Day 2) continued more from EP

I last left out w/ us getting ready to do some shopping! I was hoping for this to be one of our main shopping excursions since I could use my AP discount in here too.

Getting ready to head in:
IMG_3914.jpg

(if you don't remeber what we go you can check back toward the begining of this TR at the souvie post...)

After we were done shopping I stood in line w/ Rachel I think? To pay while Matt and the other kids waited outside:
DSCN1376.jpg

Mr. Gnome checking out Mexico:
DSCN1386.jpg

Dinner was next on the agenda, as we were all getting hungry now and the sun was beginning to set…I figured we had better grab some grub before it got any later. We had decided in advance we were going to get food from several different countries as a little World Showcase feast…we decided upon: Mexico, Norway and China. Now the smart thing to do would have been to select a seating area in the middle i.e. Norway…but well we found some nice tables in the newly constructed patio outside Mexico and went w/ that…while I made all the food runs.

Here is one of our views:
DSCN1377.jpg

I got some chips and guacamole from the Cantina for NR and I:
DSCN1380.jpg

Plus some ice, water and churros for dessert for the kids (minus NR)…then I walked over to Norway to get 2 of the club sandwiches for the twins:
DSCN1378.jpg

Plus a School bread for Matt and I to share for dessert later….YUM!
DSCN1381.jpg

THEN….I hiked up to China’s Lotus Blossom Café for some more food for Matt, I, and Rachel…

While they were waiting for me to get back the 2nd time…Matt took a few pictures of the girls looking for me over the railing:

DSCN1382.jpg

I had asked when I got back w/ the food if they had seen me coming…I think they were waving…not sure why Matt didn’t take a picture…

DSCN1387.jpg

The food from China: potstickers and an egg roll, and some orange chicken and rice. Matt ate the chicken while Rachel and I split the others. I carried back the tray covered in napkins hoping I wouldn’t bump into someone…or more like someone into me…let’s say I was pretty tired after this food adventure…but we all ate well and were happy so it was worth it!

It was starting to get chilly as the sun was now down:
IMG_3918.jpg

IMG_3919.jpg

IMG_3915.jpg

IMG_3916.jpg

So we added on some extra layers and our scarves…we did some restroom runs over to the ones by the Odyssey Center which turned into a bit of a scare as Matt took NR and Nathan…and while Matt was going, Nathan was to sit w/ NR well she then starting walking off and got away from N. N in a panic tries to get Dad from the washroom and Matt frantically calls me on the cell…that NR is missing.:scared1:

Well then seconds later who shows up at the table but NR LOL I know not funny…but she knew where she was going….so after a bit of scolding we all headed over to Mexico for the boat ride. I of course though needed my restroom break so Matt waited over there w/ the kids for me. This next picture cracks me up:

DSCN1391.jpg

Look at Naomi-Ruth’s expression….[haha]

DSCN1392.jpg

cont. next post:

Here are few more pictures from inside:
DSCN1393.jpg

DSCN1394.jpg

Now this queue should have been a walk on…but as we were waiting in the line:

IMG_3921.jpg

It became a standstill and then the boats weren’t running…what was going on? :confused3 Seriously the crazies were out in force tonight…what we deduced is that some guests got a little rowdy on the ride and some other guests were complaining to the CM’s and then while the boats were stopped some other guests got off the boat and walked along the rides edge to exit out…geeze people come on…

We finally got on and got our Mexican groove on as we searched for Donald in this IASW knock off…. But hey we had fun:

IMG_3924.jpg

It was getting late and we really wanted to see the Chinese Acrobats and had missed the 6:15 show due to the line fiasco in Mexico so we decided to meander down that way and wait for the 7:15 show. Here are few pictures outside the temple as we waited:

DSCN1401.jpg

DSCN1403.jpg

DSCN1404.jpg

DSCN1406.jpg

They had the “stage” area roped off and we sat along there…the older children walked over to the outdoor boutique where the puppets are to look around for a bit.

And the music began and the performers arrived:
DSCN1409.jpg

DSCN1410.jpg

DSCN1417.jpg

DSCN1420.jpg

DSCN1421.jpg

This picture does not do this part justice…but the performer had this orb like ball that he manipulated in his hands it looked like it was floating in air…AMAZING!

DSCN1424.jpg

DSCN1425.jpg

The show was fantastic! We really enjoyed it and was so worth waiting for! They had a lot more props around their stage so they must change up each show, very cool! Definetly worth seeing again and again!

cont. next post:

Next Matt took the twins and they went to go ride the Malestrom as the little girls and I headed over to the Character Spot. This would be our first time seeing the characters in here. We didn’t have to wait long before the others showed up and in we went we had about a 20 min wait ahead of us (but it didn’t take that long).

The line wasn’t to full and it moved at a pretty steady pace of stop and go. It was nice they had some cartoons playing too.

Mickey was up first:
Photo0192FourBySix.jpg

Photo0194FourBySix.jpg

I kind of flaked here and should have gotta family group shot w/ the Mouse for our collection…duh!

For the next 4 characters I let each kid go up by themselves w/ one of the characters and then we go some group shots:

GROUP hug (they almost knocked him over…whoops)

Next was sweet Minnie…
Photo0207FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0209FourBySix.jpg

And the whole family too:
Photo0214FourBySix.jpg

And now Nathan’s favorite Donald Duck:
Photo0216FourBySix.jpg

When the other kids went up, Naomi-Ruth said “Hey Donald you don’t have pants on” LOL Donald tried to pull his shirt down…

Photo0218FourBySix.jpg

And now Goofy and his biggest fan:
Photo0234FourBySix.jpg

notice how their feet are touching (too cute)

Photo0237FourBySix.jpg

And Mom and Dad got in the act…
Photo0240FourBySix.jpg

That was a ton of fun, the handlers, and PP photographers were really nice, the characters were fun and played along, it was a bit rushed but not terrible. Great way to see them all!

We next backtracked to get another family group picture in our matching scarves:

Photo0244FourBySix.jpg

We had a nice time chatting w/ the photographer for quite awhile and I actually don’t remember what it was all about…

A few more nighttime shots:
DSCN1451.jpg

DSCN1456.jpg

We now decided that non of the kids really wanted to stay to see Illuminations as it was getting late and I was afraid we wouldn’t be able to find a good spot at this point. So we decided to go on SSE as a group and then Matt was going to stay behind to walk around WS during the show to take some photos while I took the kids back “home”

Here are a few pictures from our future…
IMG_3926.jpg

IMG_3927.jpg

IMG_3928.jpg

As we came of the ride it was just our heads (plus two other guests) heads on the Earth:

DSCN1506.jpg

DSCN1507.jpg

DSCN1508.jpg

Before leaving I got NR her treat for the night a fun kadoozie pop:
IMG_3932.jpg

IMG_3933.jpg

As we were leaving I saw more crazy guest antics near the monorail ramp these two male guests fighting I thought blows were going to happen…and then the car we were on had two teen boys on it w/ us doing flips off the ceiling bars….[rolling eyes]

Before we even pulled out of the station some freaky malfunction had occurred and they had to turn off the monorail for a minute and reboot the system…ah scary!

After that we made it back quite smoothly I think we stopped in the snack/sundries shop and grabbed some chocolate milk, ginger-ale, and some fruit…

Everyone went to bed quite easily and I watched the EWP as it stopped along the back side of BLT [happy]

cont. next post...

Now back to Matt and his nighttime adventure I will let his pictures do the talking for you…

It was a great end of Day 2) we all had such a nice and relaxing day!

MAGICAL MOMENTS:
1) sleeping in till after 9 am haha

2) the Chinese Acrobat show

3) all the great character interactions at O’Hana and EP

Stay tuned Day 3) is coming up…did we make RD for MK and did we get to see Rapunzel?

Thanks for reading, J~

Another great time! Those Chinese acrobats are so amazing.
That is a great idea for dinner, several different foods from around the world. :thumbsup2
Matt got some nice nighttime shots in Epcot and MK :goodvibes

Another great update!

Loved seeing the Chinese acrobats in your pics. I haven't seen them in epcot i years and it's probably time to show the girls who have never seen them.

I can't believe you were going from Mexico/Norway/China with all that food! Too funny! I would be afraid to spill it too (or rather someone bump into me).

Love your matching scarves!! That is really a cute idea, esp as you needed them for warmth and your coats/jackets wouldn't be matching. I'll need to remember that.

I forget, did you make them or buy them? I may need to get some for our Jan 2013 trip.

It never ceases to amaze me what people will do at Disney (get off rides in the middle of a ride, start fights, do flips on the monorail, etc).

Glad Matt had some time to wander around Epcot!

I'm guessing you did make RD (or close to it) and got to see Rapunzel. When we went this past January, I was actually surprised that there wasn't that long of a wait for Rapunzel. Guess the "hoopla" has died down a bit.

I already told Rachel that for our Mommy and Me trip, if she wants to see the new princess Merida, we'll need to make that a super-duper morning and go there first thing. Jerry won't be around to save us a spot.

Wow...what a great night at EPCOT! The pictures Matt took are gorgeous...very nice!

Love the matching scarves. :goodvibes

Wow so many updates!!! Your dinner adventure definitely sounds like a workout, but a delicious one!

The acrobats look awesome! I've only seen bits and pieces of their show before, it looks really impressive.

Great character and Photopass shots! I love the matching scarves!

Matt got great Illuminations shots! :goodvibes

Wow what a fun evening. Matt got some GREAT pictures of Epcot at night. Love the character interactions.

I love the matching scarves? Where did you get those? Not sure if I missed it in a previous post, but would love to get those for our trip Feb. 2013.

I like the idea of getting a few different foods from different countries to try as a meal! :)

I'm back and finally caught up. I LOVE all of the photos with the FAB FIVE...they are absolutely priceless.

I missed that update while we were on our trip! I love that Matt had some alone time at Disney. :thumbsup2

Looks like a fun night, but a bit crazy for you with all the food runs. :faint: And scary about NR wandering her way back to you without telling anyone! :scared1:

I love all the character pictures too! The twins are so tall now!

Hey Julie,

Those are some awesome night time photos Matt took in Epcot...:goodvibes

You all look like you were having a great time... sorry things have been rough for you recently ...

Disney does have a way of making things better .... Its good to have something to look forward to...

Looking forward to reading more...

I have been suffering from a bad case of lifeinteruptusmytr in a very bad way…last I posted about this trip that took place in January was in April and now it’s almost October and Im leaving in less than 20 days for Disney w/ friends…so fasten your seatbelts and hang on tight cause here we go…. :car:

Day 3 Tuesday Jan 17th
Today we went to the Magic Kingdom and the goals were:

Make rope drop

We arrived to the park just as the show was beginning at 8:45 am but not before I realized I forgot the Rapunzel autograph cards back in the room so Matt dashed back to get them and then meet up w/ us…

See Rapunzel

We made it 3rd in line I was proud of our fast moving feet and Bekah helping to carry Naomi-Ruth part of the way. I was bummed they no longer did a little show and Flinn was off on some adventure, but we all enjoyed meeting the newest Princess.

Have some fun in the WtP queue and ride

This was too fun for all, Nate got a bit bored but hung in there while the girls enjoyed the offerings. We of course bounced and bobbled our way along on the ride while singing along and looking for hidden Mickey’s and other fun things…

Visit Tom Sawyer Island

We hadn’t visited the island since 2008 all together and only a few of us went on 2009 so this was a real treat and Im glad a worked out a good amount of time here. It was still quite cool and not crowded at all. We also helped share a magical moment as a CM in training was guiding her first raft over w/ guests on it. I told her all she needed was “Faith, Trust, and a bit of Pixie Dust” we applauded her upon our safe arrival to the other side! I think we made her day…
