The Magic, the Memories and the Food! February11 Update July 23 WPuck's Express

Love that chocolate on the cupcake it looks so good! :) I love chocolate.

We would eat at Bubba Gumps when we visited Kings Island amusement park in Cincinnati, sadly they are no longer there in the park. :(

I love chocolate too ...... maybe this is why we get along so well? :rotfl2:

The cupcakes are really good, but you either need to share them or be REALLY hungry - they are HUGE!!!! :lmao:

No more Bubba Gump's at Kings Island :sad2: - you definitely have to go to the one at Universal City Walk then! We LOVE it!!!!!!! ;)

Oooh that cupcake looks devine :) They do the best cupcakes in Starring Rolls next to the Boardwalk Bakery that is :)

They have the best cupcakes at Starring Rolls. :thumbsup2 And since you mentioned the Boardwalk Bakery ....... have you ever tried their Mickey Head Cake? :cloud9:

Mmm that choc peanut butter cupcake looks amazing!! :cloud9: It is on my list of snacks to get and can't wait to try one!

Yes, we are on the DDP - can't wait to try some of the yummy food available at Disney.

You really need to try it .... or any other they offer. They have such a huge array of cupcakes and they are all yummy!
And since you are on the DDP ......... they are snack credits! ;)

One of my goals is to get one of those cupcakes some day!!!

You never had one? You need to get one in August! They are SO good!

That sandwich looks devine !!! I am not a peanut butter fan so would pass on the cupcake , but it definately looked good !!

Rosie, that IS a huge sandwich and it was very tasty indeed!
If you don't like peanut butter, what about the Butterfinger Cupcake and they have a mean Marble Cupcake, and may I mention the Red Velvet one? :rotfl2:

I think I need to try one of Starring Roll's cupcakes next trip. Maybe I stand a chance at finishing one if I have just a cupcake and not a whole meal there.

If you haven't tried one ........... you NEED to try one. They are so good, but be warned, they are enormous and you need to be pretty hungry to finish one! :thumbsup2

Wow, I missed so many updates:scared1:

Your Mickey Mouse Sundae is the perfect size. As good as the other sundaes are you really need someone to share with if you want to finish one.

DH ordered the Orange sunshine and didn't like it:confused3 I thought it was okay, but I guess he expected it to be sweeter maybe? I liked my No Way Jose much better.

Miller's look very good. I love when restaurants have steak and fried shrimp together. Not too many Disney places offer that so we might have to head offsite next time.

Can't wait to hear about BG's. We have never been there but I hope to change that one day.

I love that Mickey Mouse Sundae - just the perfect size for a treat and not having to give up halfway through! :thumbsup2

Tom loved the Orange Sunshine because it wasn't too sweet. Sweets in the US are generally sweeter than the ones we have here, so he was pretty pleased to find something that wasn't so sweet.

We will definitely be back to Miller's Ale House. It is right behind the DTD hotel boulevard and the food was amazing!

Bubba Gump's coming right up! We loved it, ........ as always and if you get the chance to try it, please do! It is such a fun place to dine at!

Starring Rolls is our favourite CS place in Hollywood Studios :thumbsup2

It is definitely the best place for a quick and tasty bite to eat at the Hollywood Studios. And it has the best sweet treats! :thumbsup2

Catching up. I can't wait to try that caramel popcorn. And we have been to Beaches and Cream so many times, but I have not yet tried the orange slush that Tom had. I will order that in a few weeks when we are there.

I am glad you are all caught up again! I am so behind on all my threads too! That FRESH caramel popcorn is devine and anything at Beaches and Cream is yummy - have you ever tried a Kitchen Sink? :rotfl2:

I'm planning on grabbing some CS from Starring Rolls on our way out on our DHS day....that sandwich looks great and we all know how delish those cupcakes are! :goodvibes

Great idea! Just bring something to cool those cupcakes, or they will be melted once you are back at the resort! :thumbsup2
Then on the other hand, why not just head to the Boardwalk Bakery and pick something up from there? ;)

What seasoning did you buy? Was it at WDW or off-site? I'm such a kitchen gadget and spice junkie!!!

Michelle

We bought Weber's Gourmet Hamburger Seasoning. Something we can't get here and it taste really nice! :thumbsup2
It was bought offsite though, but I guess you already have it on your shelf! ;)

Sounds like a great meal at Starring Rolls! Those sandwiches are HUGE! But they look delicious!

That cupcake has been calling my name for a VERY long time now, but I've gotta try the red velvet one first.

Can't wait to hear about Bubba Gump's! :yay:

It was a perfect meal for us. Tom loves a good sandwich and I just love anything sweet!
I haven't tried the red velvet one yet myself but it looks pretty yummy! ;)

And Bubba Gump's is coming right up!

OK, we have never tried the Starring Rolls cupcakes....must fit those puppies in some time during our next trip!!!!:thumbsup2

Kat.. make it anything chocolate and we can go into diabetic heaven together... :goodvibes

You HAVE TO try their cupcakes! They are just SOOOOOOOOOO good and there is plenty to choose from!
Hope you get to try some next time!

That's my girls!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Day 6, February 24

Bubba Gump's

After having spent the morning at Disney's Hollywood Studios

IMG_9918.jpg

we drove to Universal Citywalk for some shopping and a late lunch. Once we arrived there

IMG_9919.jpg

we headed to Bubba Gump's right away. We were greeted at the entrance and told to follow the footprints, which we did.
Inside the restaurant we met a very nice and chatty greeter who made the time we had to wait, fly by.
We were led to a nice table for four, were briefed on the signs on the table and when we told the server that we had been to Bubba Gump before, she left with a smile and told us to “just use the sign” when we were ready to order.
There are signs on the table that say “Run, Forrest, Run” and “Stop, Forrest, Stop” which indicate to the server to either just walk right by a table or stop, according to what the sign says.
We took our time, studied the menu and when we knew what we wanted we turned the sign and the next server who came by, stopped right at our table to take our order. Tom ordered some Diet Coke and there is one drink I always need to have,

IMG_9923.jpg

the Strawberry Speckled Lemonade, tart, icy cold lemonade, mixed with sweet strawberries, which is just so good.

Tom ordered

Lt. Dan’s Drunken Shrimp, large chargrilled and juicy Shrimp and spicy Andouille Sausage with perfecty Mashed Potatoes and Bourbon Sauce. It looked and tasted fantastic and was a really good choice.
Even though there are a lot of things that appeal to me on the menu, I always order the

Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp, served with Cajun Marmalade and Fries. They are just too good to not order them! The shrimp are juicy and the coating of breadcrumbs and coconut is crisp. The coconut gives it a little sweetness, but not overpowering. Their sweet cajun marmalade is so nice with the coconut flavour and fries are fries. They give you a tiny container of coleslaw and to be honest that is more than enough, as their slaw is always a bit underdressed.

Both portions were huge and we were too stuffed to order dessert and we had another place we wanted to try for dessert.

Next up: Cinnabon

Hi Karin

Your Bubba Gump meal looks delicious :thumbsup2

We have only eaten there once but really enjoyed it

Looks like your next review is for one of my all time fave snacks :cloud9:

You really need to go back to Bubba Gump and try some more! ;) They really know how to treat a shrimp! :rotfl2:

I had read about Cinnabon a few times and we never made it there, but we made it a point that we did NOT walk by when we were at CityWalk in February! :goodvibes

Bubba Gump sounds so good!! We would fight over either of those meals in my family. Next time stop over by Cinnabon! We have one at every mall near me, and in some rest stow along the highway. Not sure if it's true, but supposedly they put one stick of butter in each large bun! And yes I can eat a large bun.... They are so good, but bad for you. We may stop at one only once or twice a year.

yay Bubba Gumps :cool1:
I like the extra details about the signs-think all restaurants should have something similar. I usually pick what I want but my husband, is so slow-we usually have to keep telling them to come back.
Its also nice to see something different, the Drunken shrimp looks yummy. :goodvibes
I dont blame you for odering your favourite. Im the same when I go to TGI's, I always order the shrimp. I dont want to order something different and then be disappointed.

great reviews, keep up the fab work.
Not long until your next holiday, have a great time.xx:wizard:

Great update Karin! Tom's dish looks so good, that I could go for it right now. We have eaten at Bubba Gump's before, at the Mall of America in Minneapolis, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would love to try it again as I would order what Tom did.

And I must comment on Starring Rolls, WOW! Those cupcakes and sandwiches always look so good. We would definitely have to share since they look so big. Can't wait till we are there in October. :)

We loved Bubba Gump's in Maui and we are staying one night at Universal on our next Disney trip and I already informed everyone that's where we are going! :goodvibes
thanks for the review :thumbsup2

Bubba Gumps looks good...I love coconut shimp! But I don't usually venture in to 'enemy territory' (Universal). :rotfl:

I haven't tried the Mickey Head cake from BWB but did get the lovely one you guys sent us last year which was yummy.

Yummy Bubba Gump dinner, looks soooo good!

Bubba Gumps is another place I hope to get to someday. I always hear such good things about it.

We had cocktails at Gump's last trip and I was wondering what the Run Forrest Run signs were all about! We have one here in NOLA and we have never been there!
