I never pack until the night before...that way I don't keep thinking of extra things to bring! Our family has a motto: if it doesn't fit in a standard 22" carry on -- then we don't need it! I've just had so many suitcases lost or damaged that I don't feel comfortable checking luggage anymore. So, that's a definite plus about traveling to WDW during the summer...shorts take up a lot less room than pants, and no need for a bunch of warm clothes.

Hello everyone! I just found this thread and would love to get in on some meets. It will just be DD12/13 (she is having a birthday) and I. We are staying at SSR and am looking forward to trying the dining plan for the first time. We are arriving on the Aug 29th Late and leaving on Sept 3 as late as possible. Here are our plans and we are definitely going to try to make the 2 meets at MK.

8/30 EE MK 8:00 ADR CP 10:05 then over to MGM later in the day 6:50 Mama Melrose
8/31 AK in the am, EPCOT later 7:00 San Angel Inn
9/1 Enjoy our resort/ SSR participate in some of the activities possibly a trip to DTD and Mini golf at Winter/Summerland 7:40 Turf Club
9/2 AK in the am, off to MK in the afternoon 7:00 Tony's Town Square
9/3 MK in the am 8:40 Kona Breakfast, then to EPCOT for good bye lunch at 12:30 Lecellier


Anyone up for a Mini golf game on 9/1!

What a great way to spend a birthday! (I am too, with my mom) Make sure she gets a birthday pin at guest relations to wear... I hear you can expect good things when you wear one.....Look forward to seeing you on the 30th at MK!

Pam- I love to pack for Disney also!! I am trying not to pack so far in advance this year however. I usually have one bag packed 2 months out. This year I have nothing packed so far.

With so much summer clothes in clearance this is the perfect time to do a test pack...SO I am going to do that tomorrow. I just got DH a new bathing suit and some tops/shorts. I am hitting Macys this week to look for the kids too.

My kids bring a backpack with them in addition to the 22" -- any souvenirs they buy will usually fit in that. They are a little bit older so they really aren't into that many things...mainly pins or a hat/t-shirt. We are fortunate that we've been able to travel to WDW and DL many times and they really go for the rides more than the shops (of course with DD entering high school, that might change real soon!).

Ok, I see. As for our family. The kids get a set amount of money. 50, and 75 to spend, on souvies. I usually bring things home like wine from Japan, and souvies for some of my close friends. So, I always need a little extra room, for packing.

We are getting pretty close. I am under 30 days!!

Good afternoon everyone! I must say I started packing last night, I couldn't help it! My boys have been earning their spending money since we got back last time. They have quite a little stash saved up. I better pack an extra suitcase for their purchases!

Also, I got some magical mail today. So, I just have to dance!!

I really wasnt looking forward to work today, but this mail made my day.

I wish my tickets would come though, thats when I get really excited

Well today I started to pack a little bit Not clothes, but all the other things, like stuff to decorate my window at POP, toiletries, pop up hamper, travel plug and kettle etc. I have made a mess of my bedroom though, maybe I should have waited
I already have a large holdall full so don't know what its gonna be like when I start to pack the clothes I have paid to take double luggage allowance, we have 40kg each so thats 120kg between us!

A kettle, is like a coffee maker right? I usually don't drink much coffee. Not because, I dont love it. It just makes my tummy upset a bit. I am however looking forward to having my first cup of Kona coffee, at Kona' for breakfast!!

You have to pre pay, for your luggage allowance, wow! I guess, I would look at packing differently, if they had rules like that here, on the airplane I fly. I usually weigh, the bags here at home, and if I am under 50. I am ok. But, the problem I sometimes face is when I am returning home. Since there are no scales on vacation. I pack everything, and then I am hit with a surprise at the airport of, either pay a surcharge or divide the contents between the other bags. This is why I pretty much am reserved to the fact of 3 bags. Two for our clothes, one for everything else. I really dont want to take 3 plus a carryon, we will see though!


I am beyond excitement now!! I have my documents! In 28 more days....
