So glad the packages are bringing sunshine in to the day for you guys! Hope the MRI is good and the surgery went well. My DD Irish dances too!

Last night marks exactly two weeks until departure. It is so hard to believe we still have so much to do to get ready!

It has also been a crazy 10 days in our house. We have had some great things happen with Danny’s graduation and Catherine’s talent show victory. The end of the school year is always exciting and we had two last day of school this week (it is ridiculous, but we had 6 different last days! Talk about an anti-climactic start to the summer. Bridgie finishes on Monday)

We have also had a full schedule at the hospital and clinics. We had 11 dr. appointments, 1 MRI, 1 surgery (Nora minor ear surgery) and a screaming 4 year old with a yucky virus (hand foot and mouth) She screamed all night on Wed. because her mouth hurt. Poor thing. We have been very fortunate that Bridget rarely catches anything.

So the scene is set for a busy stressful week and then the doorbell rang....

The Big Give
The doorbell rang early in the week and there was a package at the door. It had been a yucky day. I had 2 home sick with a virus. Nora had 103.5 fever and was absolutely miserable. Mary and Jack were both sick too. Nora is usually such a sweet girl and she literally screamed at me most of the previous night.

The kids came running inside with the box and were so excited when they saw it said Mickey Mail with 7 little Mickey heads. They didn’t know what it was, but anything with 7 Mickey heads had to be good!!!



It was our first Big Give!!! It was from mommy2mrb!!!

Notice the bubble wrap under Nora’s feet. Even the packaging was a hit!!! The sick kid had a blast popping all the bubbles.

What a fun first package too!!! There was something for each of the dwarfs so it was a perfect first. I admit I was assuming it would be just for the little ones. Bridgie opened it with all the little kids surrounding her. There was a treat bag for each of them with fun stuff for the ride and the time at Disney and GKTW!!! Hopefully, you can see some of the goodies. Mary received a princess sippy cup! Perfect for her time in the World. Bridget who loves hats socks blankets and anything warm was thrilled with her Alice and friends socks! Jack loved the Toy story glider. There were Mickey lollipops, glow sticks, card games, bracelets, pens. Jack Nora and Bridgie each got their own Disney cup.
It was so sweet and generous of her to include the big kids too. They each received a gift card and a Mickey lollipop! The big kids were so happy too even though ds looks like a goof ball in this picture

On Tuesday the dog started going absolutely nuts at the door. There were a few packages left by UPS . I told the kids that it was just the books I ordered from Amazon for Father’s Day. I put them on the table. The first box had both items I ordered and I couldn’t believe the other book I was expecting arrived so fast.

I took a second look and it wasn’t for me at all! It was from the Big Give!!! I called Bridget and told her it was a package for her. It was from mommy2girlswv!

She received a very cool fan and a travel bingo game. The fan arrived with perfect timing as I was just about to start searching amazon for one!!! And it is so cool too. It lights up! I can’t wait see it work. I am a fan of mommy2girlswv’s trip report so I know how much she loved this fan for her trip!!! Thank you for thinking of us! Bridget loved it and is so excited to attach it to her Royal Carriage! It will be really neat at the night time parades and fireworks. I promise to take a picture of it in use!

The travel bingo game is great. It should occupy some time for the long ride!!! thumbs up. Our last long car ride the portable dvd players I had kept running out of power and there was “some” bickering over who would get to use the ones in operation. I decided we are definitely planning more distractions this trip. This should be a fun one. I only took one photo as I was running out the door for one of the appointments last week.

Thank you mommy2girlswv!!! Say hi and thank you to January for us. Btw, we spend time in West Virginia as my parents have a home near Lewisburg. It is a beautiful state!

I buy all my dh books from Amazon too!!! I'm glad the fan came before you looked for one!! Tell the girls with long hair to Keep hair away!!! It's is very finger/hand safe!!! Also hope the Bingo game is fun and keep them busy for at least hr!! My dh's family haves camp in that part of West Virginia!!!

I buy so many books for the kids schooling and our enjoyment, as well as gifts and other things. We joined Amazon Prime a few years ago. I totally love not having to worry about shipping costs most of the time and to get it in 2 days is terrific.

On Wednesday Bridget had her MRI. MRI days are a little crazy as she always needs anesthesia. Bridget had to stop eating in the early a.m. . It is a two hour scan, so we have to plan to be at the hospital at least 4 – 6 hours . Bridget’s scan was early and she did amazing!!! Bridget the Brave triumphs again. We have probably had 20 MRI’s. She has needed anesthesia for all but one 5 minute mini-scan. It was awful. She is very noise sensitive due to where her tumor is. We usually do her MRI’s at night since she an older kid, so the staff is much smaller. We’ve never been able to “try” without fear they wouldn’t be able to then do anesthesia if she couldn’t get through it. The anesthesiologist was really encouraging though and give her medicine to relax her. They let her watch a movie through these special glasses for the whole time. She loved it so much I don’t think she will ever want the anesthesia again. Yeah Bridgie!!!

We arrived home after a victory stop at McDonalds for the requisite Happy Meal. My sister said “hey, there is a package on the island for you” I was thinking it was the Amazon package I was still waiting for. This was a Big Give package for Me!!!

I was so excited. I am such a little kid when it comes to presents. It was wrapped with Minnie colors, red paper with white polka dots. I am so mad I didn’t take a picture before I opened it because it was really adorable. I opened the card and it was so perfect , Snow White and the Prince dancing. The card itself was amazing. I think I’m going to frame it! Did you make that Ellen? If so, WOW!!!

Inside the package was the most amazing gift!!! Ellenbenny made me a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs bag!

If you look really close you can see the tears in my eyes…lol! This is so special. I had actually spent too much time the night before trying to order a bag that would fit my ipad DH bought me for my birthday and Mother’s Day combined, to use during the time I spend at appointments and the hospital. I saw on the Budget Board that Vera Bradley had one that was perfect at a perfect low price. The ipad has a case, but since we will be traveling wanted a bag for it as well. I made my choice and at midnight it disappeared. I gave up and went to bed really annoyed! I just planned to order something the next night.

This bag is absolutely perfect! The Ipad fits perfectly with a little extra room for some emergency meds for Bridgie and my wallet. I am so humbled and touched by the Big Give. Thank you so much Ellen.

I join Amazon Mom and got prime for free for a whole year!! My dh works a lot and it takes me 2hrs just to get ready to go to the dr office!! It's much easier to just order it on amazon and pick it up at the post office!! Only few more weeks and it's time to get on the road!! I know flighting is much faster, but I think Road trip will be more family fun!!

Yay, I am so excited that you got the bag!! Glad it will work for you. I hadn't even thought about it fitting an Ipad, but that is great. You are so very welcome.

I love all the Big Give stuff you have been getting, and your kids are all adorable, even the big ones!

I did make the card on my newest toy, my Cricut. It is very addicting, and I love having reasons to make stuff with it.

Glad everything went well with the MRI, Bridgie IS so brave.

Can't wait to continue to read along with the Big Give and the Wish trip. Seeing the kids (and Moms) with big smiles is just so rewarding.
