The Lost Continent?

I just watched a video of the area and liked the way it looked, but have heard that the two shows there are not worth seeing. So I wanted to know what there is to do at the Lost Continent. What do the shops sell? What are fun things to do (Besides the mystic fountain)? IS there anything you can do there that is entertaining???

If you've got more than one day, I definitely recommend the Poseidon's Fury attraction. If you have small children, I definitely recommend the Sinbad show. Mythos is the best thing in Lost Continent. The Mystic Fountain is pretty cool too. The Lost Continent used to contain the entire area where the Wizarding World is now. Rumour has it that a bit more Lost Continent will be given up to some Wizarding World expansion. There are only a few shops. One sells clothing mostly. Another sells more exotic type merchandise.

There is nothing wrong with the 2 attractions to at least see once. We normally do them since we have plenty of time when we go.

I'd heard negative things about Sindbad (don't ask me about the spelling; that's how they spell it!), but DS especially quite liked it.

We did Poseidon's Fury on our last trip and....we're just not sure. It's not a ride, it's not a show, it's a....who knows? It was worth it once, at least. It's well done and impressive, but it's long, you have to move rooms many times (then again, you do that for Disaster, too, don't you?), and if you have kids in your group, it's LOUD LOUD LOUD. And a bit spooky.

It does have one excellent special effect, when you move through the water tunnel. How do they do that?


So I'd give them both a shot, at least once. It's pretty in that area and it smells of nice incense. They have heraldry stuff for sale, including swords and knives and such. I haven't looked in the other shops. Oh and they have games of chance like a carnival.

Don't let the negative reviews sway you. We like the area and the shows. We always do everything once anyways.

We always go through the area, and we really like Poseidon - not sure why it gets dissed so much. A bit corny, but some neat special effects. It does get creepy at times, but definitely something to experience at least once, then decide for yourself.

I think Poseidon's Fury gets a bad rap because it is a walk through attraction. If they would have had you go through on vehicles like The Great Movie Ride, it would be much more popular.

well, i haven't been to it in 3 years when that happened so really don't know if the water portion is back in the story sets or not.

it's not a bad show at all.
the scenery is beautiful, the front of the building is great, and it is a different type of entertainment.

like i said, i have by passed the show for 3 years.
i liked it better with the water portion.
i'll try to hit it this fall on my next trip.
i do have 10 days at the park so i know i can squeeze the time in for it.


last year i started to do the show but the wait was too long for me.
i had a ressie at Mythos so i had to hussle over to the restaurant.

We're exactly the same. I haven't seen the show for a few years. It is a once every now and again attraction for us. Mythos, on the other hand, is a once or twice a vacation restaurant.

We did both shows last year and they were both entertaining. Sindbad has an adventurous storyline with water, fire, acrobatics and comedy thrown in for the little ones. Poseidon's Fury was intense at times for the kids but we all enjoyed it. The Mystic Fountain got my husband as we walked by and it said, "don't blame me, I was just made this way". I got a really good laugh out of it but hubby didn't look as impressed.

We are going to try out Mythos on our upcoming trip and I already have the reservation made for August.

"Sheesh Kabob" give it a try and I am sure that you won't regret it!

Sinbad is extremely cheesy. But it's so cheesy that it's funny, so we like it. Poseidon's was much better than I expected it to be. Thought it is dark and loud with fire and roaring water effects, so be careful with little ones.

Mythos restaurant is VERY good and worth going. It's signature quality food and around the same price as an outback steak house.

we loved Sindbad.Poseiden was AWFUL..The audio was bad ,couldn't follow the plot line.The only impressive thing was the outdoor facade of the building.The water vortex wasn't working right when we were there either.Worth a look-see once, but we won't ever waste our time again unless they re-do it

and they are especially nice to me after the show when i ask for picture time with them......




it pays to root for the bad guy..........


i always sit in the middle section by the platform for a great view of the entire show.

the actors move around the stage and that constant motion keeps you interested.
well, it does for me.

Absolutely HATED Poseidon. First there was some kind of problem that turned a 10 minute wait into an hour wait without any communication to what the delay was. Then as somebody previously said, I didn't get the story line at all. Wasn't expecting a walk through attraction. It was campy and a huge waste of time.

We're really not sure how much time we're going to have, but Poseidon sounds interesting. We might give it a try, since it sounds unique and cool. Sinbad, idk, it sounds okay but I just don't know! I'll watch videos of both and see what I think. The Poseidon outside already intriged me. I wanted to know what was in there when I watched the video!

Hmm. If we have time (and money) we might try those. Even though my money is being saved up more for Harry Potter. But it all depends.

I liked the original storyline of Poseidon, but now, with that bad guy Darkenon it's just silly. And the wait is insane. I think they don't do continuous shows, as both times we went (once with the original storyline, once with the new) we stood in the same spot in the dimly lit queue area for more than 30 min.

The land also has some carnival type shops, fortune teller, etc. Right next to the enchanted fountain is a magic shop that does little shows throughout the day where they present some of the tricks. I think it's a fun little show and while they make it obvious that they do sell them, I never felt any pressure to buy anything (at least not from the guys working there, parents might feel some pressure from their kids...)
