The Magician on Crescent Lake. A sister TR 4/28-5/4/24, New TR link 9/22**

I’m excited to see the newly rethemed Splash.
I'd like to see it too. Hopefully some day.
I think the Country Bears will be open we are there. It will be fun to see the difference between the old and new.
I'm betting, no more "blood on the saddle"...
I need to request the front next time!
::yes::
Yes we will definitely take advantage of the boat 🚤 and maybe the Magician will be on board :rotfl:

I'd like to see it too. Hopefully some day.
You are due for a trip! I have avoided watching any ride videos of the new Splash so I can be surprised 😲
I'm betting, no more "blood on the saddle"...
Hahaha 😆 When Andi first heard all the songs she just kept looking at me and saying what is this :confused3 :rotfl: It did grow on her and she always wanted to check it out at least every couple trips!

I missed you had another TR going!!!

Just finished reading through, all caught up and as always lovely to read along with you, your pictures are wonderful, love the sisters trip and did laugh at your sisters hair blowing around!!

Shame about your room too, never good when that happens, but they made it right thankfully! Those rooms are beautiful.

Food as always looks amazing, I particularly loved the cocktails and that Prime Rib.....🥰 it looked incredible.

And good news on your cruise being booked, they always look amazing. And you have your September trip coming up soon too, always exciting to read about your Universal time!!

Forgot to say, lovely family pictures and boy do your two children look alike!!! I thought they might have been twins in that one, and yes, they are kids to be proud of for sure :wave2:

Yay :cheer2:Very nice to hear from you!

My sister Helen keeps talking about the trip and how much fun we had!
Shame about your room too, never good when that happens, but they made it right thankfully! Those rooms are beautiful.
Ugh 😩 It was probably the worst room at a beautiful resort. Just my luck, 😝
Food as always looks amazing, I particularly loved the cocktails and that Prime Rib.....🥰 it looked incredible.
We really enjoyed our lounges and restaurants. I always try to have the phone eat first, haha 😆
And good news on your cruise being booked, they always look amazing. And you have your September trip coming up soon too, always exciting to read about your Universal time!!
We are so excited for the cruise. It is 1.5 years away but as we all know time flies! I just bought our HHN tickets for the 2 nights we will attend. I am going to get EP but wow it is like $20 more a ticket this year! Worth it for us!
I see you started a new TR, I have to go and read! We will be there on Friday the 13th when you arrive. We leave on the 14th. I like your title fly on the 13th lol 😂 I told Andi I was glad we weren’t doing HHN on Friday the 13th, it will be crazy I bet!
Forgot to say, lovely family pictures and boy do your two children look alike!!! I thought they might have been twins in that one, and yes, they are kids to be proud of for sure :wave2:
:thanks: As you know, our kids are the best! Very proud of them!

This smells amazing!

Today is our last full day. I was up before 7am to get Genie+ H really loved Remy and really wanted to ride again. I was able to get a FP for around 1100am. The cost today for Genie+ $86.28. We didn’t purchase any Fancy rides today.

We spent time on our balcony with our coffee and a few breakfast snacks. We also went to the pool area to look around and get a few pictures.
IMG_2024-07-20-065728.jpg
It really looks inviting, to bad we didn’t take a dip. Like I said, it is too much work! Hahaha 😝
IMG_2024-07-20-065827.jpg
It was time to walk over to Epcot and use our FP for Remy. :thumbsup2

We got a few pictures in front of the attraction before going in.

IMG_2024-07-20-063820.jpg
Our wait was around 10 minutes max and the SB line was at 60 minutes. H was singing my praises again, she was very impressed how we were able to ride all the top attractions with such a short wait! Wait until she gets the bill at the end of the trip! 🤣

Today on the ride was the first time I got a smell of all the aromas on the ride. I have never, in all the times, noticed anything except a faint smell of the champagne when the cork pops. 🍾

Well, this time in the kitchen scene, where Remy is cooking, it smelled absolutely wonderful. It smelled like a kitchen would with food cooking on the stove. I was surprised 😮 I had never experienced this before. I wonder if it only works some of the time? How many of you have had this experience? Let me know! It really added to the attraction!

D&H didn’t think they had smelled anything the last few rides so I don’t think I imagined it!

It is the little things like this that set Dsney apart from so many other places! ::yes::

Now if they could just keep everything running smoothly, it would be priceless!

We headed towards Morocco to see if the AP lounge was open yet. It was not and there was already a pretty decent line of people waiting so we passed on it. I never did get a chance to check out. I heard really mixed reviews so I don’t think I missed anything there.

We took the boat over to World Entry area and headed to The Land. I had got us a Soarin FP. We had a short wait and we were flying over the world. I made a LwtL FP next and we walked right on.

IMG_2024-07-20-064055.jpg
The attraction had some new displays for F&G. It is always a fun experience!

We did a little shopping on our way towards Canada and I found a Lily Pulitzer shirt which was 60% off with my AP discount added to the 40% off price.
IMG_2024-07-20-092601.jpg
I love the shirt and it has so many cool Mickey and Minnie’s on it. It is long sleeves and I will take it on my December trip for sure.

I know we filled up the popcorn bucket with the Maple flavor popcorn in Canada 🍁 but I don’t think we got anything else. :confused3

So much for sampling all the booths at F&G. :rotfl:

We headed back to the resort to rest up a little before our Savor the Savannah tour.

Stay tuned for a tour where I learned more new things even though it was my 3rd time on this tour! It was amazing! :woohoo:

I've only ridden Remy a few times in DLP so I can't speak for the smell aspect of the attraction. Maybe it's like you said, they don't have it turned on all the time. :confused3 Glad you were able to experience it, though!

60% off a Disney item is a great deal! Awesome find.

Looking forward to hearing about your Savor the Savannah tour.

I was up before 7am to get Genie+
I'm not sorry to see that silliness gone.
The cost today for Genie+ $86.28.
:sad2:
We also went to the pool area to look around and get a few pictures.
I'd love to stay there some day. That pool looks so inviting.
It really looks inviting, to bad we didn’t take a dip. Like I said, it is too much work! Hahaha 😝

This is such a great shot of the three of you. :goodvibes
<sigh> Every time I see this magic shot, no one is ever pointing at the right spot. I mean... how hard is it for the photographer to say "Point a little to the left. Little more... perfect. <click>" :sad2:

:lmao:
"It was so great! We never waited! You're a miracle worker!"
"Here's your bill for the miracles... $584."
Today on the ride was the first time I got a smell of all the aromas on the ride. I have never, in all the times, noticed anything except a faint smell of the champagne when the cork pops. 🍾
Huh. I've never smelled anything.
But I've only been on it... twice?
Well, this time in the kitchen scene, where Remy is cooking, it smelled absolutely wonderful. It smelled like a kitchen would with food cooking on the stove. I was surprised 😮
Really! Huh!
It is the little things like this that set Dsney apart from so many other places! ::yes::

I've heard of it, but not having an AP, it's a moot point for me.
At first I was confused about the cards. I assumed the bushes were red rose bushes.
The next picture confirmed it, with the tea party.
I actually kinda like the face on the right side of the photo. You can tell they're agog. :)
I found a Lily Pulitzer shirt which was 60% off with my AP discount added to the 40% off price.

So colourful!
I love the shirt and it has so many cool Mickey and Minnie’s on it.
I didn't even see the M&Ms on it!

It was definitely new to me and I have been on the ride many times! It was like being in a French Bistro. It really added to the experience.
It really was a good deal because the Lily P items are a price I would never pay unless a deep discount.
The tour is coming up soon!

I'm not sorry to see that silliness gone.
Today starts the new FP for cash system! I wonder how it will go and what the cost will be to start with.
I'd love to stay there some day. That pool looks so inviting.
I really love the Epcot resorts! I will see how I like BWI in September. We stayed here once in 2016 in a DVC studio
This is such a great shot of the three of you.
Thank you 😊
Every time I see this magic shot, no one is ever pointing at the right spot. I mean... how hard is it for the photographer to say "Point a little to the left. Little more... perfect.
Hahaha 😂 We have so many pictures of this shot and yes it never really lines up! I love seeing Remy but it really should be Emile he is the one always stealing food!
It was so great! We never waited! You're a miracle worker!"
"Here's your bill for the miracles... $584."
Yes, that is exactly what I said to her! :rotfl:
Huh. I've never smelled anything.
But I've only been on it... twice?
It really added to the ride and I hope it is there on my next ride!
I've heard of it, but not having an AP, it's a moot point for me.
I guess the lounge is already closed. It is weird because it is an empty space so why not keep it open until they do something more permanent with the area. :confused3
At first I was confused about the cards. I assumed the bushes were red rose bushes.
The next picture confirmed it, with the tea party.
Yes, I loved the different Disney theme for each garden party. I believe there was Little Mermaid, Snow White, Alice, and Pooh Bear!
didn't even see the M&Ms on it!
I wore it to work and staff and patients loved it. It was a find Hidden Mickey and Minnie activity for everyone! :lmao:
You're really spoiling them!
It worked because they definitely want to do another Disney trip with me! Disney for adults is truly wonderful as you know, and now they are totally on board!

Today starts the new FP for cash system! I wonder how it will go and what the cost will be to start with.
Oh, I can answer that.
Not well and exorbitant.
I love seeing Remy but it really should be Emile he is the one always stealing food!
Good point.
Yes, that is exactly what I said to her! :rotfl:
 And what was her reaction? This?
Yes, I loved the different Disney theme for each garden party. I believe there was Little Mermaid, Snow White, Alice, and Pooh Bear!
Nice. :)

A wonderful and delicious tour called Savor the Savannah!

It was time to head out to AK for a favorite tour of mine.

I have been on this tour three times now. Once with Andi, once with D and now with both D&H. This is an amazing tour and I highly recommend it!

We took a Lyft to AK around 2:45 for $15.20 with the tip.

There is a tour check in kiosk close to the Safari ride.
IMG_2024-07-25-194531.jpg
I checked us in and we got our name tags. One of the entertainers in Africa stopped to say Hello 👋 I took his picture with his permission of course.
IMG_2024-07-25-194739.jpg
Our tour guide was Dominick. He was very nice and informative. Our tour was all adults and I believe there was 10 of us. You start out at the beginning of the Safari ride in our own truck. You sit in the back of a truck. It was very hot out this afternoon. You travel along the Savannah except we veer off and go down a few areas the regular ride vehicles are not allowed to go.

We did stop and talk to one of the Safari CMs. He answered questions and told us all about the giraffes and zebras. Currently two giraffes are pregnant. Apparently there is a new stud out on the Savannah 😅
IMG_2024-07-25-194653.jpg
We also learned the lions do not breed at Disney and the female lions are spayed, because if you neuter the males, they lose their manes. I thought that was interesting. They are less manly and are not allowed to be part of the pride.🦁

It was time to head up to the Boma for our food and drinks.

This is such a relaxing time and we meet another CM at the Boma. She explains the food choices and the drinks.
IMG_2024-07-25-194357.jpg
The food was delicious. My favorite was the tandoori shrimp, bread, and the curry chicken salad. We each tried a sampling of the drinks. I had the African wine. H and D had an African beer.
IMG_2024-07-25-194438.jpg
The desserts were delicious and very rich. My favorite is the s’mores in a tin!
IMG_2024-07-25-194607.jpg
A giraffe came up close to the Boma to check out what we were doing. This was really cool.
IMG_2024-07-25-194222.jpg
Still no femal elephants out on the Savannah today, boo 😒 I didn’t get to see the baby elephant.

Otherwise this is such a wonderful tour and each time it is a little different depending on the guides and the animals.

we finished off the tour. We got a bamboo coaster that has Savor the Savannah on it. I have three now. I had made a FP for NRJ in Pandora. We headed there next and had a nice peaceful ride and then we, of course, had a little spin on Dinosaur 🦖

We did not get our picture this time. It was a great ride and AK was not really busy this evening. I did make a FP for it but I think the SB wait was around 15 minutes.

I’m really happy my sisters loved this ride. I guess it is because we are related! :lmao:

We got a few pictures by the Tree of Life before heading out.

IMG_2024-07-25-193621.jpg
We took the bus back to the YC and chilled for the evening.

We did the find Max game at the YC. It said when you find Max the photo prop take a picture and bring it to the front desk and you get a button.
IMG_2024-07-25-194853.jpg
It was a cute game and we had seen Max a few times in the lobby and decided to find him tonight and get our buttons. It is the little things, right!

We had a few beers and snacks on our balcony.

Before the night ended, we took another walk on the Boardwalk and got Mickey bars for our second dessert!

Another wonderful day in the books. It was getting hotter each day and tomorrow ends up being the hottest day of the trip.

Stay tuned for our last day. We spend time in DS and Epcot before heading to the airport!

It also is May the 4th be with you Day!

Yusss...

Such a great tour. :)

Huh! That's really interesting. Did not know that.
Nice spread!
mmm.... yum.

Really! That is cool. :)

Of course. ;)

Huh. Nice little fun thing to do. :)

 Only in Disney is it not only perfectly acceptable, but encouraged to have second dessert!
We spend time in DS and Epcot before heading to the airport!

You spent May the 4th in DS and Epcot... you were very afraid of DHS, weren't you? ;)

Savour the Savannah sounds brilliant. The food looks delicious. I didn’t know that lions would lose their manes and be kicked out of the pride if they were neutered. Learn something new everyday!
It’s good the tour is slightly different each time so you can continue to enjoy it in the future. Disney is smart 😂
Your evening sounds pretty perfect- nothing quite like a stroll round the boardwalk for second dessert to finish the day :goodvibes

I never knew this. Most of the animals are separated by sex, like the gorillas or are only one sex. All of the ostriches are female, according to the CM, for example.
We did the find Max game at the YC. It said when you find Max the photo prop take a picture and bring it to the front desk and you get a button.
I never knew about this game! It sounds like fun. :)

What a great tour. I have never done any of the tours at Disney. I guess another thing I need to add to my Disney bucket list. It's a good thing I have lots of experience being broke. :rotfl2:

I've only ridden Remy a few times but I don't remember any smells.

Your Savannah tour sounds like something DH would like. He's really into experiences now. Maybe I can get him to give it a try when the weather is cooler.

JP enjoyed finding Chip and Dale when we stayed at Wilderness Lodge in December. I think all the resorts have a character to find now.

Such a great tour.
It really is. I think it is my favorite tour I have done..I think this would be my ranking
1. Savor
2. Marceline to Magic
3. Future World Epcot tour was fantastic, no longer offered
4. DestiNations in WS (not sure if this is still available either)
5. Keys to the Kingdom
6. Up close with Rhinos
7. Caring for Giants

Have there ever been children when you've done this tour? I know there weren't any when I did it.
No you are correct, I think you have to be 16 or 18 to do this tour.
Huh! That's really interesting. Did not know that.
Same! Disney sure knows all about the animals at AK, amazing how professional and knowledgeable they are
Huh. Nice little fun thing to do. :)
We saw Max so many times and finally this evening it took us awhile to find him to snap his picture! It was a cute little activity!
Only in Disney is it not only perfectly acceptable, but encouraged to have second dessert!
You speak the truth sir! I even have dessert for breakfast on vacation!
You spent May the 4th in DS and Epcot... you were very afraid of DHS, weren't you? ;)
I really was, haha 😆, my sisters are not big SW fans and I have been in DHS on May 4th in the past and it is crowded!

It is such a wonderful tour. I really like the relaxing vibe of the tour especially since we walk so much at Disney and on this tour you chill and drink haha 😆
I honestly would do this tour at least once a year it is so amazing!
It was nice to have a walk around the Boardwalk again on our last night!
