Day 1) continued
So I made an awful rookie mistake
I had found out before we left that the park hours had been extended to midnight w/ the EMH extended till 3 am. I had kept watching and checking to see if the parade and Wishes schedule would change to fit w/ the time change or if new shows would be added. It still had appeared before we left they had not added anything.
We knew this would be our only night to see the MSEP if we wanted to since it was NOT scheduled for later in our trip when wed be back at MK for the night (Keep that in mind for later) I had decided prior to leaving wed just play in by mouse-ear whether or not wed try to get back into the park prior to that or not. We had assumed wed miss Wishes all-together for the first night.
Well as we were arriving to WDW via the DME the bus driver was telling us how late MK would be open and the times for the parade and Wishes well I was thrilled thinking they had added an extra showing or pushed the times back and now we could see Wishes twice this trip (it really is my MOST favorite thing) but like a silly fool did I look up this information to confirm the time changes
Uh, no
We got back into the park about 8:20 pm as we were walking up I could hear music and fireworks, I am frantically pulling up Lines on my phone to see what is going on, hoping well maybe its just the Memories show and not actually Wishes but ugh I was so wrong we entered the park just as Wishes was ending and got packed in like Sardines. I had never seen Main Street so crowded
one time Matt and I back in 08 went to an eve EMH by ourselves here and had some trouble making our way up MS
but that was easy compared to this.
I had Nathan and Rachel and Matt had NR in the stroller and Bekah, we determined where we wanted to head to and said if we got separated wed just meet up there let me say it was HORRIBLE!
I held on tight to the kids and kept reassuring Nathan he was doing a good job and wed get through this and it would be ok I was surprisingly quite calm and Nathan (and Rachel) did wonderfully as we squeezed basically inch by inch in a sea of people up toward the hub I have no idea how long it took but we got through that mess and made it over to Adventureland unscathed.
Whew!
We wanted to go on POC first, but I was nervous w/ the crowds wed miss getting a good spot for the parade, so I stayed behind in LS near the stocks w/ NR and the stroller while Matt took the other three on the ride.
We took these pictures of the girls first though Bekah looks like she really is in trouble haha
Matt snapped a few quick pictures on POC too:
Ummm they look thrilled
And heres Nathans favorite Pirate on the ride Bill w/ the cats yes he really does have a name.
On a side note after the trip, Nathan had an appointment w/ his psychologist and talked about the trip a bit first and how many times he went on POC (his favorite ride) and then proceed in a 5 min monologue describing the whole ride scene by scene [smiles]
While waiting for them to return the CMs starting setting up the parade route and people will filling in. Then NR declared she had to go the washroom something fierce ugh! I didnt want to leave out spot nor could I wait. So I left the backpack on the stroller, picked up NR and made a mad dash to the LTT and into the washroom, of course there is like two stalls in there and a line and a little kid holding herself AND someone talking on their cell in the stall COME ON PEOPLE! Luckily the nice lady in front of me, let us cut oh thank you!
We got back to our spot and had lost it, whew!
Though now I was getting nervous and tried texting Matt and Bekah to see what their ETA getting back to us would be as I was moving up to the rope and concerned I would not be able to hold all these spots. Luckily they arrived back at the last second.
Matt recalled something screwy happened, but I dont remember what now and then the kids were telling me they got soaked! (I just read on Stringbeans TR and she and her BF got soaked on this ride too) This wasnt the only time some of us would get wet on this ride LOL
It was a cool evening a little chilly but not too bad, matt took a few pictures of the area before the parade came
Now the parade began
We had a lot fun enjoying the parade and swaying to the music, but now we were ready for some rides!
Stay tuned
