11 months. We found that she was quite happy to snack in her buggy during the day while we were walking to/from different lands. We bought things in the shop by the train station on our way to the park. If he loves the Chipmunks then he should be happy - those cheeky chappies are always around!! I have a video of my DD dancing with one of them in Cafe Mickey :rotfl: when we were there for breakfast.

We found that she wasn't too keen on sitting nicely for too long so we didn't get to eat lots in the buffets. She loved the characters though and really enjoyed the character meals. I agree that you wouldn't want to waste park time when you are there for such a short time, however, if it's going to be cold or wet then perhaps a meal may not be such a bad idea? A chance to warm up/dry off? (Not sure what the weather forecast is?)

Maybe give Lucky Nugget a try? I know it has had mixed reviews on here and I've not been personally but there would be characters there, I think it's a buffet so should be something to suit everyone and it would be free for your DS. Or Pizza Planet? It's the cheapest buffet restaurant, pizza, pasta & salad, I think there is a big Slinky dog in there so it may be enough to amuse your DS long enough for you to eat something?

I found the Aqua Doodle travel mats great for entertaining DD at mealtimes. I always take some sort of colouring too. Cafe Mickey is fab (as long as he likes the characters!) if you're thinking of an evening meal. Does your DS still have a nap?

Ohhhhh, so much to do, so little time!!! You sooooo need a plan! Happy planning! :goodvibes

You will have to go to the Cheyenne to collect your park tickets so you can leave your luggage in the Cheyenne - it will be free there and means you wont have to take it through security because if you leave at at the park luggage storage there is a charge and its outside the park entrance but through security.

Have a great time

I wish I had thought of using excel! What a good idea!

Yeah he does still have a nap but he is the sort of child that would happily miss his nap time if something more interesting is going on! Which in a way I think is good because it means we should have a good nights sleep :rotfl:
Glad to hear Chip and Dale will be easy to find because I think he is just gonna love them! I think we have all decided on cafe mickey now but I am gonna see how day 2 goes and try and squeeze in maybe a pizza planet?

I am sooooooooooooooooo super excited! This morning I took DS to cinema (its only a pound on sats) for the first time and we watched Tinkerbell he loved it! (so did I :rotfl:) but he kept asking where 'peanut pan' was?! I couldnt stop laughing!!

Thank you for this, I didnt realise that we would have to take the luggage through security. by the time we have done that we prob could of gone to Cheyenne and back :lmao: . because of the deal we got we booked our first day of park tickets seperatly so already have them but I am now thinking its gonna be best to check in first to see if breakfast in the park is available and to store our luggage for free. our train comes in to disney at 11.10 so do you think we could get into the parks by 12? I want to try and get in there as quick as we can so we dont miss out!

Another very excited Mummy here too :goodvibes

Sounds like you have a great trip planned, not too long to wait now  Have a great trip
