I hope I make it - there was yet ANOTHER SWA flight with "issues" on the news... yes, I'm flying SWA next week and we all know what kind of flyer I am.....

Ahhhhh, wide awake at the crack of dawn, a big stretch and a look at my calendar......

No place to be.... no one to see... nothing to do. Check.

Looks around.... where is Jeff?

Do I really care where JEff is??? I have my choice of a mimosa or a bloody mary!!! Or BOTH if he doesn't get back soon!!!

He had ventured up to Deck 9 to get coffee, but being the McSparkleson that I am, I arranged for room service the night before.... so I had booze AND coffee arriving at 7am sharp!

At 9 years and 362 days old, Ally was getting harder and harder to wake up. But when we told her we were heading to Lumiere's to see "her boy" for breakfast, she was up and in the shower in no time.....

As much as I really enjoyed sitting down for breakfast, I think I enjoyed Topsiders more. After all, I am on a ship in the middle of the sea.... not exactly my every day sights and sounds..... so why would I want to sit in a dining room? I have a dining room at home!!!

Oh, yes, it was for "Ally's boy."

I must say, this was some good stuff.....

After breakfast, we made our way back up to Deck 10 to grab some seats for the day. But today the McSparklesons were gonna get crazy...... instead of sitting on the starboard side....

We're goin port Baby!!!!!

We told Ally that she needed to get some Vitamin D today, after spending 6 hours in the Lab yesterday, gettin her flubber on.....

She was more than happy to spend time at the pool, and since she had already snuck out of the room and down 5 or 6 doors to write on Tori's white board, she knew that her friend would be seeking her out soon. Heaven forbid she should spend some time with her "too sexy Superstah" parents!!!!

I swear, I think Ally and Tori must have snuck out to check their white boards every 10 minutes.... "did you hear that? I think someone wrote on our board....."

I don't know that our butts had even made indentations in our lounge chairs, before Tori and her mom Tammi came bouncing over. Well, Tori was bouncing... Tammi was way cooler than that....

And they were off.....

I had no complaints though, because as an only child, Ally is very outgoing and I love that she was able to make a friend so quickly. It made the trip that much more enjoyable for Ally, and also for Jeff and I because we did not have to spend all the time trying to entertain her. As much as I love to spend time with her, I was happy I did not have to spend time in the cesspool...... after all, it was considerably warmer....

Ally and Tori were all over the place, but mainly on the slide, in the pool, on the slide, in the pool..... lather, rinse, repeat.....

So when it came time for lunch, a simple, "Ally, we are going to lunch, do you and Tori want to come along?" was met with a resounding, "No, I'll get something later...."

So to Topsiders we went... alone again.

As we walked past the atrium, I looked down and saw the Princess Gathering......

which about killed me......

I lost it...... I was WATCHING the princess gathering instead of fighting my way to the front of the line, taking out 3 year old Ariels along the way.... wait, I never really did that. I made sure they were 4 before I threw them an elbow......

Jeff, on the other hand, found it quite funny.....

When I finally made it to Topsiders, all puffy eyed, it was Asian buffet, my favorite of the trip. I am not a huge Asian foodie, but this I really enjoyed.

OUr view again.... I was beginning to get used to this....

When we got back to our chairs, Ally raced up and asked if I'd go with her to Pluto's for a burger...... I think Tori and her family were off to lunch or something so now Ally needed her mama again.....

This would be the last time, however, that Ally asked me to accompany her to get food. She figured it out pretty quickly and was never afraid to hit Pluto's or Pinnochios, or the ICE CREAM, alone again!

I think I must have punched her in the eye while practicing my princess gathering moves....... hey, if she's not gonna go with me anymore, I can't let myself get rusty, right? After all, there will be grand kids one day and I need to be on my game to get them to the front of the line, too!!!!

So, it's now after 12:00, maybe 12:01..... so time for the DOTD!!!!!

At 1pm the day before, I had watched the activities director lead a bunch of kids in Fun in the Sun and I really wanted to make sure Ally was around for this.

I'll be back later with Fun in the Sun pics and video.... it was what I looked forward to on each sea day!!!!

i have tears in my eyes because I know that day is coming soon for Beth. We had the dreaded easter bunny talk not too long ago. You do realize I will not be wearing mascara when we are at WDW because I CRY like a baby when I see the castle and I can't imagine what it will be like without the two crazies. I have seen it by meself but that was a long time ago. Something tells me I'll get over it soon.

I love that she made a friend. Is Tori the one that lives near you too?

So sorry that Ally skipping the princess meet made you sad, it stinks when they grow up doesn't it? My oldest is 15 and he's told me that he's ready to go on vacation to somewhere other than Disney Yeah, I looked pretty much the same as you did after seeing the princesses.....

Oh, and congrats on booking another cruise!!!!

Totally crying right now! One day that will be my Abby too. Very sad. In fact it may even happen on our cruise. Whaaa. Loving all of your updates. Those DOTDs look so fgood after the week I have had. Tornadoes, tornadoes tornadoes. I did spend most of the week down the street from you at my 'rents BUT alas I was crying the whole time finding out who had lost houses or worst in the storms nad never really knowing how long we would be there. Oh well. Next trip when I am more houseguest than refugee I promise.

On our last trip I watched all of the little girls in their princess outfits & I lost it. Then & there I pulled a Scarlett Ohara & vowed as God is my witness I will take my granddaughters to WDW for their first time! I'm making good that vow this coming Sept! Boys just think that they are too cool for the Disney characters. My oldest loved Scooby Doo instead of Disney. I just couldn't wrap my brain around Scooby Doo.

Ally asked about the Easter Bunny on Good Friday this year - and I did what any mother would do.... I lied! There was no way I was giving that up two days before Easter. The Tooth Fairy is out of the bag though..... and something tells me that Santa will be out (not that there's anything wrong with that! for you Seinfeld fans!) before Christmas this year.....

As for the characters, she knows that they are dressed up in costumes, BUT that there is a real Mickey, Chip, Donald, etc, somewhere. But she has figured out that they are in too many places at one time. But bless her heart for thinking there really is a 5 foot tall mouse in red pants "somewhere."

The mimosas and bloody marys are on "sale" in the mornings at only $3.50 each! It's a steal!

When your 15 year old starts talking crazy like that, just put your hands over your ears and yell "la la la la la , I can't heeeeaaaarrrr you!" It works. Trust me. After all, how do you think I scored another DCL reservation?

Especially since to Ally the princesses are real. All the "face" characters are real, no costumes. But she only watched about 2 minutes of the royal wedding with me last week - a REAL princess!!! Then she got bored and walked off......

OMG! I didn't even think about you in Alabama! How close are you to Tuscaloosa???? I'm so sorry to hear about all the people you must know who were affected. How much damage did you sustain???? And I totally know why you didn't knock on my door last week..... but next time FO SHO!!!!! That was my best gansta voice....

Well since Scarlett O'Hara is my favorite literary character EVER, I can totally relate!! And congrats on the upcoming trip!!!! When we went with my inlaws 3 years ago, I think they had as much fun watching the kids as they did seeing Disney for the first time in 20 years for themselves.....

Not to mention, As God is my witness, I will never be hungry again, is EXACTLY like As God is my witness I will take my grandkids to WDW..... At least in my book. Cause I think I'd give up food for a month to get there.....

It was actually Jeff who wanted to do DCL again soon. When Ally told us about all the times she and Tori roamed the ship looking for characters (and ice cream!) that was what sold us.... that and the wine and I gave him........

But I was really ready to do the RCCL Freedom of the Seas. It's also out of Port Canaveral and leaves the same day as the Fantasy's inaugural cruise. So that would be really cool to see. We've spent nearly every night on youtube and cruise critic checking out videos and reviews of other ships and that seems to be the one we are sold on...... AFTER Disney of couse!!!

I wonder if the Fantasy will be in port the day before they sail. I know we were told that when a ship ports over night it is only in extreme cases, usually not a good thing. But in this case???? I'd love to see her since I will NEVER be able to take that cruise. It was over $1500 MORE for the same itinerary for us!!!!
