Geeze it’s early. Mickey, why did you have to wake us up? Why? Oh yeah, we gotta get to the castle! It’s 6am. Just a few more minutes though, please? Shoot it’s 6:15, time to really get up! I hop in the shower first and get ready in about 30 minutes. T also takes 30 minutes. It’s all good.

Remember how I told you that I had a bad feeling about Summer when we checked in last night? Now I am remembering why. She forgot to ask us about E-ride night! And I forgot to ask too! I remind T to remind me when we get downstairs to ask the front desk about E-ride tickets. He has the valet get our car while I get the tickets. Cost: $25.56 tax included. We leave for MK in our car around 7:40am. We decided to take our car because we wanted to be on time that early in the morning, and we didn’t want any troubles or fight any crowds after E-ride night at 1am. We get front row parking, wow, there are only about 20 cars in the lot! Hm I don’t remember having to take the monorail from the parking lot to get to the MK. Oh well, I have bad memory. We get to the gate at 7:55am, no lines at security, give our names for our CRT PS to a CM, and we are in! Main Street, WOW! It’s a beautiful day and I’m smiling to myself. Ok, I’m grinning ear to ear actually. And here’s a picture to prove it.

And I just know T is grinning ear to ear inside. :teeth:

We make our way to the castle at 8:05ish and are seated right away. When we enter, we find everyone body waiting for the elevator so T says we should take the spiral stairs. Great idea!

We are seated and I am still grinning…

Our waitress is very friendly, and the food is good. I love the French toast, but would have liked crispier bacon. No Princesses in sight. I’m getting restless.
Here they come! Ok, is it just me, or are they all starting on the complete opposite side of the room? Is it just me, or are they seeming to stop at everyone’s table before reaching ours? Finally, Snow White stops by to say hi! So does Mary Poppins! Princess Aurora also stops by and makes me do a princess stance with her. Of course my eyes are closed in the picture, but what’s new? (No, I’m not posting that here!) Alice is so sweet, it’s the first time I’ve met her! T thanks Cinderella for inviting us to join her in her beautiful castle! We finally finish eating.(Cost: $31.00 tip included minus deposit) I can’t finish my food, I’m too excited to eat. T licks his plate clean, but wants his picture with Snow White too, so we wait for her to come around again. Oh gosh, it’s 9:05am! The parks just opened, what are we still doing inside the castle? We race downstairs into the foyer where the Fairy Godmother is sitting with a little girl. Sorry Fairy Godmother, not this trip, we have to run!

I tell T we have to do Fantasyland first because the only ride I’ve ever done here are Dumbo and the Tea Cups. So we do Snow White, It’s a Small World (this ride seems long!), and Peter Pan, all with no lines. I am feeling so spoiled.

We head to Tomorrowland to ride Alien Encounter, Space Mountain, and Buzz. Again no lines. Helloooooooo, where is everybody?!

We have to stop in front of the castle to get our picture taken. We trade cameras with a couple of girls and do the picture thing. It’s almost 11am so we cross the park and go to Adventureland. Ok, here’s where everybody is. In line for the Jungle Cruise! We grab a FP for that, ride Pirates and the Tiki Room with no lines. Adventureland is crowded. We buy a couple of waters(Cost: $5.00) and people-watch in front of the spitting camel at Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride. I’m fighting hard to control my laughter while I watch those poor unsuspecting first-timers get spit on. Of course, I am happy that part of my shirt is wet from that stupid camel. It was hot out, I stood in the way on purpose! Hey it’s Rafiki, I love that guy!

We FP’d our way through the Jungle Cruise and Splash Mountain. I hate this ride. I never want to go on it. But I always do. I’m freaking out so T had to buy the photo afterwards. (Cost:$13.80 tax included)

We mosey on over to Toontown which I don’t think I’ve ever been. I get a kick out of Mickey and Minnie’s house, especially Mickey’s tomato garden and cactus garden. And those pumpkins!

It’s almost 2:30pm, and we are famished! Food, please! We stop by Cosmic Rays. Why? It’s air-conditioned. I love my burger that I load up with grilled mushrooms and onions. T has the first of many hot dogs on this trip. We split our fries and carrots. Cost: $13.45, not bad!

As we leave Tomorrowland we catch the tail-end of the Share a Dream Come True Parade. Those snowglobes have to be air-conditioned. It’s time for our late afternoon rest if we ever want to make it through E-ride tonight. We stop by City Hall on our way out to trade our E-ride cards in for our wristbands. Ok, now we’re feelin’ special!

We hop on the ferry back to WL for some much needed rest. I love the boat ride. It’s so relaxing and the cool breeze is just paradise! We head up to our room and T tells me to come look at something. It’s Mickey’s head! I run to the bathroom to see if there is anything else. A swan! I don’t think I actually fall asleep, but it’s nice just to have some quiet time. Before we know it, it’s time to do the boat/monorail thing to make our 8:30pm PS at ‘Ohana! We arrive about 10 minutes early. It’s my first time at this resort and I just soak it all in. T begins to remember something about this resort.

“Hm, maybe this is where I stayed when I was little, not that other place.” (Contemporary)

I walk by Kona Café and make a mental note to come back here for breakfast one day. Or dessert. We check-in at the podium, and I tell the hostess that we are willing to wait for a good window table to view the fireworks. She makes a note of it on our check-in card, but proceeds to tell us they can’t guarantee anything, it could be 45 minutes, yada yada yada. She hands us our flashy/vibrating square and we sit on the couch in the lounge. Our square demands our attention 10 minutes later, and we meet our hostess at the podium. She asks us to follow her because she is taking us to the best table in the house! And she wasn’t kidding! We are sitting directly in front of the castle with nothing at all blocking our view! We’re feeling lucky now, let me pick some lottery numbers! Boy this sure is a LOT of food. Our waiter comes by and asks me if I would like some shrimp, I say sure, but just a couple. The appetizers, steak and turkey pretty much stuffed me already. He gives me about 5 of those shrimps and asks me if that’s enough. Before I can answer he gives me about 10 more, almost the entire skewer! Oh boy. I eat as many as I can. T is so stuffed even he can’t help me like he normally does! But we have to order that mandarin orange cake the hostess showed us as we walked by the dessert stand earlier. T and I split that, and I feel like a big ol’ lard, vowing never to eat another meal again.(Cost: $65.42 tip included)

Around 9:30pm the lights dim and the Fantasy In The Sky music is being piped into the restaurant. T’s impressed, mentioning how much coordination that must take. Ha ha, I think, he’s a tiny step closer to becoming a Disneyholic. My evil scheme is working! The fireworks are awesome. We can even make out Tinkerbell’s light from here! I can’t wait to see her up close next weekend when we see the fireworks from inside the park!

Whoa, it’s 10:10pm, we’re missing precious E-ride minutes! We race outta there and catch the next monorail to MK. I’m not going to go into too much detail here because we basically rode multiple rides, multiple times, with no lines at all. We even did Astro Orbiter with no lines! I’m so happy the sun went down as it’s much cooler now! We run into Mickey and Minnie that night too. Wow, both at the same time, we hit the mother load! Goofy was also hanging around. T’s just as tall as Goofy, whaddayaknow?

It’s 1am, time to head back. Oh, here comes Dale. Hi Dale! Here comes Chip! He’s opening his arms, I have to give him a hug! He links his arm around mine, and starts skipping up towards the castle. “Where are we going, Chip?” He motions going to sleep and points to the castle. “You sleep in the castle too?” He nods. He is so cute! He stops midway to the castle and takes my hand. He looks down at my left hand and points to my ring finger and shrugs. He points at T, who is standing there in the courtyard fumbling with the camera and smiling. Chip points at my finger again and I shrug back. He points at T again and twiddles his thumbs. I nod and shrug back. Chip gets down on one knee and proposes right in front of the castle! My giddy meter is reading 10! I’m thinking I hope T is getting a picture of this, it’s my magical moment! Chip gives me a kiss good night and I wave good bye to him. Ok, now I was really grinning from ear to ear. I didn’t want to leave the park! :teeth: One more photo of the castle with Walt and Mickey!

We kind of have trouble finding our way to the car, but eventually make it. Ours is the only one in the entire lot, how weird! Well, not too weird, it IS almost 1:30am.

We head back to WL and park about 3 miles away from the main building. I swear, it’s the furthest self-parking space at the entire resort! We head to our room, but not before taking a photo of the cute totem pole. Its so cool to be in the lobby when it’s completely empty. Nothing was stirring, not even a….CM! We sleep like babies, we are so exhausted!

Yes, they are air-conditioned, but the poor drivers have nothing but a small fan! I learned this while on a Backstage Magic tour. I also learned that the characters dress/undress in the globe so that they do not ruin their costumes, and that the princesses dresses are more elaborate (Cindy’s dress is something like $10k) than the ones they were in the park because guests can not damage them by contact!

I will also be amazed and impressed at the lengths Disney goes to in order to make the magic as magical as possible!

You write a great report!! Thanks sor sharing!!

>>^..^<< ,

Well now that you mention it, it does look like I'm about to put Chip in a head-lock or something. :p

And LT Hambone, you won't believe how many times I was reminded of your Mug Men post while I was there. Especially when one Mug Man had a tray of about 8 mugs to fill for his family, LOL!

Love your reports, isn't the WL the best place. Oh, but tell T that unless he has been to WDW since 1994, then it wasn't WL that he stayed at, that is when they opened (May '94).

You write such fun reports!!

So, did T get the hint from Chip? ;) ;)
