The Mr. the Mrs. and the Dining Plan–Our June 09 Disneymoon -**Naples 4/3/2010**

Good to know about the finger scan thing, but I am really not a that worried about germs. That's why we have soap and water.....:rotfl: Anyway, I am glad you were able to do soooooooooo much at the MK. Isn't it fun, like a little bonus trip within the trip?

Woo, an update! :woohoo: We were at DTD and then Epcot this day. We got soaked!

That stinks you had to go ALL the way back to get your ID's! :headache: I usually love the boat ride, but not if it's raining!

Ahh..I love that first real view of the Castle. :cloud9:

We noticed that Pirates was practically a walk-on the whole trip for us! :woohoo:

Great update. Sorry the weather was so crappy but at least it started to clear up the second trip around.

On our very first WDW trip, our first day was at MK, we were really excited riding the bus listening to the music and then catching a glimpse of the castle. We walked up to the ticket machines and low and behold DF forgot his room key (for which I specifically asked did he have before we left the room). As you could most prob tell I was not amused, so we had to high tail it back to CBR and then back to MK.

I am not keen on the finger print scanning either, but I figure with modern day technology now "they" have your details somewhere no matter if you scan your finger, or purchase something on the internet.

I love how you were able to walk on almost everything, its so cool when that happens :) So is the Swiss Family Tree House not worth a visit then? I have seen other peoples pics and it looks ok (we have never done this one before).

Looking forward to reading about DHS :)

Wh I love being at the MK with no agenda and just doing what you feel like doing!!
What a nice relaxing afternoon and evening!!

Woo hoo to Mickey presents!!

Yay! Another update!

I think I was unclear with my earlier question - would you do deluxe DINING with concierge if you were planning on staying concierge?

Thanks!
Oops, I think I read your question wrong, sorry about that!
I think that it would be too much food period if you are doing deluxe dining! :rotfl: Although it would be really nice to have all the options. We aren't big breakfast people so concierge was nice to get a little bite in the morning. To answer your question, no, I don't think I would spring the extra $$$ for deluxe dining if I was doing concierge. Hope that helps!
Great update! :goodvibes He must REALLY be against the finger scan to go all the way back to the resort for ID!
You have no idea...
Great update!
Thank You! :goodvibes

That what I kept saying since the whole time we thought we would only go to MK twice..it was such a nice bonus, especially with NO PLAN! :goodvibes

We had the same awesome luck with pirates throughout our stay!

I would say it Swiss Family Treehouse is a walk-on wait, then go ahead and do it, if it has a wait, skip it and go do something more fun! Jungle Cruise is right there! :)

MK to CBR would really stink, I was annoyed and we were only a boat ride away, I couldnt imagine! :rotfl:

I know what you mean, this was our first time in a Disney park without a real plan, and I liked it!
Subbing! Can't wait to read more about your magical honeymoon! :wizard:

Thanks! ;)

Hi & welcome. Congrats on your upcoming Disneymoon!!! To answer your question, YES YES YES the GF gives you that honeymoon feeling. That was something I wanted too, and I definitely felt it being there. Of course you will run into kids of all ages, but it is expected at Disney! The GF is such a romantic place, it is beautiful to just take a walk at night over the Polynesian (which I think also has a great honeymoon ambience) Good luck in making your future plans! Let me know what you decide! :goodvibes

loving the updates!!! nothing like a non-busy day at the park!! i am not a fan of rain on regular days, but at WDW it certainly has its benefits!!
can't wait for more! :)

June 24, 2009: Day Two, Part One – We’re Going to Hollywood!

We woke up to our very first Disney wake up call ever...and I agree, they need to do away with Stitch! I sprung out of bed, shook DH to wake up, and started getting ready.

Today we would be heading DHS (MGM) and there were so many things I was excited to see/do, did someone say Toy Story Mania!?!

DH took a while to get up, but we were making good time, not rope drop time, but good time nonetheless—I think we were out the door for breakfast by 8:30.

We put our pins and bridal ears on and headed down to the lobby for breakfast. I was so surprised by all the choices they offered for breakfast. They had different cereals, Danishes, muffins, bagels, and breads. We decided on blueberry muffins, cheese Danishes, and banana bread. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. We were really loving this concierge deal. Again, there was no where to sit, so we sat on the couch in the lobby once again.

We had to get our car from valet, so we headed to the front of the GF to retrieve our car. We liked having our own transportation, even though we barely used our car. They quickly retrieved our car and we were off to DHS! We were parking our car in the lot in no time, we hopped the parking lot tram since one was loading as we were walking toward it (love when that happens). We were at the entrance, I have an eye for finding the fastest bag check line, I don’t know why people don’t know they can go on either side of the table. Oh well, makes it faster for me to get into the parks!

This time we remembered our ID’s along with our KTTW cards, except this time, they didn’t ask for our ID, it didn’t even ask for our fingerprint, it just let us right in. The CM said that someone must have set it so that we can bypass that step, we would still be bringing our ID’s anyways.

Once we were in, we knew exactly where we were headed...Toy Story Mania! And so was everyone else in the entire park apparently.

Camera122.jpg

When we arrived to Pixar Place, I couldn’t not believe the amount of people...we thought we saw the standby line, however, we were informed that it was the FP distribution line! So we got in line, hoping they wouldn’t run out!!

Camera123.jpg

While waiting in this ridiculous line, I took a picture of this, I love the theming in this area of the park.

Camera124.jpg

Camera125.jpg

Us in line, you can see the line behind us, yikes!

At least the line was moving pretty fast. They had a lot of CMs assisting people who had no clue what to do once they got to the machines.

Camera127.jpg

Our return time...at least we will be riding this today!! The standby line was already around 90 minutes or so. No thank you.

Feeling relieved to have secured Fastpasses, we decided to head the other part of the park that we love, Sunset Blvd! We wanted to ride either Tower of Terror or Rockin’ Rollercoaster.

Along the way, we stopped for some Photopass opportunities and the stalking of photographers officially began.

Image001.jpg

Image004.jpg

Looks pretty empty...that is because everyone was waiting for TSM!

I loved using Photopass on this trip simply because it is hard to get good pictures of us together without DH’s outstretched arm in the picture.

We continued on our way to ToT and found another Photopass photographer.

Image008.jpg

Image009.jpg

Then the photographer told us to look like we were on the ToT....

Image011.jpg

As we approached ToT, we saw it only had a 20 minute wait, so we hopped right in that line. The line moved so quickly, I don’t think it was even 20 minutes!

I love this ride, it just so spooky, you really feel like you are in an old, deserted hotel. We got in our elevator and were put in the front row. My stomach started to get butterflies as the ride started, because I knew what was coming. I tried not to think about it too much, I always get so jumpy on this ride. Before we knew it, we were high above DHS, only to be dropped a whole lot of times!

I love how this ride is always different. This time, I felt like it never was going to end! DH and I walked off laughing as always, and my legs were shaking, as always.

We decided to ride the Great Movie Ride next. On our way to the Chinese Theater we found another Photopass photographer and posed with our beautiful ears.

Image013.jpg

Getting a bit more crowded in the background now...

Image021.jpg

We made it to the theater and saw there wasn’t much of a wait, until we made it inside where they show all the movie clips. It was weaving in there, I don’t mind the movie clips, that is until they start to repeat themselves. Plus, it was so hot in there! I wish they would invest in some air conditioning. It was nice to get our of the 93+ degree temperature and sun, but it was still mighty stuffy.

We made it to the doors, but we had to wait for the next loading train. Darn! Oh well, we could now feel the air conditioning from the ride itself, so that was a plus!

It was finally our turn and we were in the second row, for some reason every other time we are in the back...it was a nice and welcomed change. There was a family in front of us and their young son was so funny because he kept asking the CM questions and telling her that he has been on this ride. He just kept going on and on, he was such a little chatterbox! The CM was so nice to him and answered all of his questions...he stopped talking once the ride began, so that was a good thing.

We started on way as we sang in the rain, dodged gangsters, and finally made it to Munchkin Land. I really love the concept of this ride, but I do think it is in need of some updating, there are a lot of movies that they could add to it, just to keep it fresh because I think a lot of people skip since they have seen it so many times.

When we got off the ride we checked the Times Guide and noticed that Indiana Jones was set to begin in about 10 minutes at 11:30. We hadn’t seen the show in the last two trips so we figured it was time to pay Mr. Jones a visit.

We got some decent seats near the bottom right of the theater. DH and I were reminiscing how the last time we saw this show his brother got picked to be one of the extras. Those are some of the things I missed when going with a big group—some of them are much more outgoing than us so they get picked for shows. :rotfl:

Man oh man was it hot in that theater, it got packed so quick and they kept making us squeeze together to make room for people.

We are so hot in this picture...(the sweaty kind of hot!)

Camera132.jpg

Not to mention so tired looking!

Shortly, the show began!

I love the part when they bring in people from the audience, the one guy who they told to play dead was so not enthusiastic and the CMs were making fun of him. It was so fun! I love all the behind the scenes stuff, but having seen this one so many times too, I think it’s about time they bring in a new attraction, either using Indiana Jones, or using the same concept but with a different movie. All in all, though we had a fun time, and we were happy to go and grab our FPs for Rockin Rollercoaster.

Continued...

We hightailed it back to Sunset Blvd, this time we didn’t stop for any Photopass pictures. When we made it to Rockin Rollercoaster we saw the dreaded TOUR GROUP using the machines, we were certain it was a tour group, they all the matching bright neon T-shirts and a person at the front waving the little flag! They had taken up most of the FP machines and were passing up their passes to the person at the front. We were going to be here a while...

We got in one of the lines, which wasn’t moving anywhere fast. As we got closer, the CM told us that this group had to get over 70 Fastpasses, so she handed us 2 Fastpasses without us having to put our cards in so now we could go use them on another attraction.

We left very happy having scored our free fastpasses, tour groups can sometimes be a great thing apparently.

We decided to use our FPs for the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, however when I put my pass in the machine, it gobbled it up! The CM who was attending to the FP machines was having trouble with another one, so we figure we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. We informed him that my pass was eaten and he said he would be with us shortly. I was getting hungry now so we knew that lunch would be in order very very soon. The CM finally helped retrieve my lost pass, the FP machines were finally back up and running, and so were we.

We decided to walk around to find somewhere decent to eat for lunch. On the way, we saw a Toy Solider who didn’t have much of a line, so we took a picture with him.

Camera142.jpg

Camera143.jpg

DH and I always like to try and figure out if the person dressed up as a character is a man or woman, and with this one, you could definitely tell it was a man, DH said he shook his hand so hard it nearly hurt!

Now that we got that our of our system, I told DH that I wanted to eat at Pizza Planet, pizza was sounding pretty good right now and I must have just been in a Toy Story mood that day.

I wasn’t quite sure where it was having never been there, but eventually, after walking through the Streets of America, we found it...busy as can be! It was definitely lunch time and we were not the only ones with grumbling stomachs!

I took a look at the menu, told DH what I wanted, and went to find some seats. I looked all around the lower level, headed upstairs to no avail. There was nada. I decided to forget it and go back in line with DH, who hadn’t moved.

Camera144.jpg

Camera145.jpg

Camera146.jpg

We stood in line for a while, but finally received our food. We decided to look upstairs one more time for a seat, but there was still nothing, then we noticed that there were tables outside which weren’t in the sun, so we decided it was better than nothing.

We both ended up getting the Pepperoni Pizza & Salad. For dessert I got the Rice Crispy treat (which was shaped like a Mickey) and DH got a sugar cookie.

Camera147.jpg

Everything was pretty good! I wasn’t blown away by the food, but it was definitely filling and tasty. I would go there again, but would go for an early lunch instead since peak lunchtime was crazy!

We could now use another FP so we decided to get another for ToT since we just love that one, and I had never ridden it at night. With bellies full, we went back to Sunset Blvd, secured our passes for later that night, and made our way to Pixar Place to ride Toy Story Mania with our FPs!! All along the way, we got tons of congratulations from CMs and complete strangers.

When we got to TSM, the standby line was at 120 minutes and no more FPs were being distributed!!! I was so glad we had Fastpasses! I wish I could do the standby line, because it looked so neat, and I know they have the cool Mr. Potato Head that talks to you, but at 120 minutes, it didn’t seem worth it and I was happy to just blow by that line.

Glasses On!

Camera148.jpg

Camera149.jpg

We got in our little car, and I was beyond excited! Now, I have a hard time with Buzz Lightyear at MK, I just cant seem to figure it out, but this game, I was giving DH a run for his money! I was actually winning at one point, which he was not happy about. In the end though, DH made a comeback and well...

Camera150.jpg

Yeah. He won. Boo. But I think I can definitely take him in this game. A rematch was in order!

After we got off the ride we could see why the wait was 120 minutes! That ride is so much and it has become one of my new favorites! We decided we wanted to ride it again during EMH tonight.

It was now 2:00 and we checked the Times Guide again to see if we could make any of the shows. It turned out Beauty & the Beast was just started, so we headed back to Sunset Blvd. We didn’t get very good seats, we were in the bleachers that weren’t even in the actual theater, but it was fine, we were just glad to sit and enjoy the show.

Camera156.jpg

I went camera happy with this show, trying out the zoom and settings, so excuse all the pictures!

And they lived Happily Ever After...

That wasn’t even all the pictures I took of the show, but you get the idea. :rotfl:

I was amazed at how much we accomplished so far because it was really busy! But we still had a lot to do including the Animation Studio, dinner at 50’s Primetime, and American Idol!

Up Next: More DHS fun and I scream, “BUT THAT ISN’T MICKEY!”

I love your TR!

(And thanks for clearing up my Dining question!)

Mrs. Spratt

Great Update! Hope you keep them coming.

I was visiting family in your fine state last weekend in Cary, IL

I love DHS, looks like a hot day though. Isn't TSM fun, you really should go thru the standby line once, there are so many cute things to look at in there. Thanks for all the B&B pictures too, was it hot sitting in the sun watching from the bleachers?

I just read through all 8 pages of your trip review!

Looks like a fun day at DHS so far! I'm so excited to ride Toy Story Mania when we go in December. DH and I are thinking of buying the TSM game for the Wii when it comes out so that we can practice. That might be the only way for me to even have a chance of winning! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to read more. :goodvibes
