The "More to Love" thread.

Why? Because women might actually feel comfortable in a size 14/16 body instead of dieting and exercising their way down to a scrawny size 2 like BL's last winner? I am sorry for the losses in your family, but this show won't undermine anything except for people preconceived notions of what beauty can be.
Size has nothing to do with beauty - but obesity kills. Supporting obesity is like supporting smoking...

Is this the official MTL thread, then? I am watching the second episode on Fox since I missed it. One thing I noticed from the last episode is that Luke DOES NOT look like he's 330 lbs and the thinner women DO NOT look like they weigh under 200 lbs. He looks skinnier than 330 pounds and they look heavier than 170-200. I also noticed that each and every one of them is very pretty.

The previews look ... interesting. He looks like he is going to take some "liberties" and they look like they are going to take the opportunity to be skank biscuits.

Skank Biscuits... :happytv:

I agree with you about the weights - I think several of the women way underestimated what they weighed. Some of them looked right, but most looked wrong.

That being said, the fact that they even put the women's weight is really offensive. Since this show does not involve weight loss their weight has no business being broadcasted. :sad2:

Other than the weight thing I liked the show OK. I think some of the girls are really pretty. I think the one girl Melissa actually has the prettiest face and it's so sad that she doesn't feel she deserves love. She is a lovely girl! I also thought Heather (the one who got sick on the boat) is really cute and looks kind of like Britney Spears.

I'll keep watching - I like these dating type shows.

Duh. It didn't occur to me that that would lie about their weight!

What bothers me now is how desperate they all seem. Like this is their one and only chance to find love. Luke looks like a nice guy and all, but more than one of them is picking out china after only a week!

I'm watching. I am a Bachelor/Bachelorette fan and a plus sized gal so I am automatically intrigued.

My favorites are Malissa, Bonnie and Heather. I really dislike Lyndsey (she's a pot stirrer) Kristian (way too desperate) and Melissa (cries way too much and clearly has issues with self esteem to work on before she gets involved with anyone)

I am working very hard to lose weight at the moment, but other than my weight I am very healthy. I am a bih fan of The Biggest Loser and I think the contestants are amazing. With that said, I must say this show is not about promoting obesity. I hope it's about finding love, and love not being about a size or weight. If I had waited to be thin to find love I might not be happily married now. In actuality, it is my husband's love and my desire to grow old with him that inspired me to deal with my issues and try to be healthy. Maybe these women and Luke will want the same. Either way, hopefully they find what they are looking for and are better for the experience.

Well said! :goodvibes

I like Bonnie too - she is cute and has a nice attitude so far.

For some reason this show is uncomfortable for me to watch. I think it it's because of the utter desperation of most of those girls. They grasp at him like he is the last man on earth and if they don't end up with him their lives aren't worth living.

I think the self-esteem of those girls is extremely low. It is almost like they don't feel lthey are worthy of being loved the way they are. Most of them are very pretty, but I think they need to work on what's inside before they find true love.

I also think that some of these women are showing their cattiness a lot sooner than most of these type shows.

Just my opinion anyway, which isn't worth much. ;)

I don't like Lauren at all. I hate when people choose to talk bad about others instead of concentrating on their own qualities. I thought Luke seemed turned off when she was dissing Arianne and someone else(???) over their ages, and I was surprised he kept her around.

I don't like Bonnie much, either, for the same reason, that I posted about last week.

I don't know all of their names yet. So far I don't like the Blonde Mellisa who was so catty during the first group date, and the girl who decided she needed to gossip to Luke about the faults of the other girls. I liked Kristian at first but now she just makes me sad because she is soooooo desperate.
