I can't reccomend anything cheaper. I love Too Faced Lash Injection and BLINC Mascara (with Blinc being $25). Now, I will say, I wanted a cheapee mascara to use, and picked up Maybellline Great Lash Big Brush, and I actually like it - for what it is. A cheap mascara. You could give that one a whirl.

I'll have to try the Great Lash with the big brush. I have used the old version before and that stuff STAYS...But it was...IDK....Weird to me after using the Too Faced. The Too Faced is like, SOFTER, if that makes sense.

I'll keep looking around. Thanks!

Welcome. I love it.

I bought a Kindle Fire, last week. You should get one of those, too.  I have glowing skin, and a cool way to read books and get on the internet. I just need 4 men to fan me with palms, and I'm all set.

:lmao::lmao:I have an abandoned nook and a netbook...so I'm covered there. If you find the 4 men, let me know!

oh boy i would have never known about clarisonic until this thread, and now i think i need one ! :).... gonna go look at sephora tomorrow and might order the one from skinstore for 95 (mia) thanks for the tips! went back and forth between trying olay or mia, but i think i'll spring for it!

Shellac, Gel nails ....anyone do this at home? I watched a couple of Youtube videos and it does not look like you need to be a tech to do it. I am betting Cathryn Rose has some info. I am looking at a Gellish starter set on Amazon and thinking of getting a UV light. It is 50.00 at the salon and I like to have the independence of doing it whenever I want.

Guys,

I cannot believe there is no one on this thread who has info on this stuff. I want to try it but there must be someone who does it at home.

Sorry I can't be of help, but I'm like you. I've watched youtube videos on gel nails, but haven't brought myself to do it at home.

Hopefully someone will post who can be of help. :thumbsup2

Sorry - I haven't even had the gels/shellac done at a salon, although I do admire the results on a regular basis!

Has anyone ever bought mini nail polish bottles? I notice that Sephora by OPI has nail polish sets that contain 0.12 oz bottles, and they are really tiny bottles! How many applications can you get out of those?

There's a new Sephora by OPI set that hasn't come out yet, so I have time to decide if I want to get it. I think it comes out next month:

I just had to share something with all of you!

A few weeks ago I noticed that Sephora had changed their free B-Day gift this year, and I was really bummed that I had to wait until August to get it. Well, my husband got the idea to sign up as a V.I.B himself and his birthday is 1/12, so I would get the B-Gift now, and again in August for my B-Day. My husband is so wonderful! :lovestruc

But Sephora actually gives guys the choice between the Fresh Sugar Lip Duo or a guy gift, (I think it was a men's facial wash or something.) I didn't really pay attention because I know my husband was picking the Fresh Lip Duo! :lmao:

Is anyone else's husband a V.I.B?

I want to try it, but I enjoy changing my nail polish much too frequently. I do know one person that tried it and hated the results. I think the kit she purchased was from Ulta. She wasn't sure if it was the polish, dryer, or user error, but said she was leaving it to the professionals from now on, lol.

I regularly purchase these minis. I find it to be a good way to stretch the nail polish budget. I have 27 of them. I have not come close using half a bottle and that is with 4+ uses. If I had to guess, I would think you could probably get 15-20 uses or more per mini.

FYI, regular OPI makes a set of minis with each collection and a few "special" sets, some exclusive to places like Ulta, every year.

I read about this on a budget tip board last year and am signing my dh up, although he refuses to use anything from Sephora, including the Jack Black lip balms and samples I got him, lol.

My DH has his own :goodvibes He has the manly grey full size, and I have the yellow Mia. He LOVES it and uses it every day!

I bounce between Clinique's Acne Solutions Cleanser and Neutrogena's Redness/Acne Gel Cleanser (the green one). DH uses Clinique's Mild Liquid Soap. He uses the Normal Brush Head... and I am in love with the Deep Pore Brush Head.

Enjoy!! :wizard:

luv... any recommendations for a men's acne face wash?

Also, does anyone ave a Sephora or Ulta discount code? I am trying to get the Mia2, but just can't swing it without some type of % off.

I wouldn't hesitate to use the Acne face wash from Clinique (it's in a blue bottle, lol) or the Neutrogena ones. I prefer the redness/acne from Neutrogena because it does take calm down the redness in the acne, or the redness from drying it out. I think you would find that a good cleanser with the Clarisonic can give realllly good results in a small amount of time.

I once in a while get codes for Ulta--I don't think I have one right now... but I put myself on a "no buy" until we're back from our trip next week so I haven't looked. I work at Dillard's and we do lots of promos from extra brush heads, to free cleanser, to gift cards.... just depends on the weekend and the event. Feel free to PM me if you want me to watch for a good deal!

FWIW... I get to play with the Mia, Mia2, Regular Clarisonic, Clarisonic Plus, and the Opal every day at work. I have the Mia (Deep Pore Brush), DH has the Regular Clarisonic (Normal Brush). I think the Mia does the job well. The Mia 2 with the extra speed seems more of a gimmick to me. I find the Mia does a great job on it's 1 speed. When I've used the ones with other speeds, I have to take off the Deep Pore Brush and go down to a Sensitive--it was too rough. But--as I know--everyone's face is different and you have to see what works for you!! Hope this helps!

Mia 2 Skin Care Cleansing System does not qualify for coupon discounts according to Ulta's website. :sad1: I just tried to add coupon offer (20% off) with this product....

Thanks for letting me know. These mini nail polish sets sound like a great deal! I'll have to pick up a set. :thumbsup2

ok, i bought the mia... used it twice and WOW! you guys were right, i really didnt think i would see a difference that fast, all dry skin is gone, and blackheads from chin have flattened out already. I wasnt so sure, but I am really impressed. I had a sephora gift card, so i picked it up there. Also got the purity cleaner by philosophy for 100 points to try out. thanks for the tip!

Funny you all should mention signing up your dh for a sephora account. For some reason yesterday I was thinking the same thing. I might as well. It was actually kind of funny when a Sephora opened near us I made him go and wait in line with me to be one of the first 100 who got a gift card. cards ranged from 10.00 to 150 and there were only 100 cards! He was going for coffee and I begged him to wait. There were quite a few people in line so I was kind of depressed (he HAD to stop for coffee). Anyway when the sephora girl was handing out the cards I got one I was number 98 and then she was going to pass my husband and I said , "he wants one too" reluctantly she gave him a number and when we got in I got 10 and HE got 50 which he promptly gave to me. I might add the line behind us was probably 200 strong. He kept saying , "those women are going to kill me". I said, " give me your card before they do!"

LOL

Well?

What do the new Clarisonic users, think?

I'll check back, when *I* am back....from Disney. :snooty: :cool1:

I've done the Shellac/Gelish nails on myself several times, though I'm definitely not an expert. I bought the lamp and the foundation, top coats, and a few colors from Amazon.
I notice that it does chip sooner when I do my own manicure, than when I go to the salon, however it lasts longer than regular polish and it also let's my nails grow longer because the slight thickness prevents them from breaking.
What questions did you have?

Enjoy your trip to Florida...I'm thinking about taking a quick weekend getaway just for some sun and warm temps. :cool2:

HOw long does it take? How much approx does the initial set up cost? What do you need? Does it wreck your nails? I already have peeling nails. I usually polish on Sunday night and then touch up for the next five days. It looks find but I just wish that I only had to do it once a week and let it go.

TIA
