Hey there everyone :hippie: I thought i'd start a planning journal seen as we've just booked our trip! We are soooo excited, we are going in December which is a dream come true :cloud9: I can't wait to see all the decorations and experience all the christmassy goodness!! Plus, the shopping, the shopping and erm ... THE SHOPPING :woohoo::woohoo:

There is just my husband and I going  We got married at Disney in September last year, so this trip is sort of going to be our First Anniversary trip / celebration - who cares if its a few months late, we get to do disney in december :wizard: :cheer2:

We will be there from 27th November to 6th December :santa: We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge for the whole trip :cloud9:

We are on the Free Dining Plan :woohoo: so I need to get my bum in to gear and start planning ADR's!!

So, if anyone out there wants to tag along on this planning journey I'd love to have you here :grouphug: But be warned, there will be lots of planning, lots of confusion, lots of babble & random talk and lots of photos

Hi, my name is Ty, I will join you in your planning venture. I have a trip booked for Dec 3-11th, we can swap info and ideas. Can't wait to hear what plans you have so far.

hey there Ty! Thanks for reading  I'd love to share info and ideas - that sounds great  I'll check out your planning journal too :thumbsup2 Have you been to disney in december before? We havent, so we are really really excited as you can imagine! My head is full of disney at the moment, have a feeling all this weekend is going to be spent planning

I went to Disney in December of 07. We did MVMCP, it was great, even if we didn't do MVMCP there is so much joy in everything else. The spectical of lights at Disney's hollywood studios is a must. Disney gives you a nice dose of Christmas without going overboard, it's just the right mixture of Christmas and Disney.

You guys will love it.

What places are you looking at to eat? Have you tried Liberty Tree Tavern before, it reminds me of a Christmas dinner. Also Coral Reef at Epcot is really great, good food, good atmosphere.

Hiya  Thanks for the tips! I've been doing some researching on here and we're definately gonna book for MVMCP, and visit each park to see all the christmas decorations and parades etc... :santa: I'm so excited!! :yay:

I sat down last night looking at menus and have come up with a little list - still got lots of gaps so more planning is needed & I'm gonna let hubby pick some too but usually we want the same anyway

Yep, we did the Tavern during MNSSHP on our first trip - I loooooved it there!! I couldnt get enough of the food  We also did Coral Reef on our honeymoon, beautiful setting and the steak was to die for :cloud9: These two places are on our must do again :thumbsup2

Hi! Subbing and following along! Looks like our dates overlap! Can't wait to hear more!

Can't wait to see what you and your hubby choose for ADR's. I love food, even other people planning for food gets me all excited.

That's so awesome you get to go during Christmas time! :thumbsup2

One day we'll get to do the same, not sure when but it's on my must do before I die list. :rolleyes1 We'll have to wait before our kids are a little older probably.

Thanks honey!! I'm sure you'll get to go at christmas time, it would be great taking kids along - seeing their little faces when they see all the christmas lights and characters

I have been!! I worked at WDW for the past year and 1/2 (Jan 2008-June 2009) so I've been at Disney in Dec and worked it but also did a weekend get-away with my parents the 2nd week of Dec at AKL :) Dec is a great time to go the first 2, 2 1/2 weeks of the month and after that it is just CRAZY!! From the time my parents came last dec (2nd week) until Mid Jan I did not go to a park over the holidays, it was just wayyy too busy so you are going at a great time!!

Just found your PTR...can't wait to hear more! I am also doing Disney in December and in november...so i can't wait to hear your planning ideas. I've been a lot of times to Disney, but never during that time! I'm subbing!

Aww wow!! It must be amazing to get the opportunity to work there!! It's nice to hear that we are going when it's a little less crazy :thumbsup2

Ohana 'Stitch'
Tusker House

T-Rex
Grand Floridian Cafe
Whispering Canyon (done before)

Dinner :-
Ohana

We will probably throw in a couple of meals in the room and some counter service too :wizard: Will see how our plans develop

What does everyone think??

I did the afternoon tea with my mom and then 2 of my good friends and LOVED it both times!!! I thought the food would be just like little snacks but between all that you get and the tea we were pretty full!!!

Howdy Jo, it's Nic! So glad to see your plans start to come together.:woohoo: I'm a crazy planner myself and had an itinerary set on last years hours about a second after I booked our trip. :rotfl: I'm waiting for the hours so I can solidify our plans, but I think we're pretty set. As soon as we know I'll post our schedule on my own trip planning thread.

I personally LOVE Christmas, so I know that a Disney Christmas will be like a Christmas on a sugar rush!! We'll be celebrating a belated anniversary too! No worries, it's what the trip was intended for right? Plus it's CHRISTMAS!!! :yay:

Random question, not sure if anyone, or you Jo, would know. DH and I have a few ADR's that I will be setting up on Friday (California Grill, Le Cellier for CP, and Chef Mickey's). We have free dining so we'll have 4 more table service credits. I'm not sure I really want to limit us with too many ADR's as DH kind of likes to go with the flow and sometimes eat depending on what we're doing, where we are and what kind of mood we're in. How hard to you think it would be if we did a walk up. Now we know that there are peak hours, and we're kind of dining at off times anyway. But lets say we want to do a late lunch/early dinner in Japan, do you think that would be impossible?

Thanks for the help Jo and have a magical day!!! princess:

I think your plans sound great. I would love to try T-Rex, maybe on a future trip. I have never done Whispering Canyon, we were going to but my Mom read that the meat is smoked, she can't have "smoked" stuff, it causes migraines. Did you notice if everything was smoked? Would there be something she could order without MSG?

Looks good to me! I've wanted to try whispering canyon for awhile now..but can't find any decent reviews on it! You can check out my 2 for 1 PTR in my signature, I updated it!

Sounds good! We are excited to check out T-Rex! You know... you can call them directly and not have to wait the 90 days to do adr's? If you need it, I can give you the number!

Hi  - Count me in! We'll be in Disney in early December too! Your ADR's look tasty, and somewhat familiar LOL
