Sorry, I can't think of the correct name of these!! But I was wondering how much these are to rent at Disney and even at Sea World. My mom is finally coming for her first trip with us in November. Due to a heart condition and other ailments she can only walk a short distance and then she's exhausted. We thought that maybe if we rented these it might be helpful. She's not going on any rides, but she does want to see Disney.

Now, I've been to Disney many times, but from her perspective, I don't know which park she might enjoy more. I'm thinking either MGM or Animal Kingdom. What do you think???

Thanks for any help you can give!

I believe there are somewhere in the area of $40+ a day at Disney subject to availability. My sister who had a knee replacement rented one from Randy's Mobility and they deliver it to your hotel and pick up at your hotel so you have it all the time. She paid $180/week (she is a big person and got the scooter for a larger person), for a smaller weight limit it is cheaper. It was one of our best investments.

Come on over to the disAbilities board for answers to every question you have about ECV's! Everyone pretty much recommends renting from an off-site company, as the ECV's are in better shape, it is cheaper, you don't have to worry if you park hop and there is no ECV at that park and you have the ECV to get around at Downtown Disney and other places.

Just scan down and look for threads with the word "ECV" in it and ther will be plenty of information. Any questions you have after reading them, just ask as everyone there is so helpful!

If you can push her in a wheelchair, you may be able to get a manual wheelchair complimentary from your Disney resort. Of course it depends what time of year you plan on going, but the walk from the boat or monorail to where you rent your ecv can be very tiring.

the ECV (electric convience (sp?) vehicle) is much better than a regular wheel chair - your mom will have so much more independence and you won't wear yourself out from having to push her everywhere - they are worth every penny.

Unless your mother is a freak for animals, MGM is a much better park for her to visit. IMHO.

I would recommand ECV: off the theme park rental is about $30/day - many will offer hotel drop off/pick-up; need charge daily (recomanded).

Yes, I think we will do MGM. I think Epcot might be a bit overwhelming for her. We are planning on doing Sea world as well, its mostly shows and I think she'll enjoy that:):wave2:
