The Magician on Crescent Lake. A sister TR 4/28-5/4/24, New TR link 9/22**

never knew this. Most of the animals are separated by sex, like the gorillas or are only one sex. All of the ostriches are female, according to the CM, for example.
That was a new fact for me as well! I am always amazed how well the CMs know all the animals!
I never knew about this game! It sounds like fun. :)
This was the first time I saw this at YC or any resort really, so maybe a new game they added!
What a great tour. I have never done any of the tours at Disney. I guess another thing I need to add to my Disney bucket list. It's a good thing I have lots of experience being broke. :rotfl2:
If you read my response above to @pkondz you will see the tours I have done. All of them amazing! This one is still my all time favorite one. I highly recommend!

I've only ridden Remy a few times but I don't remember any smells.
It really was a great addition to the attraction. I knew I had never smelled this before. I’m excited to see if it is still present in September
Your Savannah tour sounds like something DH would like. He's really into experiences now. Maybe I can get him to give it a try when the weather is cooler.
It is wonderful, very chill and such a good time. You two should definitely add it to your list of new things! You will love it!
JP enjoyed finding Chip and Dale when we stayed at Wilderness Lodge in December. I think all the resorts have a character to find now.
We saw Max many times and finally got his picture the last evening

May the 4th Be With You!

It was our last day. I woke up with a scratchy sore throat ugh 😩. I didn’t feel too bad just the irritation of the sore throat. I will just say this cold was a creeper! I didn’t really feel sick until a day later. :sad2:

Our plan was to try a walk up brunch at The Summer House in DS.

We didn’t rush this morning and got everything packed up and checked our room several times before bringing our luggage to Bell Services.

Once said luggage was put away for later, we went to catch the bus to Disney Springs.

There was only a few people waiting at the bus station since RD at all the parks was several hours ago.

The DS bus arrived and off we went.

We did some window shopping as we walked to the restaurant. We saw many people dressed up for Star Wars Day even at DS. I noticed the two Star Wars shops were very busy. :darth::chewy:

I went up to the hostess stand to see if we could do a walk up and it was no problem. We were quoted a 20 minute wait.
IMG_2024-08-02-193437.jpg
We literally walked about 50 feet away and I got the table ready text! The restaurant has several different dining areas. We were seated in the front patio section. It was fine but hot 🥵. There was a ceiling fan above us but at times it did feel a little stuffy.

During the brunch hours, you can only order off a limited brunch menu. I went with an egg, sausage, avocado and cheese burrito with a small fresh salad and this delicious avocado dip on the side. The burrito was fine, it had more egg than anything else. Sorry for the picture not showing the inside of my burrito! 🌯
IMG_2024-08-02-193246.jpg
D&H both got a salad, very similar to a Cobb Salad. The salads were delicious and both of them loved it 😊
IMG_2024-08-02-193337.jpg
We each had a light Rose wine spritzer for our drinks and plenty of water.

It was a nice meal and I am excited to go back for dinner in September.

We were all pretty tired and feeling the heat today.

Our plan was to spend a little bit of time in Epcot after brunch.

I got a couple cookies for the flight. The salted chocolate chip and the fudge bomb. Yummy 😋

We took a Lyft for $14.60 to Epcot.

Our first stop was SE, one last ride on a favorite attraction.

We walked along and I got a picture of The Wish F&G display before heading into JoW. I really wanted D&H to see the Journey of Water.
IMG_2024-08-02-193508.jpg
It was somewhat crowded but not too bad. We took our time and walked slowly through the exhibit. Trying a few of the features.
IMG_2024-08-02-193545.jpg
It is such a beautiful place and the small sprays of water felt wonderful today with the heat.

IMG_2024-08-02-193830.jpg
We admired the beautiful TeFiti before heading out.
IMG_2024-08-02-193727.jpg
I wanted to get my favorite drink before leaving. The Violet Lemonade. It is only featured at F&G.

We all got one and headed to the IG and took the boat one last time to the YC. The magician was not on board this time boo 😒 we missed his trickster ways!

We lounged at the YC in the beautiful air conditioned lobby. We rested a little before getting our luggage and calling a Lyft to the airport. I ordered a XL Lyft for all our luggage. The ride total was $48.10.

We did curbside check in and headed to security. We all have TSA precheck. The wait was minimal even though the lines looked crazy! The TSA workers in Orlando are like a militia! They are yelling orders all the time and never smile!

We made it through without being strip searched 🤣I feel like I am going to prison in the Orlando airport!

We had our last ride on the fake o rail, bought a few snacks and drinks for the flight. We waited in a little less crowded area in the International Terminal until our boarding group was called.

We didn’t splurge on comfort plus and we had twin babies behind us and one of the littles was really good and the other one cried almost the whole trip on and off.

The splurge on comfort + would have been worth it!

I wore a mask to protect others since I knew I was sick 🤧 and tried to sleep on and off.

Our flight was on time and H’s husband picked us up around 9pm. D&I stayed overnight and departed early the next morning to Duluth.

Just like that our trip was over.

We had a wonderful trip! Beautiful weather, good food, great park time, and a great resort (once we moved to YC).

D, H, & I, Thank you so much for reading along and commenting on the trip! :goodvibes

My next trip is in 34 days! I love the new count down on the MDE. It is really colorful and shows your resort with a count down banner! :thumbsup2:cheer2:

I will stop back here to update on my Fastpass for Cash pre trip bookings. I get to do this 7 days before our trip.

It is Orlando Magical Dining when we are there and I think we will try one of the restaurants participating in this promotion. It is a prix fixe meal for $40 a person at some of the signature restaurants. Kait loves Italian food so I think we will do II Mulino at the Swan resort.

Thanks again Everyone and I hope you all are enjoying your summer! :beach:

It really is. I think it is my favorite tour I have done..I think this would be my ranking
1. Savor
2. Marceline to Magic
3. Future World Epcot tour was fantastic, no longer offered
4. DestiNations in WS (not sure if this is still available either)
5. Keys to the Kingdom
6. Up close with Rhinos
7. Caring for Giants
The two Epcot ones would be really interesting.
Once upon a time, there was even a WS segway tour. I sure would've liked to have gone on that one.
And... I was just chatting about Keys to the Kingdom... and... you know what? I don't want to do it. I don't want to see behind the magic on that one. It really is a Main St. USA, thankyouverymuch.
Little surprised Rhino is so low. I would think it would be pretty cool to actually say you touched a rhino. :)
No you are correct, I think you have to be 16 or 18 to do this tour.
That would explain it.
You speak the truth sir! I even have dessert for breakfast on vacation!
How to say you're a Disney veteran without saying your a Disney veteran. ;)

It was our last day. I woke up with a scratchy sore throat ugh 😩.
:(
Sorry to hear that.
We saw many people dressed up for Star Wars Day even at DS. I noticed the two Star Wars shops were very busy. :darth::chewy:
That sounds like fun. :)

A cookie bar???
It almost looks like the cook stubbed out his cigarette in your burrito.
That salad looks amazing!
The salted chocolate chip and the fudge bomb. Yummy 😋
Not a fan of salted sweets, but... fudge bomb??? :hyper:
Our first stop was SE, one last ride on a favorite attraction.
But won't be long before you're on it again. :)

I've heard good things about this area.
I wanted to get my favorite drink before leaving. The Violet Lemonade. It is only featured at F&G.

The TSA workers in Orlando are like a militia! They are yelling orders all the time and never smile!
I'm sure they're pretty overwhelmed. Such a crazy amount of tourists!
We made it through without being strip searched 🤣I feel like I am going to prison in the Orlando airport!
:lmao:
We didn’t splurge on comfort plus and we had twin babies behind us and one of the littles was really good and the other one cried almost the whole trip on and off.
Part of travelling unfortunately. I always have my noise cancelling headset. It's for movies, but does help for other noise as well.
Just like that our trip was over.
Boo!

I wore a mask to protect others since I knew I was sick 🤧 and tried to sleep on and off.
I'm sure that everyone around you appreciated the mask. At least you didn't feel sick until the last day. :)

My sister liked the Summerhouse. Maybe we will try it during our December trip.

I enjoyed your sister's trip report. Our "sisters plus one husband" trip is three weeks away. We have been having a lot of fun with them. It is nice for adult siblings to have fun together again. :)

I enjoyed following along on your sisters trip! My sister and I are planning a Disney trip in 2025. Sister trips are the best! Can't wait to start planning for it. It might be fun to do one of the tours. Years ago my DH and I did the Wedway tour in Epcot. It was great - wish it was still offered. Thanks for sharing your trip!

We literally walked about 50 feet away and I got the table ready text!

This is great.

he restaurant has several different dining areas. We were seated in the front patio section. It was fine but hot 🥵. There was a ceiling fan above us but at times it did feel a little stuffy.

This is not so great. AC is a must.

It was a nice meal and I am excited to go back for dinner in September.

I want to try this too. Danielle has been a couple of times and really loved it.

It was somewhat crowded but not too bad. We took our time and walked slowly through the exhibit. Trying a few of the features.

Journey of Water is so pretty.

I wanted to get my favorite drink before leaving. The Violet Lemonade. It is only featured at F&G.

I've had this and it was really good.

We made it through without being strip searched 🤣I feel like I am going to prison in the Orlando airport!

The Orlando Airport is on another level, so much busier than the NO airport.

We had a wonderful trip! Beautiful weather, good food, great park time, and a great resort (once we moved to YC).

This is always good to read.

D, H, & I, Thank you so much for reading along and commenting on the trip! :goodvibes

I loved Up close with a rhino but I also loved all the other tours, lol 😂 I think the Rhinos was probably tied with several others!
A cookie bar???
Yes! It is a really cool display of the cookies and you can get your cookies without waiting an hour!
It almost looks like the cook stubbed out his cigarette in your burrito.
Haha 🤣 now that you say that, it does! That would be awful 😢
That salad looks amazing!
The salads were a definite winner
Not a fan of salted sweets, but... fudge bomb???
I would say the salted chocolate chip has been my favorite there. The fudge bomb and the sugar cookie are really good too
But won't be long before you're on it again.
I know my trip is coming up soon!
Part of travelling unfortunately. I always have my noise cancelling headset. It's for movies, but does help for other noise as well.
The noise cancellation headphones are the best!
Never heard of this. Sounds interesting. Looking forward to hearing all about it.
It is a really nice way to try some signature restaurants with a lower price. We ate At Jaleo during this promotion and we only paid $35.00 a person for a wonderful meal!

I'm sure that everyone around you appreciated the mask. At least you didn't feel sick until the last day.
The cold was a real creeper! It kept a coming each day with different symptoms ugh 😣
My sister liked the Summerhouse. Maybe we will try it during our December trip.
We are going in September in the evening! Andi really wanted to try it!
I enjoyed your sister's trip report. Our "sisters plus one husband" trip is three weeks away. We have been having a lot of fun with them. It is nice for adult siblings to have fun together again.
Thank you! We had such a great time together and I am so glad we did the trip!

:thanks: I am glad you enjoyed following along. How exciting to have a trip with your sister coming up! I am excited for our Disney Cruise in 2025. I think we will spend at least a day or two at Disney before the cruise. I really loved all the tours it is hard to rank them. The wedway tour would be really fun!

I'm so sorry you came back home with a bug. It's good that it wasn't too bad while you were there.
I’m glad it was at the very end of the trip. Didn’t want it at all! Ugh 😣
This is not so great. AC is a must.
Yeah, the front porch area is lacking the AC, which is always needed in Florida
I want to try this too. Danielle has been a couple of times and really loved it.
I’m excited to try Summer House for dinner! I have to remember to get the Rose 🌹 wine they are known for.
Journey of Water is so pretty.
I love it, day and night experiences.
I've had this and it was really good.
I love the violet lemonade

The Orlando Airport is on another level, so much busier than the NO airport.
It really is, it reminds me of a military base until you pass security 😂
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for joining in and commenting
This is so close. Can't wait to read how the new Multi-Pass works for you.
I’m getting excited for the trip. I have heard some mixed comments about the whole process, ugh 😩 I will see how it works and report back!
It's sad to end the trip report - but it always helps to have the next trip to look forward to. Can't wait to hear about it!
I’m excited to have another trip coming up very soon! Thank you for joining in!

I love the shirt and it has so many cool Mickey and Minnie’s on it. It is long sleeves and I will take it on my December trip for sure.
Love this one! I wonder if there will be any left in August?
Otherwise this is such a wonderful tour and each time it is a little different depending on the guides and the animals.

we finished off the tour. We got a bamboo coaster that has Savor the Savannah on it. I have three now. I had made a FP for NRJ in Pandora. We headed there next and had a nice peaceful ride and then we, of course
Sounds absolutely wonderful! It’s such a great tour.

A wonderful and delicious tour called Savor the Savannah!

It was time to head out to AK for a favorite tour of mine.

I have been on this tour three times now. Once with Andi, once with D and now with both D&H. This is an amazing tour and I highly recommend it!

We took a Lyft to AK around 2:45 for $15.20 with the tip.

There is a tour check in kiosk close to the Safari ride.
View attachment 880243
I checked us in and we got our name tags. One of the entertainers in Africa stopped to say Hello 👋 I took his picture with his permission of course.
View attachment 880244
Our tour guide was Dominick. He was very nice and informative. Our tour was all adults and I believe there was 10 of us. You start out at the beginning of the Safari ride in our own truck. You sit in the back of a truck. It was very hot out this afternoon. You travel along the Savannah except we veer off and go down a few areas the regular ride vehicles are not allowed to go.

We did stop and talk to one of the Safari CMs. He answered questions and told us all about the giraffes and zebras. Currently two giraffes are pregnant. Apparently there is a new stud out on the Savannah 😅
View attachment 880239
We also learned the lions do not breed at Disney and the female lions are spayed, because if you neuter the males, they lose their manes. I thought that was interesting. They are less manly and are not allowed to be part of the pride.🦁

It was time to head up to the Boma for our food and drinks.

This is such a relaxing time and we meet another CM at the Boma. She explains the food choices and the drinks.
View attachment 880245
The food was delicious. My favorite was the tandoori shrimp, bread, and the curry chicken salad. We each tried a sampling of the drinks. I had the African wine. H and D had an African beer.
View attachment 880242
The desserts were delicious and very rich. My favorite is the s’mores in a tin!
View attachment 880246
A giraffe came up close to the Boma to check out what we were doing. This was really cool.
View attachment 880241
Still no femal elephants out on the Savannah today, boo 😒 I didn’t get to see the baby elephant.

Otherwise this is such a wonderful tour and each time it is a little different depending on the guides and the animals.

we finished off the tour. We got a bamboo coaster that has Savor the Savannah on it. I have three now. I had made a FP for NRJ in Pandora. We headed there next and had a nice peaceful ride and then we, of course, had a little spin on Dinosaur 🦖

We did not get our picture this time. It was a great ride and AK was not really busy this evening. I did make a FP for it but I think the SB wait was around 15 minutes.

I’m really happy my sisters loved this ride. I guess it is because we are related! :lmao:

We got a few pictures by the Tree of Life before heading out.

We took the bus back to the YC and chilled for the evening.

We did the find Max game at the YC. It said when you find Max the photo prop take a picture and bring it to the front desk and you get a button.
View attachment 880247
It was a cute game and we had seen Max a few times in the lobby and decided to find him tonight and get our buttons. It is the little things, right!

We had a few beers and snacks on our balcony.

Before the night ended, we took another walk on the Boardwalk and got Mickey bars for our second dessert!

Another wonderful day in the books. It was getting hotter each day and tomorrow ends up being the hottest day of the trip.

Stay tuned for our last day. We spend time in DS and Epcot before heading to the airport!

It also is May the 4th be with you Day!

That tour sounds so lovely and add me to the folks that had no idea as to why they don`t neuter lions!!!

Boma food looks amazing, it always looks so lovely.

I love the picture of the three of you in front of the tree, you all look so happy in all your pictures though.

Aww, sorry you got a bug, nothing worse when you are on a trip, but yes, glad it was the last day and you didn`t lose any vacation time.

I`ve never heard of The Summer House, it looks so lovely.

We noticed our last few trips when we had later evening flights and it was much quieter, the TSA officers actually chatted as we went through and it was so nice.

Thank you again Caroline for such a lovely trip report, I always enjoy reading of all your time there and seeing things we`ll never see too.

And not long till your next trip, look forward to reading it too :wave2:

Love this one! I wonder if there will be any left in August?
You never know, I love the print on it. My one coworker said she was mesmerized by it, lol 😂
Sounds absolutely wonderful! It’s such a great tour.
It really is. One I do not mind paying for or doing several times! ❤️
Ooh, everything looks great! Maybe I will try it for dinner one night!
I think you would like it at Summer House!
Perfect end to your trip!
Thank you, it was really a fun trip!
Enjoy your upcoming trip and yay to an extra night!

I’m so glad you followed along and I’m excited for my trip coming up. Sounds like we will just miss each other! We leave 9/14 in the late afternoon! I will be excited to read all about your trip!

It really was a great addition to the attraction. I knew I had never smelled this before. I’m excited to see if it is still present in September

It is wonderful, very chill and such a good time. You two should definitely add it to your list of new things! You will love it!

We saw Max many times and finally got his picture the last evening
we were looking at the savannah tour- can you tell me about the times offered- is there a better time to go?

The tour is daily I believe at either 3:15 or 4:30. Those are the only times I have seen for booking it. I have done both times and really loved both. The earlier one allows you time in the parks for a few more hours. The tour is two hours long. I really recommend this tour. I think you will love it!
