Day 4

We planned to visit a waterpark today but we woke up to really dark clouds outside :( booo! So thinking better of it we decide to head to DTD to do some SHOPPING! We got dressed and headed down to the Mara for some breakfast before heading out to the bus stop.

The bus came after a short time and we were off. The bus seemed to take FOREVER, but finally we were at the Marketplace. We shopped for an hour or so. I am pretty okay with skipping DTD, especially with all of the works going on but Jen really wanted to hit the shops, unfortunately she didn't find anything she wanted to buy though :( I more than made up for it and had all of my shopping bags delivered back to the resort (which turned out to be a good thing later as the rain came). I lost Jen in World of Disney, I searched all round but she had found a spot outside and was eating a corndog.

The rain had started now so we decided to make an exit and head to HS to watch Beauty and the Beast, a must for both us big girls :D

We decided to get on the bus to Swan and Dolphin and get the boat from there so we got in line for the bus. Just as the bus arrived a really loud family came up and tried to rush on the bus in front of everyone who had been waiting. They were told to wait to get the scooters on first, they then ran up the ramp and were told to get off again - and this was the parents! The kids were waiting off the bus in line :O Wow.

We were dropped off at S&D and the heavens really had opened up now :( We wade our way through the resort and out to the boat dock - I have to say I wasn't impressed with the hotel itself, I didn't think it was anything special. I cant remember which hotel we walked through though, which I guess says a lot! It was the first drop off anyhow.

We were, surprisingly enough, the only people waiting for the boat. The rain was hammering down now :( We were poncho'd up and making the best but I would be lying if I said it didn't affect us, we were both getting really cold.

We didn't have to wait long for the boat and we were soon making our way inside the gates at HS. First stop was starring rolls for me to get a napoleon, then to get Jen and ice cream, and then we got our spots for the show.

The show as always was amazing :D I would be so sad to see it go but I do agree that it kinda doesn't fit here anymore.

Afterwards we head back out to the boat and back to Epcot as we had Fastpass+ arranged. This probably wasn't the best idea as we were half way round world showcase and the sky was falling*

*note that the sky wasn't really falling, it just felt like it cause of the sheer amount of rain.

We stopped at a few booths for Jen to get some drinks, including the Dole stand for me to get a dole whip and Jen to get a rum version.

We also swung by the UK pavilion to see my friend Ann Marie hard at work ;)

We found this little lady hiding inside too!

Given the rain was still bucketing down, we were cold and the ponchos were no longer helping, we decided to cut and run. We changed our plans around - we were due to go to Sanaa the following night followed by drinks at TOTWL but I changed the reservation to tonight instead.

Outside the bus queue for AKL was HUGE so we hopped in a taxi. The taxi driver took us the long way though assuming I didn't know where we were or where we were going. I did call him up on it and had a go, he came up with some lame excuse that he didn't like to go the other way as there were more traffic lights... I didn't buy it I'm afraid so he didn't get much of a tip from me.

Back at the hotel we showered and changed ready for Sanaa. We took a few pics before heading out front to catch the bus over to Kidani.

We were half an hour early for our ADR but we were seated right away.

Some pics from dinner.

Jen with her nice cocktail

Me with my diet coke lol

We had a fabulous meal and a great server which was novel as the last few have been a bit rubbish here ;)

Outside we hopped in a taxi over to BLT (not the same driver and we were there quicker then the driver from Epcot even though its further away!). We checked in downstairs and were taken up to the lounge by a lady from Belize. The rain had died off by now luckily. We ordered a few cocktails at the bar (mocktail for me!) and sat drinking them at the bar for a while.

We then headed out to watch the fireworks, Jen was very impressed :)

We didn't stay long after the fireworks as we were both so tired and still a little cold. We grabbed another taxi back to AKL.

Bed as soon as we were back at the hotel.

Loving your report so far :) cannot wait for the next instalment:) have to ask, where did you get the red/ white polka dot ponchos?!?!?! So so cute!!!! Did you both have them?!?

Hi Robyn. I'm enjoying reading about your girlie trip.
You said the you had a standard view but on some of the balcony piccies it looks like a savanah view. Did you get an upgrade? I'm staying there in August with a standard view, so was just wondering.

Aww thank you! The ponchos were from Walmart, and so much cheaper than the Disney ones. They are actually both mine but I took them both so Jen could use one too, the one I was wearing was Mickey :)

Ah yes we were in one of the elusive standard view that were downgraded savannah views! Are you staying DVC or in the normal hotel part? We are DVC and when I did online check in one of the options was Kudu trail so I requested that, as I know all of the other DVC standard views are pool and Kudu isn't anywhere near the pool ;)

No, not DVC we actually booked 5 nights through Hotels.com. We are staying on I drive for 14 nights (package deal) & were not going to do Disney, but couldn't bear it. We got the last 5 nights for just over £500 so a good price. I am a little worried about the view because it says could be no view??

Just going to catch up on your tripie.

Ah I see. that's a brilliant price though! you could always ask nicely if they had any 'partial savanna' rooms available though :)
