The Magic of Christmas....

My thirty plus years divorced parents and thier new spouses got along like old school mates

my nephews didn't fight and loved thier gifts and sat and waited till everyone got thier presents and then asked to start opening and were calm and polite and let me kiss thier stubborn pre teen little heads with out telling me they were too old for being cuddled

my brother and his girlfriend did not say anything insensitive to anyone and send my mother into a spiral of hurt feelings

I didn't lose patience and snap at anyone

I for once got totally surprised with a gift

It was an absolute great day to be in my family


It's A Freakin Christmas Miracle

Hope everyone had a happy holiday as well.

This could just be the afterglow of getting to see the Dr. Who Christmas Special, actually on Christmas but really even my mom agreed it was a low stress happy day.

It sounds like you may have had a wee bit of drama in the past. It's good to hear your family had a great day. We did too.

Not high drama, just little too much time in each others company drama, and my dad who has been long distance for many years with his current wife has only recently moved back into the state and he and my brother are just beginning to mend thier relationship and the twins are just little boys and usually impatient and pre teen snotty and trying to kill each other, and my parents have not spent a holiday with each other since thier divorce in 1973. My brother is well, just my brother and his girlfriend is a health nut and usually they both end up with thier foot in thier opinionated mouths. With all the possibility for drama, I was just happy that there was none.

I guess we all had enough Karma points this year to make it a non stress no drama family holiday.
