The Many Adventures of Bridgie the Boo Wish Trip -GKTW 6/27-7/3/11 PTR

Have fun, and thanks for updating. Can't wait to hear all about your trip!

Hi Ellen I was just stopping in to say I have been following this wonderful blog and I am so happy for the poster for getting this trip for her daughter.

But i wanted to say I checked out your blog and you are very talented. I tried to send you a pm message but I couldn't figure out how to. I have a cricut and LOVE it and am not far from you. Actually as I type this I am in Strong memorial with my son who is getting a dream trip to Disney/Cruise in September. Do you sell any of your creations?

Today was just a cruddy day. Bridget had her appointments at the Cancer Center. My two big kids are all at Camp Make-a-Dream, the sibling week at the camp in Montana and my next big kid is at Boy Scout camp. I had to take Bridget and the rest to the center with me today. Ugh! It was awful. They were running very behind at the clinics. I was there probably two hours longer than expected! To top it off on my way home I was pulled over and ticketed for speeding  So frustrating because it is this stretch of road that unexpectedly slows down. I have no idea why it is so slow there, but I know the cops like to hang out there. Duh! What a dope. I was so focused on getting Bridget something to eat and settling the crew down that I really had no idea what I did wrong. I also think I need to have my speedometer looked at. I am fairly certain it is registering about 3-4 mph slower, not enough to matter on the ticket. But, if it was accurate, I might not have been pulled over at all. Excuses, excuses.!Anyway, bummer. My husband is now calling me "Mario", but he was very sweet about it and is taking us all to see Cars 2 tonight! (Now, I am wondering if it because it is a movie about race cars!):lmao:

:cool1: Here are some of the Big Gives I didn’t get to post before we left. If you remember I lost my camera, had a sick baby, and assorted other problems, 7 of them ;)

pixiedust: A package arrived the week before we left addressed to Snow White and her Prince. Wdwmickey sent the most awesome scrapbook I have honestly ever seen in my life. I was so moved by the fact that this was sent to DH and myself. Words can not express what a special gift this is. The cricut dwarfs for each child's picture that her daughter made are just amazing. I have no idea how those are done, but they are just awesome!!! They made pages for all the parks and special events we were attending and each page is special. I want to post all of them but I will limit it to a few favorites.

I am very challenged when it comes to getting my photos into albums. We have a lot of photos on the computer, but the last album I made was Patrick’s baby book and he is 19!!! Those that get printed usually end up In a box! I have great intentions, but I am just not very crafty in this fashion. At one time I bought two albums to do and well, they are empty. It took me four hours to make one page to insert…lol! This is such a special gift that we will treasure forever. I’m already picking out the photos . Thank you so much for this awesome gift WDWMickey! :thanks:

:cheer2: Kstgelais4 made Nora and Mary patriotic Fab 5 dresses and a skirt and top for Bridgie!!! They are so cute and patriotic. They absolutely loved wearing these and they are just so adorable. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this festive wear for the girls. I loved hearing how you have a big family too. party: I was honestly surprised by the number of big families at GKTW. We were definitely not the only large clan. The girls loved having holiday wear over the weekend and another Big Giver sent them patriotic flip flops. They looked terrific. God bless America!!! :thanks: kstgelais4

We have never been really successful with the character autographs. We tried pillow cases one year, but that ended up to be a big pain and I wished I had painted their names in the middle to start because they all got mixed up. The Disney autograph books just are not very sturdy. I was so excited when the kids received the sturdiest autograph books ever from hmdelf. They are so cute and I am still amazed by them. I will post more in my trip report, but we had the best autograph experience ever. We have almost every princess, superhero, Disney Fab 5 and then some. They loved these. I loved that they were easy for the characters to sign and me to handle. Awesome!!! Hmdelf also sent embroidered shirts for the girls with Minnie dressed as “their” princess. Nora had Cinderella, Mary had Belle and Bridget had Snow White. They matched perfectly the skirts the girls received from Fruto76. The girls all wore the matching outfits to our amazing meet and greet in the Castle with the Royal Court (more on this later;) Jack received an adorable Mickey “Woody” head shirt. All so cute and so appreciated. Thank you so much Hmdelf!!! :thanks:

Sorry if the photos are huge. I'm having trouble with my photobucket and am giving up!

Thanks for following along. I don't know if Ellen will see this or not, but I believe that dis members are not allowed to sell anything affiliated with their dis membership. Someone correct me if I am wrong. I know many have recommended Etsy. If you do a search of Disney so many wonderful hand crafted items come up. Good luck as you plan your dream trip. Make sure you visit the wish trippers thread if you haven't been there already. How wonderful that he is going to get his wish to go on the Disney cruise. :cheer2: Oh, and I fully agree. Ellen is amazingly talented!

:welcome: back and so glad to hear you had a great time:goodvibes

Thank so much. It was truly wonderful! Bridgie had an awesome time with the gift card you sent. She bought herself a special gift at downtown Disney and fun twirly lollipops for all the dwarfs. We kept the card as a souvenir. So cute!!!

Sorry for the rough day you had yesterday but thanks for the pics! We look forward to hearing more, when you have time. :)

Thanks Jen. That was my therapy yesterday. I enjoy sharing the Big Give and thanking all of you that participated. I am still honestly in awe. Yesterday, unfortunately, reminded me I am not in a magic kingdom anymore. :lmao:

I had read that Cars 2 was not getting good reviews. I honestly think I liked it better than the first. DH, the kids and I had the theatre completely to ourselves last night.

More Big Give tonight!

 I am so happy. I love all the choices they have for the cards, but when I saw that one I knew it was for your family:lmao:

The day before we left a really fun gift arrived from Ballet mom and her family. They were Ramada Hotel trays (no worries she assured me they are from a thrift store and she wasn’t “hitting up every Ramada for trays” :lmao: )They use these trays for long car rides and she sent a huge array of stickers to decorate them. They arrived at the perfect time because the dwarfs, big and little, needed a fun distraction from the mom packing panic. We cleared off the kitchen table and they just had a blast! They were indeed perfect for the car ride. I am proud to say with all they had to do, the electronics were at a real minimum. With some of the extra stickers, my dd made a behavior chart for Nora, Jack and Bridget. It was a real motivator for Jack and Nora and they were on their best car behavior! Bridget is always on her best behavior, but she enjoyed reaping the rewards as well.

042-1.jpg

I have no idea where Jack’s shirt is!!! I am assuming I made him model a big give shirt and he took it off for the picture.

Ballet mom also made pillowcases for Mary, Nora, Jack and Bridget. They have their names appliqued on them. They were perfect for our trip down as they all brought a pillow. It was also really fun to have them in their room at GKTW when Mayor Clayton came to tuck them in. Bridgie is so excited to take hers to Camp Quality, a cancer camp, this weekend. Thanks so much Balletmom! :thanks:

pirate:
ARRG! Wyomingmomofsix sent Jack and Danny pirate shirts she made. She made Jack the buccaneer shorts as well. They are all so cute! Danny was thrilled to be included and loves his shirt. He loves Pirates of the Caribbean so this was perfect for him. Jack loves his pirate outfit and wore it a ton on the trip. Thank goodness for laundry at GKTW! :laundy: In fact he was swashbuckling around the house with it yesterday as well. Thank you so much for this fun clothing for me Mateys! :thanks:

449-1.jpg

:cheer2: Chrissyjb sent some terrific activity treats for the four little dwarfs!!! These items were awesome in the car! They are fun distractions. Mary received some board books and a sippy. Jack received a heroes coloring book and woody felt marker and a color canvas activity. Nora received an Alice coloring book, a crown, tink coloring activity and Bridgie received a dominoes a word search lip gloss, stamps and some other fun stuff. These items were so great on our ride down there. They also helped to minimize the electronics which I loved! :thanks Thanks so much Chrissyjb !!!

Photobucket has been really weird the last 2 days. It won't let me rotate my images. I have even logged out and redownloaded the pics. Ugh. I guess I will try to edit if I can figure it out tomorrow.

Thank you so much Balletmom, Wyomingmomofsix, and Chrissyjb!!! Last of the Big Give tomorrow and then on to the trip report. Can't wait to share all the fun.

I had read that Cars 2 was not getting good reviews. I honestly think I liked it better than the first. DH, the kids and I had the theatre completely to ourselves last night.

More Big Give tonight!

I took my girls to see Cars 2 last week. We all loved it. I had been worried because I had seen that the reviews weren't great. I guess that the critics were wrong on this one :)

I love all the Big Give stuff that you posted today. The trays were a great idea for the car. I love that your DD made the behavior chart for the little ones:rotfl: I can't wait for your trip report!

More great photos! I can't imagine taking that long of a car trip with that many kids so I am so glad everyone's big give items really came in handy. Photobucket is so annoying sometimes! I often wish I could link my photos right from my computer hard drive to the DIS.

We look forward to more Big Give and to the Trip! :cheer2::cheer2:

Welcome home! Love all the BG stuff and can't wait to hear about all the fun you had in your TR!

 OK. This is just so weird. I posted the boys pirate picture last night and it was sideways. I fiddled with photobucket for a ridiculous amount of time and finally gave up. It appeared on the thread sideways last night and now today it is the right way. Maybe a little pixiedust even though their pirates! :tinker:pirate:

::MinnieMo The girls all had a neat package arrive from Clarksburg, WV, with a primarily Minnie theme. We have the address, but no disname. It was Minnie flip flops for all the girls. There are so adorable. Red flip flops with Minnie dot ribbon around them. She also made the cutest Minnie bag . We loaded all our important travel stuff in there. Our GKTW packet, our maps, Along the I 75 book and any other necessities on our trip. It was the perfect size. She also sent a cuteMinnie purse, Disney cups ,some glowsticks, chapsticks, Body splash and a nail file for Catherine. Jack received Lightning McQueen socks and some cars fun. This was a fun package! The girls got a lot of wear out of the flip flops, especially to the pool. Nora wore hers everywhere!!! They were also great in the car as they were easy to get off and on.

Mary wanted her feet to show too!

Jack was making it difficult to get a nice picture. I solved the problem!!!

134-1.jpg

That’s better!

Thanks to our friends from Clarksburg. My parents spend a lot of time in WV and we love it there. :thanks:

:cheer2: Purple Ears sent the girls really cute travel jewelry bags that she made. Nora received Tinkerbell, Bridget received Minnie, and Catherine received a more mature Minnie Dot. They are so cute and easy to pack. I like that it is easy to keep jewelry safe without the girls zipping it in a suitcase pocket or purse. Nora bought a really cute necklace at downtown Disney so it has a place. She also made Nora a sweet reversible romper with Winnie the Pooh and friends on one side and Minnie dot on the other. So very cute! I am a huge Winnie the Pooh fan since I was a little girl. Can't wait to see the new movie and Mary will be wearing her outfit! Thank you so much for taking the time to make these gifts for our girls. :thanks: Purple Ears

:yay: My Disney Kids sent a package “For mom’s eyes only” . It was an awesome travel amusements gift bag with a ton of fun things for the car. :car: There were maze toys, card games, arts and crafts fun. All sorts of great things for traveling. It was so thoughtful of them to have it be a surprise. I kept it tucked away and until the middle of our ride down. Thank you so much My Disney Kids! This was so great. :thanks:

:tinker: Some pixie dust arrived just for Catherine! She received a very special gift from Judy S. I hope I didn’t miss a disname. It is the cutest Dopey bag ever. She loves it. Unfortunately, I will have to post a pic of it later as it went to camp with her in Montana and I forgot to make sure I took one before she left. Judy, thanks so much for this special gift for our undopey Dopey. :thanks: I promise a pic on Sunday along with a few others I “owe”

:woohoo: A few hours before we left (just in time!) an awesome patriotic gift arrived for the girls. Red White and Blue flip flops and hair attire for the 4th of July. They are just so cute and it was the givers first attempt at making flip flops! Hard to believe! I wish my first attempts at things were this good. Thank you so much. Unfortunately, in the rush to get out the door I misplaced the lovely note she wrote and neglected to record who sent it. My bad! I can only plead complete stress getting those dwarfs out the door :lmao: I know it will turn up in our computer room which is a disaster right now. I wanted to thank her though so she knows we received them. The girls loved wearing them on the 4th especially. We had a big pool day that day! God bless America! :thanks: my disfriend! The girls all wore the hair bows out to dinner that night. So cute!

Stay tuned for the last of the Big Give...surprise gifts at Give Kids the World!

party: We left town with such an amazing Big Give, but there was more!!!

princess: Teresajoy made the 3 little girls princess dresses!!! She is so talented! The dresses are gorgeous and the girls absolutely loved wearing them. What a fun surprise they received when I brought the package back from the House of Hearts. I was so glad that Teresa pm’d me that it was there as it got placed under the counter at GKTW. I am sure it would have eventually gotten to us, but I am not sure when. It was just the little ones and I at the villa as Brian had gone to pick up the big kiddos at Universal. We had such a fun modeling session after Mayor Clayton tucked them in. Yes, they got out of bed :lmao:

Teresajoy made Bridget a gorgeous Cinderella dress. As many of you know Bridget loves Snow White, but she had told me she really wanted to dress as Cinderella at CRT as she had been Snow White for Halloween a few years back. She looked absolutely royal for our lunch. It brought tears to my eyes how truly beautiful she looked! Teresa made Nora the Mice Made dress from Cinderella. When the stepsisters and Lady Tremain saw Nora at the parade, they marched right over to her and gave her the business. “That dress is much to fine to be mice made it must be tailor made” Of course, for our sweet belle of the ball, Mary, she made Belle’s ball gown. All three of them looked precious. Thank you so much Teresa for this extra joy! It was a tremendous gift and so appreciated, especially knowing the machine problems you had during their creation. :thanks:

Posing as Minnie taught them early that morning!
disney196.jpg

Mary’s Belle dress. She was not being very cooperative in modeling her dress!

disney198.jpg

:ccat: We arrived home to our villa one evening and there was a package on our table. It was from Sue W. Inside was a truly amazing surprise! In the box were Gorgeous Alice dresses for Bridget, Nora and Mary for the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party! They were each embroidered with a different saying. Mary’s said "Alice in Wonderland", Nora’s “I’m late, I’m late for a very important date” and Bridget’s “Curious and Curiouser” They looked so cute as we arrived at the tea party. I absolutely adore these dresses and I’m planning a tea party at home or at our local tea room around Bridgie’s birthday just so they can wear them again at a tea!!! So fun! For some reason I can’t find the pictures I took when they arrived at the village. I think I had Patrick take the pics on his phone and he is at camp. I will post some pics from the day they wore the dresses so you all can see just how adorable they are.

This was the best pic I had of Bridge other than the ones with Alice. You can see the embroidery so that is good. More on why she is plopped in bed on my trip report. Her time in bed was short though.

:thanks: Thank you so much Sue. These are so beautifully made and such a wonderful surprise for me as well!

:cheer2: One other gift arrived at GKTW. It was the most amazing package of 4th of July wear. Hurray for the Red White and Blue! There were dresses for the 3 little girls, embroidered with fireworks and Mickey heads and embroidered shirts for the other 4 dwarfs with adorable different patriotic Mickey heads. Such a thoughtful and fun gift!

This package is a bit of a mystery as it arrived at GKTW and ended up repackaged before GKTW delivered it (long and understandable story). I think they assumed if I was receiving a package I would know who it was from…lol! The gifts were all still wrapped and addressed, but there was no note. The only thing they had logged was Wings. I don’t know if that is a last name, a disname or an air freight company. That was the only information the guest services desk had when I talked to them. So will the real big giver please stand up? We all just LOVE this fun clothing. The kids even wore them to our local arts and crafts fair we went to after we returned. We can always show our love of Disney and our patriotic spirit even after the 4th, right?!!

On a side note, my very first Disney World trip was with my mom and dad for the bicentennial in 1976. I still remember the awesome parade with all the characters decked out red white and blue! :thanks: so much my mystery disfriend!

You're very welcome. My DD14 and I had a lot of fun designing it.

I'm so glad to hear that Catherine likes the bag and that it's gone to camp with her! We were hoping it would be something that she would be able to use after the trip as well.

We're looking forward to reading your trip report and hearing about all of the fun all of the dwarfs had along the way.

Judy

:cloud9: I am still in awe of the Big Give. I think we all will remain that way. The gifts from strangers now friends made our trip so incredibly special. I can't believe the time, talent and treasure that went into all of the special items we received. You have brought us all such joy as we planned for, enjoyed and "recover" from Bridget's the Brave's incredible wish trip. Thank you to all of you who were part of the Big Give. We greatly appreciated all the kind words and the prayers as well. It was truly the trip of a lifetime, made so much more special by all of you!

pixiedust: A special thanks to the first spreader of pixiedust, billwendy! Billwendy helped coordinate our Big Give. We are so blessed that she saw Bridgie's story and contacted me. Thank you so much for all the time you spent making sure Bridget's dreams all came true. We are truly grateful.

I don't know if there are words enough to express how much the Big Give has meant to us. Weeks of surprises and love has been like a giant hug from all of you. God bless all of you for your kindness, generosity and love. :grouphug:

I am looking forward to sharing all the fun we had on our trip report!

I am so glad you saw the post. I was a little afraid after I posted that you might not see it without a pic since it was tucked in the middle. Thank your daughter for us as well please!
