The Mr. the Mrs. and the Dining Plan–Our June 09 Disneymoon -**Naples 4/3/2010**

loving the updates!!! nothing like a non-busy day at the park!! i am not a fan of rain on regular days, but at WDW it certainly has its benefits!!
can't wait for more! :)
Yes I completely agree with your views about rain at WDW! :goodvibes It can be icky, it sure does have its perks!
I love your TR!

(And thanks for clearing up my Dining question!)

Mrs. Spratt
:thumbsup2 No problem & thanks!
Great Update! Hope you keep them coming.

I was visiting family in your fine state last weekend in Cary, IL
Are you serious??? My sister lives in Cary, we are there all the time! In fact we were there last weekend celebrating my brother's engagement!

I love DHS, looks like a hot day though. Isn't TSM fun, you really should go thru the standby line once, there are so many cute things to look at in there. Thanks for all the B&B pictures too, was it hot sitting in the sun watching from the bleachers?
Hi! Yeah, it was pretty hot sitting in those bleachers, but we are so used to it since we always go in summer. We rewarded ourselves by going on Little Mermaid which is nice and dark and cold!! :goodvibes
I just read through all 8 pages of your trip review!

I love the details that you give & will subscribe to the rest of your review...Congrats on your wedding - you make a very cute couple!:goodvibes

Can't wait for more....
:welcome: Thanks for finding me and I am glad you are enjoying it. You are too sweet!

Beauty & the Beast is by far my fav!
It really is the best..do you sing along to all the songs too?
Great update.

Love the pics of Beauty and the Beast, this is my fav Disney and I love the show.

Can't wait to read more :)
Beauty and the Beast is such a great show, and I think the soundtrack is one of Disney's best, if not the best one! :goodvibes
Looks like a fun day at DHS so far! I'm so excited to ride Toy Story Mania when we go in December. DH and I are thinking of buying the TSM game for the Wii when it comes out so that we can practice. That might be the only way for me to even have a chance of winning! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more. :goodvibes

They have a TSM game for the Wii??? I need that! Of course, getting a Wii first would be good, but I think I may be able to convince DH if he knew there was a TSM game for it...I could some practice too! :rotfl:

I am the same way about buzz vs toy story!! I can't figure out buzz for the life of me!

Wow! Love, love, love your trip report! Can't wait to for the next installment! We just booked a trip for Oct. 29th - Nov. 7th, we can't wait!:cool1: Reading your report is just making me all the more excited for our trip! Oh yeah, Congrats!!! I wish we would have gone to the World for our honeymoon!

Oh mi gosh, i think we are disney TWINS! We also live in IL and road-tripped to the World on our disneymoon! We try to get to Disney every year, and have gone back for our 1-year anniversary and will be returning in 15 days for my husband's bday! What part of IL are you from? We are in Darien. Loving your report! It's getting me excited for ours!!

Aww man! You guys have had some awesome disney magic going for your honeymoon! I can't wait to read more!

Oh yay, I'm getting in before you've gotten too far along! You two are an absolutely adorable couple! Congratulations on getting such an awesome upgrade, what a magical start to a honeymoon!

I guess there is some trick to it, which DH informed me of...it will be in an upcoming post. :goodvibes

Welcome! You are right, we sure do sound like Disney twins! Our plan is to go back every year for our anniversary too! :goodvibes We live in way up North near Gurnee. Where is Darien, I have always heard of it, but have no clue where it is on a map. :rotfl:

Hi! The magic is the reason we keep going back! They completely spoiled us on this trip though!

Thank you for finding my TR. I am glad you are enjoying it. More coming up soon!
Hi! Tuning back in for this.

Hi Mandy! I am glad you are joining in for this one! I remember you from the June Stalkers of 2007!! :goodvibes Time sure does fly!

We are so excited for our October trip! We are staying at the Ft. Wilderness Cabins for the first time. We are not doing the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. I just don't want to pay extra for the tickets. We have been to the Pirate Princess Party twice and loved it, but did it when we didn't have tickets for the parks that day. I guess I'm just cheap :rotfl:.

You're not cheap! Me & some girlfriends are doing it for our upcoming Sept trip and my husband said something to me like...you're paying $50 just to go to MK and stay 'til midnight? It was a tough call, but I had my reasons (and the F&W fest had something to do w/ it)

I know it's crazy, but hopefully it'll be worth it. I'll let you know!;)

HEY!!! I want more updates!! 10 days is really too long to have to wait :goodvibes

Don't be ridiculous! You aren't being cheap, especially in this economy! You are so lucky to be going so soon!! :goodvibes

Don't you just hate it when *real* life gets in the way of the DIS! I DO! :rotfl:

I apologize for the lack of updates lately...

School has started --that means I am back at work, not as a teacher, but rather as an aide/science teacher for the fourth grade class. They eliminated a section of fourth last year (which is what I taught) so I was left classroom-less. I am grateful that they asked me to stay in this position though. It is a paycheck and I am not complaining.

We are going on a mini vacation camping this weekend, but I will try and get an update up tomorrow...if not, definitely by Tuesday!

Again, so very sorry! Darn you *real* life!

June 24, 2009: Day Two, Part Two “But That Isn’t Mickey!!”

We made it to the Journey of the Little Mermaid and only had to wait a couple of minutes for them to open the doors. We were in the cool, dark theater in no time, and this show was just what we needed after sitting in the brutal heat of the Beauty and the Beast show.

I believe DH fell asleep during this show, or at least closed his eyes to most of it, but it was the second show starring a Disney Princess in a row, so I guess he had an excuse.

After the show, we checked the show times for Lights, Motor, Action, but they didn’t have too many show times going on, which I was kind of sad to see, I blame it on the recession.

Instead of Lights, Motor, Action we decided to walk through the Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream—which was something new for me. It was so neat to look through all the exhibits and history of Walt’s life. It really made me appreciate his vision even more.

Towards the end of the exhibit, I found my favorite newest Disney character!

Camera199.jpg

WALL-E!

We knew there was a movie at the end of the exhibits, but we really wanted to do Animation Studio and draw a character, and if we wanted to make our ADR at 50’s Primetime, then we had to skip the movie. Next time, I will definitely stay and watch the movie since I hear it is pretty good. Anyone who has never taken the time to walk though One Man’s Dream, must do so. It is a great part of DHS that I really never knew existed.

We walked over to the Animation Studio and knew that we couldn’t do the pre show with Mushu so we walked over to the Disney of Animation Store and asked a CM if we could just do the drawing class. He said we could and showed us the correct way. We walked in through the exit and saw there were quite a few people waiting for the next class.

While we waited we had fun playing the pre show game that is up on the TV screens. A computer draws Disney characters slowly and you have to guess which character it is. I wish I could play this game for money on a game show or something because I rocked at it! I got every single one right and very quickly too.

Also while we were waiting the nicest elderly woman in a wheelchair came over to talk to us when she noticed our bridal ears. She asked us about our wedding and our honeymoon and explained that she has been coming to Disney all her life and was there with her husband of 60+ years! Apparently he was talking it up with another family in line so we didn’t get to meet him. The funny thing was that she was also from Illinois and was also married in June. She was the sweetest lady and so full of life. We told her that our goal is to be married just as long as her and husband and still love coming to Disney just like them.

After about 15 minutes of waiting, the doors opened to let the next class in. I really didn’t think we were going to make it and I was getting anxious because the class was looking to be full. Honestly, I think when the CM saw our bridal ears, she let us go on in because we were the last two to be allowed in.

We had to sit in the front row and had drawing boards instead of a desk. When we walked in, we noticed that everyone in our row was utterly confused.

They were on their knees, using the bench as their table, and their backs were turned from the artist CM. You could imagine how ridiculous this looked. DH and I sat down the correct way, and once they saw that you were supposed to sit with the drawing board on your lap and face the CM, they all followed suit. It was so funny, it took every fiber in my body to not start laughing. I think they felt pretty silly too. :rotfl2:

I was beyond excited to find out which character we would be drawing. The CM started the class by telling us that the class before ours drew Goofy, and he wanted to draw something different. He asked if we would like to draw Stitch, and nearly everyone booed and opposed his decision. I think everyone didn’t like the Stitch wake up calls. The CM was taken aback by the response and asked if we would rather draw Pluto, everyone was happy with that decision. The CM then said something about feeling bad for poor Stitch since we was so unwanted.

So with the decision made, the CM started to show us step by step how to draw good ol’ Pluto. I really loved this and I couldn’t believe I had never done it before. It was so much fun, especially for someone like me, who is NOT an artist whatsoever.

Here are our final products:

On the way out, I asked the CM what he thought, and he said it was very good. I was very proud, I felt like I was back in elementary school and getting a positive comment from a teacher! :teacher:

It was just about time for our 50’s Primetime ADR, and we were beyond ready for dinner. We walked the short distance to the café and checked in with the CM. DH and I were instantly entertained by the décor of the restaurant and the way the CM’s were dressed. We gave our name and were told to wait in the bar area for our table.

We really didn’t wait very long to be called and were soon brought to our “kitchen” table where “Mom” was there to meet us. Our server played the part perfectly and was never out of character. She kept calling all the men in our section Skippy and the women Princess. She noticed our ears and announced our honeymoon to the other two tables in our kitchen. We didn’t have a TV at our table, but we really didn’t miss it since we could the one at the other table just fine.

She took our drink orders and then ordered us to set the table. We did as we were told because neither of us wanted to see what would happen if we didn’t obey our mother. Plus we were warned that Dad was home and watching TV in back.

For dinner DH ordered the pot roast and I had the meatloaf—based on recommendations from other Dissers. They both came with mashed potatoes and vegetables, I think mine came with green beans. And boy, were those some great recommendations. Both dishes were incredibly tasty! Mom told us that we better eat up or vegetables otherwise there would be no dessert for us.

Of course, DH, who inhales his food, was finished first, when mom came back with some refills of our drinks, she was so pleased that she made a huge deal that Justin had cleaned his entire plate. She picked up his plate and showed everyone in our section. Then she gave him a sticker that said “Official Member of the Clean Plate Club.”

Once I saw that sticker, I just knew I needed one too, so I started woofing down the rest of my food (I even cheated and gave some to DH while Mom wasn’t looking, it was very sneaky). When Mom came back, she gave me a sticker too. I was thrilled! She even gave me an extra for my scrapbook.

Camera209.jpg

Mom was nice enough to take our picture.

For dessert, DH got the brownie sundae and I had the Smores. DH’s sundae came with some extra Mickey sprinkles since we were celebrating!

DH really liked his sundae!

We really had fun at this dinner and would definitely eat here again. I was so glad we had a CM that was so into her character because I had heard that sometimes you can get a real dud! We said our goodbyes to Mom who told us stop in and visit again soon.

I realized that we had not seen American Idol yet, and I really didn’t want to miss it, unfortunately, we missed the 5:00 PM show since our ADR was at 4:05. We needed to decide what to do next—so we decided to take a leisurely stroll to the Muppet Vision 3-D show. Along the way we had some fun taking pictures.

I just love the Streets of America! I wish they would do more with this section of the park! It always looks so deserted!

When we made it to Muppet Vision they were just about to open the doors, so we didn’t wait very long at all, which is always nice! This show is cute and it always reminds me of my trip to WDW when I was 10 years old because I wanted to watch it over and over, and back then there was actually a line to see it! I always say they should do some updating to bring some of the hype back to it.

After our go round with Kermit and the gang we headed to the Star Tours area, I asked DH if he wanted to ride since there was like only a 10 minute wait—and I would be in the store since it makes me queasy. DH said he didn’t really care to ride it, so we just decided to go into the store and look around. We reminisced how in 2007 I bought him a Jedi Mickey and tried to keep it a secret, even though he knew I had bought something and stuffed it in my purse. The store was packed-- the ride, not so much. We are glad they are giving Star Tours a much needed update, I will have to ride it just to see the changes.

We still had some time before the 6:00 show of American Idol, so we decided to check if RnR had any FastPasses for later in the evening available. We knew it was a long walk, but we had time to kill.

As we were passing near the Indiana Jones entrance, we saw some people sitting down by the steps that will take you near the Echo Lake and pointing to this thing scurrying around on the ground. I looked at DH and was horrified because it was some sort of light brown rodent thing, but it was way too big to be a mouse---I screeched, “IT LOOKS LIKE A RAT!” DH promised it was not a rat.

You see, I absolutely hate mice and anything with mousy tales. It is a phobia I have, I don’t know where it came from, but I just get so disgusted! The weird thing was that this thing wasn’t scared of people because I think it was getting fed by some of the people sitting near the steps. DH was laughing at my near hysteria, trying to calm me down by saying it is just a mouse...I don’t think it was a mouse, it was just too big. Besides, the only mouse I wanted to see at WDW is Mickey—and this sure wasn’t Mickey! DH said something like, “What do you expect? Disney World is full of mice—ever hear of Mickey?” And that is when I screamed, “BUT THAT ISN’T MICKEY!!!!!!” People sitting on the steps were cracking up, and the entire rest of the way to RnR, I was telling DH that I was ready to go to guest relations and tell them they have a mutant mouse on property. :rotfl2:

Slowly, the hysteria disappeared and we made it RnR, only to find there were no more FPs available. Darn! All that for nothing!! We hightailed it back to American Idol to make sure we would get seats for Disney’s newest show, but we made sure to avoid the area near Echo Lake since the mutant could have still been on the loose!

UP NEXT: American Idol & nighttime at DHS with our first EMH ever!

Nice update! I was wondering when we would hear more from you! ;)

Both of your Pluto's are really good! :thumbsup2 He's one of my favorite characters. One of my first souvineirs from WDW was a pair of Pluto socks.

You know what's weird? I've never done those drawing classes either! I've gone through the thing w/ the Mushu movie and then even played w/ some of the games after, but I guess I just missed where you go in for the drawing class. I'll definitely have to check that out next time I go to DHS.

I have a severe mouse phobia too. We had a bad mouse problem in our last apartment and were only there 2 months. I start hyperventalating if I even hear the word mouse, your mouse story really kind of freaks me out since I'm heading down in 11 days!!!! My worst fear is that we will see a mouse! Great update though.

Yay another update :goodvibes

Your Pluto's look really good. I can't believe everyone booed poor Stitch, me and DF would have defo given the thumbs up to draw him.

50's Primetime looks like fun and your server sound like a hoot. V stern mum :)

Can't wait to read more popcorn::

Awww, I would have been excited to see the mouse, but then again I have a pet rat :rolleyes1 However, when I was in NYC and I saw rats running in the subway I steered clear...they are not friendly...and not clean!

Looks like you guys had a great day at DHS!

Haha, yes, the whole real life thing sorta got in my way...but hopefully things will calm down now and I can have updates that aren't about 1 month apart!

You must do the drawing class! It is so worth the wait, we always blew right by it too, but I don't think we ever will again!

Oh don't worry, I am sure what ever I saw was some kind of fluke. I am sorry my story freaked you out! I hope the only mice you see are Mickey and Minnie! :goodvibes

Thanks! To be honest, I too, felt bad for poor Stitch, he had a tough crowd. :lmao:

Yikes! Subway rats...I would probably keel over right there! :lmao:

I've never ate at 50's PTC so thanks for the pics! Looks fun!

50's Primetime is such a fun time! We want to go back with a big group to get everyone in on the fun. :)
