Pre-trip Report: Cast of Characters

Grandpa Numan a.k.a. Grandpa Norman- the man gracious enough to allow Grandma Gail the opportunity to even consider buying into DVC. Loves WDW, rumored to be much more laid back on vacation than at home...but we will see!

Grandma Gail- lady who loves to give, almost as much as she loves to shop. Talked Grandpa Numan into committing to DVC. Cannot wait to take her only GD to WDW.
Says Grandpa Numan is much more laid back when he goes into Disney mode, but like I said, we will have to see...

Nicki a.k.a. Mickeyschickie (on the Dis)- also rumored to be a Disney afficionado/commando/tour guide type...grew up going to Disney with her family, looking forward to first trip with in-laws. Loves that both her parents and in-laws are DVC member (Sparks Family @ VWL, McElwain Family @ SSR) Biggest desire is to keep everyone happy on trip and still get some R&R.

Ernie a.k.a. Super Farmer- wonderful DH who begrudgingly leaves the farm to go on vacation. Surprisingly amiable re: this trip considering he went on vacation with the Sparks family in Jan. 2004. Never admits to actually “loving” Disney...but does love DW and DD and wants to spend some quality time with them.

Princess Charlotte- 2 Year Old...this will be her second trip to Disney...stands to inherit quite a bit of DVC pointage at some point in her lifetime. A character in and of herself. Sweetheart with an attitude, too smart for her own good...just your run of the mill toddler. Very excited about trip, loves to watch the vacation planning videos. Only request is to ride the teacups and see Belle and Jo Jo the Clown. She shouldn’t be too hard to please.


Anyway...this is our cast and crew. Planning has pretty much been delegated to Nicki with contributions of Grandma Gail. Nicki has the honor of making all the PS and finding fun and different things for these Disney Vets to do. Will she be able to pull off the ideal fun-filled Disney Vacation? Will the stomachs be pleasantly filled? Will everyone be on speaking terms upon traveling home? We will all find out in the continuing saga of the “McElwain Family Gets Welcomed Home.”
