The movie "An Education"... did you see it? (spoilers probably)

Did you like it??


I'm usually not very picky with movies. I can't watch horror movies and I'm not a huge comedy fan, but I will watch them any way. Dramas I'm usually pretty flexible with and even when they aren't that great I can usually happily sit through them.

I strongly hated this movie and have yet to find another person who has even seen it. I didn't expect to react so badly to it, but I disliked it so much I walked out of the theater halfway through.

I hadn't heard of it, either. I just watched the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qn9IMe5jmf0) and it looks pretty good to me. What didn't you like about it?

I haven't seen it and most likely wont till netflix, but my mil keeps raving about it.

Well, for starters everyone keeps raving about the young actress. And she may have been good but her character was so irritating I wanted to smack her.

I said there would be spoilers, soooo.... I felt like I was an accessory to child endangerment. The male character was so smarmy and disgusting that I had to leave the theater before they slept together. There was one scene where they were in a bedroom together and he asked "can I see them" and she removed the top portion of her nightie. It was disgusting to me.

She was an idiot and he was a creep. I guess I just don't do well with movies where I can't cheer for any of the characters I was disgusted by his actions, but she was so taken by him (and so were her parents) that I just wanted to shake one of them.
