I wanted to give you guys a head's up in case anyone uses Borghese. I've been using the mud (Fango) forever because it's incredible for shrinking pores & helping to dry up breakouts. I worked in a snooty dept store when I was in college & got hooked on the Borghese products but they're so crazily expensive that I had to stop once I no longer had my employee discount,

Beauty.com currently has 2 Borghese sets on sale for 36.75 each. The sets are a crazy deal if you like Borghese because the items are all full or half sized products. Plus the straw bag is very cute :). But the main reason that I jumped on these sets was for the moiturizer with SPF. They're very light & completely non greasy or sticky so they soak right into your skin.

As it turns out I'm pretty much loving everything else. I ordered the Pampering set...the Spa Lift for eyes is very nice & my undereye spackle pretty much glides on when I use this stuff (rather than creasing). The hand & foot creams are just luxurious. Even the bodywash. I've been sneaking off to the upstairs bathroom for my own personal spa retreat :rotfl:.

It's just a great opportunity to try some of this stuff if you've ever been intrigued by it. Plus there's also a tube of the Fango which is truly awesome stuff. You'll look like the creature from the Black Lagoon when you're wearing it but your skin will thank you.

I'm using something from Costco called Borghese. Same stuff? I looked at beauty.com like you mentioned and the packaging is totally different. I love mine!!!

I was the one who told you to try the Eye Hope Advanced and I am so glad you like it. I just got my full size one Saturday...I was working off the samples they gave me when they did my facial at NOrdstroms. I love it! According to the person who did my facial it has Nicinimide in it and that is what Dr. Oz claims lightens the circles. It is extremely expensive IMHO because it is 49.00 for .5 oz.

:thumbsup2 I knew it was someone with Belle (or something similar) in their name, but couldn't remember exactly who. But, I do owe you a huge thank you because I really, really love that stuff. :cloud9: I have never used a product that works as well as actually does what it says it will do.

Wow, $49.00 for just the Advanced Eye Hope? :scared: I'm glad I got the TSV when I did. $90 for that, plus Purity cleanser, the retinol cream, moisterizer and exfoliator was a awesome deal. And it does help that I have really like all of that stuff too. :lovestruc

It must be...I didn't know they sold it at Costco! If the names of everything are in Italian then it's got to be.

What a dope, I meant to post a link to the 2 Borghese sets on beauty.com:http://www.drugstore.com/templates/brand/default.asp?brand=54778&list=1&filter=onsale&fdesc=On%20Sale&prodcount=2&trx=MNYS&trxp1=54778&trxp2=3&trxp3=onsale&trxp4=2

BTW- the Philosophy eye cream that works for dark circles. Is it only available at Nordstroms?

No, but it just came out May 1 and Philosophy's site won't even have it until like the 24th. I got mine as part of a set that they have on QVC. It is called the Advanced makeup optional kit. If you need and/or like Philosophy's cleanser and stuff it is a good deal still.

Well here is a link to the Costco website.

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11321260&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US

Again, it doesn't look anything like the product you showed at beauty.com but it is Kirkland packaging for Costco so maybe it's the same stuff? I have no idea! I want to try the mascara. It comes in a two pack for $21.99 I think.

I think it's the exact same stuff, just different packaging. How interesting! Plus the Costco prices are great. Like the SPF 15 protective mosturizer appears to be the exact same thing as the Cura di Vita Protettivo Protective Moisturizer SPF 15. Less than half of the price...for nearly twice as much product!

That's the kit & my BFF bought as well!!!!! Really good stuff & it was a great deal!!

Tonight I'm going to a concert & it's going to be SOOOOO hot outside I will give you gals a report on the new Smashbox gel liner I bought & have never tried.

I have only been using it for about 2 months now, but I like it a lot. I haven't seen the "mud" you mentioned though, so that would be something to get on the other website. I have been thinking about their mineral makeup, but I read the reviews and people seemed to think it was too dark, even the lightest color. I'm probably going to try Everyday Minerals instead, as soon as I go through enough samples to find my color. :thumbsup2

It is actually the same stuff but they call it Kirkland Borghese so that they make it for Costco. They have the mud sometimes but they have lots of other products from this line. I have purchased a few and was not thrilled. It used to be an elite line that you could get in maybe Lord and Taylor or NOrdstroms but now it is not so much. I have never used the skin products or the mud so I might give it a try when I am in Costco next time.

BTW Costco has Strivectin and I think they have the product that grows your eyelashes too!

Well they did give me a free gift..it was a 1oz Hope in a Jar, 30 Microdermabrasion pads, Amazing Grace in a spray bottle and their shampoo, body wash, bubble bath in Margurita(6 oz). It was a pretty good gift so I do not feel so bad. I know they have it on QVC so I will keep on the look out for it because I would love to get it for less money. I do however really, really love it.

I did not like the mascara in fact it was the worst mascara I had ever had. Great Lash by Mabelline was even better.

How is everyone??

You girlies are chatty today!

Borghese - I think they have 2 seperate packaging, however it's the same product. One is for mass retailers (Costco) and one is for the snooty mall stores. Good products, though!!

That Aldi's brand stuff - it's nice. I'm impressed. I was expecting breakouts...but none. I like it a whole lot (and you cant beat the price!)

St Ives Microdermabrasion stuff (with the little crystals) - I'm mentioning this because I found it on clearance on Target for $3. It would have been worth more than that. It's very nice!!

What else did i miss?

Hey CR,
Have you checked out the brushes on the EM site. I want the Foptic one b/c it is 30 at Sephora and only ten on EM. Also, Bc is supposed to be having another Stila sale. I am hoping they have the shadow pans. I want to fill my pallet. Also have you tried the conealer from Coastal Scents? I want that too but I am leary .

Anyone use Blistex Cream under lip stick. I love it. For some reason my lipstick was bleeding and then I remembered this trick and it gives your lipstick a subtle gloss and makes it a tad bit sheer.

What else did i miss?

Did you see where I posted the Stila code? 40% off and free shipping.

Stilapro is the code.

I have another sample of foundation. This is Lancome Renergie Lift in clair 30. My mom thinks it is too dark, but I am really loving this one. I love the dewy finish. Maybe I'll walk into a different Macy's and see if I am color matched with the same color. It's insanely expensive but you get some really cool GWPs with it. And since it's a GWP, it doesn't count towards my no buy.

I am having problems on the EM site. They changed it since I got my make up a while ago. Anyway, I was trying to buy some brushes (emilynoel83 on youtube) and then get the free kit. I cannot get the make up to drag to the cart. It is driving me crazy! Before you just had to click on what you wanted and it went to the cart. The dragging thing is too much.

Anyone who just purchased from Everyday Minerals...what am I doing wrong. I click and drag then it prompts me to choose my color and strength and when I click on sample it adds it as an extra sample and not to the sample kit.

BTW anyone use the EM brushes?

Also, I got the contour pallet and the conceler pallet from Coastal Scents. They had some good reviews ...I was going to buy the brushes but too many people said they smelled like a barn yard and that was enough for me NOT to buy them. I will use just about anything on my face(i.e. prep h, monoststat) except animal dung!:rotfl:

 That drag and drop thing on EM sites is a PITA isn't it? This is what I do and it normally works.

1)Put the sample kit in the cart (you have to do this first or it thinks you are just buying a sample size. Why anyone would do that with base colors, I don't know, but I guess some do.)
2) go to the base page under makeup and select the color that you want in the pictures of all the different colors
3) click and drag the color to the cart box (this is were it gets to be a PITA because if your screen has the color you want below the cart box, you can't scroll and drag at the same time, but it normally works okay if you drop it close to the box, it doesn't have to be exact and as long as the color is showing even slightly on the screen you can pick it up to drag so make sure you have the screen scrolled down as much as possible)
4) after you get it in the box, you should then only need to pick the type of foundation finish you want (ie matte, intensive). If I remember correctly a box will pop up with the stuff to select. If you are selecting the type and size on the main base makeup page it isn't in the cart as a part of the sample kit.

Hope this helps and doesn't confuse you even more.

I don't blame you for not wanting those brushes from Coastal Scents. I would draw the line at using anything that smells like animal dung on my face too. ;)

By the way, have you tried any of there makeup before now? I was looking at the gel eyeliner. It looks similar to the Mac Fluidline, but it is like 1/2 the price. I'm always scared to try new brands, but it is tempting.

If Costco ever has the mud, grab it. The stuff is really great.

I'm not wild about the Borghese makeup itself (more below) but the creams and spa products are really, really nice. I've noticed that some deep wrinkles around my eyes have gotten less noticeable since I've been using the spa lift for eyes.

Borghese used to be Princess Marcella Borghese and the colors & makeup were luxurious and fabulous! Now, not so much. I've been underwhelmed with any of the makeup type stuff that I tried. But the beauty.com sets are a great way to test drive some of the skin stuff without making a huge commitment.

OMG, you made me realize that I actually have a tip to share!

Paula Dorf (who :rotfl:?) makes something called Perfect Illusion which is designed to stop your listick from feathering & bleeding. I would never wear red lipstick because this was such a horrorshow for me but the Perfect Illusion stopped that dead. It's a clear, matte primer that goes on your lips (and around the edges) prior to your lip pencil & lipstick. Lipstick will NOT feather. I've used it with deep reds and my lipstick refuses to stray off of my lips.

I'm sure that other brands make something similar but I swear by the Paula Dorf stuff whenever I'm wearing my dramatic lips :lmao:.

Thanks I will try again. BTW, there are reviews below each product on CS and that is how I knew the animal dung thing with the brushes. Obviously, they are true reviews or the site owners would not let people say the brushes smell like excrement. I had a ton of them in the cart and then one by one I dumped them as I read the review. Same thing with the eye shadow that is supposed to compare to MAC. That being said, go and check out the gel liner and see what the reviews say. The draw back to that site is youneed to spend like 30 or 40 to make it worth while b/c shipping is 12.00 up to 45.00! So they get you one way or another.

If you were one of those who wanted the Stila gel liner trio for 12 on Beauty Crunch it is back in stock. Just look at the box in the lower right on the home page that something like "for our loyal customers".
