I had a sudden inspiration to begin a thread dedicated to/all about possibly (sp?) one of the BEST inventions in transportation....

THE MONORAIL!!!

I have always loved the monorail...since I was a little girl. I just wish it went further (ie different places). We should bombard Disney with requests to expand the beloved monorail.

We love the monorail so much that on our day to visit the Magic Kingdom back in January, we rode the bus to Epcot first, then rode the monorail to TTC, then transferred to the Magic Kingdom monorail to the park. Riding the monorail is always fun.

We are arriving in the late afternoon .... so instead of using a park pass, we are going to take the MK bus.... ride the monorail around.... have dinner .... and then head back to POR...
The monorail feels like home to me....

My first glimpse of MK was riding in from TTC on monorail. I'll never forget DD (then 3) jumping up and down in glee upon seeing the top of Cinderella's castle

Im looking forward to using the monorail more this trip since we are staying at CR, I have only been on it once, from CR to MK. To get from a resort to a park you have to switch monorails right?

Blech, I feel like Im in NYC. Not sure I will like the mono all that much, unless its a whole lot faster than busses. I HATE the subway in NYC. Don't ask me why, Id rather pay $60 in taxis than $5 for a day pass. But maybe I will feel different on this because I can see outside. Rather than under the ground, like a mole!

I remember seeing the monorail on TV when I was little. On my first trip to WDW, at the age of 27, my first "ride" was the monorail and that was how I saw the castle for the very first time. My family has taken away the cameras as I only seem to take monorail pictures!

The Monorail is the best!! I just wish it was connected to all 4 parks. Wouldn't that be awesome! And to all resorts.....ahhhhhh, heaven!
