The Most Relaxing Place on Earth! 1/23, Day 8: Last Day!

Just so you know you were the voice in my head all morning and last night. Your love of the 1 bedroom changed our plans around for next summer. I realized that I could not probably really vacation in a studio with three kids for very long!

:grouphug: for the Disney Blues.

I'm in - I missed the beginning, but I am caught up now! I know too well what you mean by the Disney blues!

I think all of us can understand the Disney Blues! Sometimes the best medicine (short of booking another trip) is writing about the one you just got back from. :goodvibes

I would love to book another trip, but this is as close as I'm going to get. :)

I completely understand! On our drive home I was so melancholy. DH just does not share my enthusiam for Disney. I'd love to do a mother/daughter trip too but I just don't see that happening anytime soon. This past trip was kind of different since I felt like a tour guide...I'd planned our whole trip for my in-laws and my family. They were constantly asking me questions about what we're doing next, when are we eating, yada yada yada. While I always love going to Disney, this particular trip felt more like work! Isn't that funny? Still, everyone had a great time. :thumbsup2

As far as beating the Disney blues, I think your trip report will help you! Do you scrapbook? That's always a good way to keep the trip alive too! Plus your little ones will be even older which will make the trip more relaxing and fun for all of you. Another good thing about Disney is that there's always more to see. All the more reason to go back, right?

Looking forward to your next update!:goodvibes

Oh, I know that feeling! Our first trip I felt like I should have worn the Disney guide cast uniform with DH. After that trip I made the notecards. :rotfl:

At least everyone appreciated your efforts and asked you questions instead of just assuming something.

Yes, I scrapbook. I'm going to tackle that after Thanksgiving.

Yes, you are right. They will be older and easier (in some ways), so it will be nice.

I know how you feel about Disney blues. I don't think we will be going back till April or May 2011. It feels like such a long time!

Doesn't it? Man, it seems like a lifetime. That is probably when we will go back too. We love spring at Disney.

An hour?! Holy cow, that's awful!!! We only did the boat once from DTD - it went directly to SSR - then over to OKW....so I wonder if they changed it??? Ugh. What a pain!

Otherwise, sounds like a GREAT day! You have an all-star DH for dealing with lunch at Sci Fi AND the park. I laughed out loud about A. being able to spot a playground from anywhere - Henry is like that too, "SLIDE!" and Joe and I are like, "Where? Huh?!" :rotfl:

I'm with ya on the Disney Blues. I'm ITCHING for our trip! And I am pretty certain it will be a whole year before we get to go back, so I'm going to get into the rut I'm sure next year. :sad2:

Yes, 1 hour. It was horrible!

Rob just took them to the park so I could get some things done around here...and here I sit on the Dis. :rotfl:

Your trip is so close!!!!

SSR is so pretty! You really lucked out on your room :thumbsup2

Your little ones are so adorable - what a fun age to take to Disney (my DD & GS joined me in December 2008 for 4 days and he was 14 mos old. Loved seeing his face on his first ride IASW.)

How weird that SciFi didn't have the tray for the high chair :confused3 I've always wondered how a restaurant can not have enough trays for the chairs but it's happened tons of time with my kids growing up.

Yes, our room was perfect. I loved it.

The tray thing was weird and we didn't have a problem anywhere else.

Great TR. I am really enjoying reading it. My darling angels (lol) are now 21 and 15 so I enjoy reading about the enjoyment of the little ones.

Lucy

Thanks! :goodvibes

:grouphug: for the Disney Blues.

:laughing: You won't regret it, trust me! It was just *so* nice to be able to stick B. in the bedroom when he was tired and we all didn't have to tip-toe around and try to keep A. quiet. Are you guys going back to Disney or are you doing the beach?

I'm in - I missed the beginning, but I am caught up now! I know too well what you mean by the Disney blues!

Welcome! I'm glad I'm not alone in the Disney blues! Rob doesn't understand. He keeps saying, but we had an awesome trip, you should be happy. And I am happy, but.... you all understand! :goodvibes

Yes I do, I don't know when we will be back - it may be 2012 :scared1:

We woke up bright and early thanks to our human alarm clock B. I think it was around 6:15. We all got up and Rob fixed us eggs and toast while I got a shower and the kids dressed. Animal Kingdom had extra Morning hours this day we we loaded up and headed out the door.

We parked and headed into the park. The parking lot was almost empty, so we hoping that the first hour would be productive for us!

We headed in...
WDWDay2AKMK001.jpg

and it was empty! It was awesome. I debated about running over and getting fastpasses for EE, but decided against it. A. really wanted to see the animals so we just went straight to
WDWDay2AKMK008.jpg
.

Right when the jeep started to move the kids weren't too sure that they were going to like it.
WDWDay2AKMK021.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK023.jpg

It was still kind of dark so my first few pictures didn't turn out.
WDWDay2AKMK020.jpg

But as soon as we got out on the savannah, there we tons of animals and lots of warm sunshine!
WDWDay2AKMK025.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK028.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK035.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK039.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK046.jpg

Everyone can relax, we saved Little Red and peace was restored back to Africa. :3dglasses

B. needed a diaper change at this point so Rob took him and A. and I took
some pictures.
WDWDay2AKMK048.jpg

We kind of stood around for a couple minutes thinking about what we wanted to do next. Rob knew I was itching to ride EE since I have never rode it before, so we headed on over to get fast passes!
WDWDay2AKMK052.jpg

When we got there the stand-by line was 15 minutes. But I decided to get fastpasses anyway. The return time was 9:40 so we headed over to DinoLand, U.S.A.

Our first stop was TriceraTop Spin. There was no wait, so we just stepped right on!
WDWDay2AKMK055.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK056.jpg

After that we headed over to The Boneyard. The kids had a blast and could have stayed here all morning.
WDWDay2AKMK060.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK062.jpg

A.'s favorite was climbing the rope ladder and going down this slide.
WDWDay2AKMK066.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK069.jpg

B.'s favorite were running around like a crazy man and going down these slides.
WDWDay2AKMK076.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK075.jpg

Of course, big sister had to get in on the action and show off a little. ;)
WDWDay2AKMK080.jpg

Continued in next post.

It was around 10:00 at this point, so we bribbed A. with a "special treat" aka gummies so we could leave the play area.

I changed B.'s diaper and Rob took the kids so I could go ride EE!! I was so excited. The stand-by was still only 15 minutes, but I still used my FPs. There was no one in the FP line, so I basically walked onto the ride.

After my ride I called Rob to see if he wanted to switch and he said he didn't really want to ride so I could use his FP too! :cool1:

So, I got right back in line and walked onto the ride again. I love it!! I could have ridden it all day!

While I was doing that, the kids were doing this:
WDWDay2AKMK086.jpg

I met them at the back of Chester & Hester's and we decided what we wanted to do next. Our lunch at Yak and Yetis was at 11:30 and it was around 10:45 at this point. We decided to walk over that way and see if we could get in a little early.

We stopped to watch the Monkey's play for a while.

WDWDay2AKMK089.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK090.jpg

They were picking at each other while the baby was just swinging around. A. really liked them.

Then we found a fastpass guy and got some pictures taken.
WDWDay2AKMK092.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK094.jpg

I guess we saw a Tiger. I don't remember it, but here is the pictures.

WDWDay2AKMK097.jpg

By the time we got to Y&Y it was around 11:15. I went to check us in and they waited patiently.
WDWDay2AKMK098.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK099.jpg

Our buzzer rang at about 11:25, so not a bad wait at all, and still early for our ADR.

We were on the second floor, front of the restaurant, but not by a window. That was okay though, we were in a corner, so less chance of bothering people.
WDWDay2AKMK102.jpg

B. was enjoying himself.
WDWDay2AKMK106.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK104.jpg

I ordered the Crispy Honey Chicken. Rob ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken. A. ordered the chicken bites. B. ate a kids clif bar. ;)

This meal was awesome! Oh my goodness, we loved it! We just kept saying, you have to try this! The waiter saw that A. really loved the rice so he brought her out a bowl so she was in heaven!

For dessert A. got the sundae, Rob got the sorbet, and I got the fried wontons. We were both so stuffed that we barely at the desserts, but once again, *so* good. This was our 2nd favorite meal of the trip.

After this, we were all stuffed and tired. So, we decided to call it a morning and head back to SSR. I really wanted to see Lion King, but decided rest was more important and we headed out.

After a short trip we were back at the Villa and shortly after that we were all asleep!

Coming up next: "SHE WAVED AT ME!!!!!"

I found your report this morning and I am all caught up. Your kids are adorable! Can't wait to read more!

What a successful AK morning! You are doing really well just going with the flow, I'm really impressed.

We loved Yak and Yeti too!!!!

I've eaten at the CS and TS and sadly the honey chicken is the same inside as it is outside and way more expensive if you aren't on the DDP :( When we were there I got some kinda fish which was wonderful!!

I would totally eat at the TS again if I was on the DDP :)

Love this picture of your little girl, what a cutie! :goodvibes I've often wondered about the Boneyard and whether it's worth the time. Now I'm convinced my kids would love playing there! Is it hard to keep track of them though? I'm so paranoid about being able to see them at times while at a playground like that. Is the entrance and exit the same?

How nice that AK was deserted for you all. I've convinced my family that rope drop is worth getting up for, especially when the parks look like a ghost town! It was like that for us a week later and we rode EE 3 times in a row!:cloud9: Glad to hear you enjoyed it so much too.:thumbsup2 I swear, it sure felt like we did a loop though, didn't it? I was screaming like a banshee and my family was laughing hysterically at me! Don't ya just love thrill rides?

Thanks so much for your review of Yak & Yeti.:thumbsup2 I am dying to try this place and am so happy to hear that it's good! Yeah! Was the theming of the restaurant awesome? I've heard that it is.

We realized too the importance of taking a break in the day. I keep telling people that Disney is not your normal vacation! Anyhow, I'm enjoying reading your TR and your family is a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e.:goodvibes

What a great day at AK. So glad you got to ride Everest and have lots of animals to see on the Safari. We have never done the Boneyard... mean mom of the year I am! Someday!

B is so stinkin' cute again and A. is getting so super big!

You were able to accomplish so much at AK in the morning -- Everest, Safari, Primeval Whirl, the Boneyard, and the tiger trail! I was laughing over your comment of not remembering the tiger -- I think we all have moments like that!

Productive morning at AK! Your photopass pictures turned out great and your lunch sounded heavenly!

I found your report this morning and I am all caught up. Your kids are adorable! Can't wait to read more!

Welcome! Thanks, coming up!

Yes, every time I would stress I would remind myself that I needed to relax. :)

We loved Yak and Yeti too!!!!

Yes, we noticed that it was really expensive too. We have already decided that we are eating there next time.

Thanks, the photopass guy posed her like that and then I took one with my camera.

This was our first time at the boneyard and it was really empty. I can see if it were busy then it would be really stressful trying to keep track of the kids.

There is only one entrance and one exit.

How nice that AK was deserted for you all. I've convinced my family that rope drop is worth getting up for, especially when the parks look like a ghost town! I know! We were super excited when we saw the crowd level. Rope drop is so worth it and so is EMH.

Yes, I love EE. I sat by a screamer on my second ride.

What a great day at AK. So glad you got to ride Everest and have lots of animals to see on the Safari. We have never done the Boneyard... mean mom of the year I am! Someday!

You Mean Momma you!

Oh yes, the Tiger Trail! I remember that now.

Productive morning at AK! Your photopass pictures turned out great and your lunch sounded heavenly!

Thanks!!

When I last left you we were all asleep. B. started crying about 1.5 hours into our nap so I went and grabbed him quickly and we headed outside to explore the resort.

WDWDay2AKMK113.jpg

We walked up to the Carriage House, down by the main pool, and then just wandered around for about 1/2 an hour.

WDWDay2AKMK114.jpg

When we got back to the room I thought both A. and Rob would be up but when we got in the room we saw this:
WDWDay2AKMK122.jpg

I peaked in at Rob in the bedroom and he was also still snoozing away, so I fixed B. a snack and we headed out on the patio. While I was fixing his snack, he was doing this:
WDWDay2AKMK123.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK125.jpg

So, we headed out with a snack and this is when I discovered my afternoon past time. Watching bad golfers! Oh y goodness, they were hilarious! B. enjoyed playing around outside and he was trapped in by the bushes, so we both were able to relax.

About 20 minutes later A. woke up and then we all went in and woke up Rob.

He didn't look great at this point. He said he didn't feel well and felt like a cold was coming on. I've been so worried about H1N1 that I got that pit in the bottom of my stomach. I just knew that he was going to be sick the rest of the trip. He took some cold medicine and drank a lot of water and said he felt a little better.

So, we packed up and headed to Magic Kingdom for dinner and our Dessert Party!

After a short drive we decided to take the monorail. We got in the first car and right before the doors closed a cast member jumped in our car. She said she was there to entertain us and started asking Disney trivia. This is when I knew I was a Disney nerd...I knew the answer to every question except the length of the monorail. :rolleyes1 Of course I only yelled out one answer (well, maybe two) so that the kids could have the fun monorail cards she was passing out.

When we arrived at MK we were shocked to see the crowd!:scared1: Then I realized that it was just a dance party happening and that is why everyone was crowded into one small space.

A. felt like partying, so she joined in.
WDWDay2AKMK130.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK133.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK131.jpg

After some dancing, we headed to Fantasyland and rode A.'s ride.
WDWDay2AKMK142.jpg

WDWDay2AKMK146.jpg

Then we headed to Toon Town to ride Barnstormer. A. and I rode and then she spotted it, the play area.:headache: So, she wouldn't ride it with Rob because she wanted to play...so we went over there.

After about 1/2 hour B. was getting hungry so we bribed A. with a sucker  and headed to The Pinocchio Village Haus for some dinner. This place really was packed. So, I left Rob with A. and B. and I went to order. We got one pizza to share and one Mac 'n Cheese to share. When we got back to the table, Rob said he wasn't hungry and felt horrible. I was really worried at this point.

So, the kids and I ate and then we headed out to get in line for the Dessert Party. While we were waiting for our wristbands Rob drank a bottle of water and said he felt better. I didn't believe him.;)

After a short wait, we were escorted to our table. It seemed kind of weird honestly. There was a very long line and they had 3-4 people escorting guests to their table. Luckily we were in the front of the line, the poor people in the middle to end of the line were still waiting to be escorted while we were enjoying our desserts!

We were located in "A" section, so we were on the lower level. Nice view for Spectro.
WDWDay2AKMK149.jpg

I did not take one picture of the buffet! I had read horror stories of them running out of food and being slow to replace it so I was more concerned about getting the food than pictures. Sorry!

The desserts were good, but I'm not sure there was enough variety for the price.:confused3 We agreed that it is a good thing to do once, but we probably wouldn't do it again for that price.

Right before the fireworks we walked up to the rail and we were lucky to be right under Tink's line. When Tink flew right at us A. go *so* excited. I was holding her and she was yelling "TINKERBELL, IT'S ME A.! HIIIIIIIIIIII!!" When Tink got right above us she/he looked down and waved at us. This made A.'s trip. "TINKERBELL WAVED AT ME!!!" She talked about it so much. We both agreed that that was one of those Disney Magic Moments and you can't put a price on that!

After the party we were all tired and I could tell Rob was really not feeling well, so we made our way out of the park.
WDWDay2AKMK151.jpg

Rob stopped in the Confectionery to get some Mickey suckers. We waited with our "fireworks".
WDWDay2AKMK154.jpg

We started to walk out of the park and saw the HUGE line for the monorail. So we walked back in the park, took a potty/diaper break, and browsed around the shops on Main Street. About 1/2 hour later the crowd had died down and we were quickly back to our car.

When we got back to the hotel, we gave the kids a quick bath and put them to bed. I think B. was asleep before we laid him down.

Rob was feeling even worse and sounding worse and worse. We decided that we would just play tomorrow by ear and not stress about it.

So, off to sleep we all went.

Coming Up Next: I'm not sure I can do this!

how sweet!!!!

Back in Feb, my roomie from college and her family came down to visit me at WDW. It was her 2nd cousins 1st time at WDW and she turned 5 while there. The first thing we saw when we walked into MK was the afternoon parade and Cinderella was going by and she looked right down at Ocean and waved and her face was priceless!! I'm glad you had a good similar experience :)

Love love love that Tink waved at A. That is the moments you remember and they remember and is why we work so hard to take our kids there, despite the fact that taking little ones is hard work!

I am a bit worried about Rob. That would be the worst!

Awww! I love it!! I'm sure she remembers that to this day.

A. talks about Tinkerbell waving to her at least once a day!

HEY! You have a new ticker!! Is that the Beach Club?!

Yes, it made everything worth it. That 2 seconds. :lovestruc It was just so magical!

Yes, you'll see the full extent in the next update.:sad2:

It is too bad the dessert party did not have the variety. This is kinda how we felt out MNSSHP. I didn't think it was worth the extra cost. I don't know why Disney doesn't include the party for the price of regular admission. They didn't do much extra to make it special. I was disappointed. Universal Studio's HHN, on the other hand, was wonderful!

Rob was feeling even worse and sounding worse and worse. We decided that we would just play tomorrow by ear and not stress about it.

We all didn't feel well most of our trip. My niece ended up get a fever the last day and had to fly home that way. My DH thinks he had a fever. It could have been much worse for us though. I hope things got better for you all.
