The LUCKY Muffin Spoke to Me - Halloween at WDW & Summer 2011 at DLR - 01/09/11

Hey girl! Sorry I haven't been on to chat in a few days! I went out of town with my sister and my best friend for a "daycation" in the mountains. I will definitely be on to chat tomorrow, though! :goodvibes

Yay! I'm so excited that you're eating at Chefs! I almost chose there, but the Le Cellier menu was calling my name so I went with it instead. But I really really really want to try Chefs someday! I can't wait to hear what you think of it! :)

When we decided to add on another Epcot day, I started straying over to the Dining/Restaurant board to find out if a certain rat is still appearing at Chefs.

So, we're now going to be having lunch at Chefs with Remy!!!

I don't know if its just me and a long day, but I :rotfl2: when I read this. Usually, people don't want to dine with rats and here we are all excited about eating at a restaurant with rats! For some reason, it really strikes me as funny!! But yah for lunch with a rat! I would love to do that!

You know how when you're looking at the Pre-Trip Report page, with all the posts listed by title? There are the ones that I'm are currently reading that I check for, but there are always other titles that look interesting. But I often don't click on them because they're already so long and I feel weird joining in late.
I've been seeing yours and wondering what this muffin said and how it said it but never started reading until today. But now I am all caught up!

Your plans sound great, and I am jealous that you get to have a Halloween trip! We go in early September and are SO close but not quite in time for a MNSSHP.
Can't wait to see your surprise costumes!

I've heard a lot of people decided to skip IOA/US/HP this fall. Now I am really worried about crowds. But we're still going, and hoping that staying at US and having a few days to see things will make it all ok.
Sounds like your decision to skip HP this time around is a good one for you, and I think two MNSSHP sounds like a TON of fun!

I definitely understand what you mean! So, welcome!! I'm going to head to your PTR today, too!

That's just another reason to go again (for MNSSHP!)

Where are you staying at US? We stayed at Royal Pacific last year and ADORED it. It is such a different experience from Disney; definitely love them both for different reasons!

Sorry I logged off! I'll look for you tonight!

I think we're playing tag!

I hope you had a great daycation!!

I never really thought I'd enjoy Chefs, but our CPP dinner was there last year, and I really liked it. I'm excited to try the lunch menu and to see Remy!!

What are you dressing up as? Ahh you better do a TR with pics!

Shhh; it's a secret! Well, the second costume is! The first one, we're using the pirate costumes my mom bought that we didn't get to use last year! I will most definitely be doing a TR; that's why I'm not posting what our other costumes are just yet!

Haha; I'm glad you got a chuckle. I typed it hoping it'd be taken that way. :goodvibes

I'm just excited DH agreed to it! He was just "OK" with our dinner there last year, but the lunch menu looks completely different! Plus, it is REMY! How do you say no to him!

Yup, G-Chat is Google Chat! I keep it open at work; it's the only thing that keeps me sane with that many attorneys!

Message me with your FB and Google email! I'll add you to both!! :goodvibes

You should definitely head to DTD! Even if we aren't there at the exact same time you get there, we can run over! We'll be at SSR, which is just right across the lake!

I have a whole Disney tree! Last year was the first year that I had enough to deck out a whole tree! I'll put a couple of pictures of that up now. (I'm an addict; no ifs, ands, or buts about it! I just started buying a few years ago, too. But, I already have enough to fill up at 6-foot tree. I tell DH that our first house is going to have to have insanely tall ceilings just so I can fit a tree with my ornaments!)

I hope that it is great! It's our one special thing we're planned this trip! I've never been over to that area at all, either. I've heard some of the campers decorate their sites, so I'll take pictures if I find anything!

Hello; I'm Heather, and I'm a Christmas decor addict.

Haha; I'm going to take pictures of our new ornaments and post them tomorrow, but in the mean time, here is an interruption to this PTR in the form of Christmas trees. Yes, trees. My mom and I have always put a tree in practically every room of our house. This has become a tradition with DH and myself, too.

My parents put up a real tree every year:

This was the tree that started the different color theme; we put it up in my parent's formal living room. It is all Victorian-era themed, with a few breast cancer ornaments for good measure:

All of our trees now have something in common:

The "blue tree" quickly followed in my (old) room at my parent's house:

Then, I moved out on my own and we put together a "girly" tree full of shoes, purses, feathers, etc. in my first apartment; now, Brad is still OK with it going up in our apartment (for a reason you will see in a minute):

I love this ornament! We got it at the Rockettes' Christmas show last year:

And, of course:

When DH and I got married, I knew I needed to do something big for him as a Christmas gift. I had let him display all of his Steelers' memorabilia in our office on the condition that I got to decorate the rest of our apartment; he was definitely up for that. But, when he came home from work one day at the beginning of December, he found this waiting (with every collectible Steelers' ornament I could find in stores and online) on him in the office:

Then, along came this little guy. I actually put one of these together for DH/myself and one for the parents. I bought everything and took it down to WDW last year (during our Christmas trip), and set them up in our rooms as a surprise for my parents. Now, they will be set up as a centerpiece in our houses each year:

And, my Disney masterpiece:

The topper:

:rotfl: All my friends used to think my family was nuts for having 2 trees! I had two here, a little one in a window, and the bigger one. The bigger one isn't supposed to be a Disney tree, but most of my ornaments are Disney! My Mom has a Christmas countdown (with Mickey & Minnie, obviously!) that she changes the cube everyday to reflect the new number of days til Christmas! Her favorite thing to do on December 26 is say, "Only 364 more days until Christmas!"

Great plans!! I would LOVE to see pictures of your Disney ornaments!! We are such ornament collectors here!
I have my fingers crossed that your flight won't change again-- I HATE when that happens!!

AHH! I love all your trees!! The pink/Victorian one is sooo cute.

Also love the "hidden" mickeys on each tree.

I'm planning on buying an ornament or two at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in MK or at Disney's Days of Christmas if we go to DTD after Epcot...which I am planning on! Just looked up that the stores close around 11. So, we could probably go over there after Illuminations for an hourish or maybe just skip it since we saw it in March! Then we could maybe meet up if you're not having too much fun at SSR!

I don't know which store has a better collection, but I've heard great things about Disney's Days!

Your plans look great! I like that you've included a lot of AKL exploration time - I really regret not doing more of that when we were there in January. :guilty:

Oh my goodness, I can totally relate to the Christmas decor! I go crazy over it! For about five years I did a different theme and bought all new ornaments, decor, everything each time. :scared1: It was fun but pretty pricey! Now I have a set theme that I do every year that matches the rooms in my house that the trees go in. :thumbsup2 But the amount of Christmas decor boxes I've accumulated for someone my age is scary! :lmao:

I can't wait to see your new ornaments!
