Hello! I'm new here and just saw the rules to this group and was amazed that there was a group that described my life so well!!!
I knew I wasn't alone...I just knew there were others like me out there! I am so proud to be a loser!!! haha!

Look forward to chatting with you all!:goodvibes

you found us!!

Say no more..your location tells us you belong!

I'm new and after I read the requirements, I might be able to "belong" here on certain days of the week -- but not all. Can I still join?

I'm pretty much feeling like a loser today.....

I know! I know! I use my veggie (crisper) drawer in the frig for cans of soda!! One drawer is for diet and one is for regular!!!:thumbsup2

Look at all the new people!!!!

As far as fractions go, I have no problem with them. My job actually requires that I use fractions on a daily basis, so it's no biggie to me.

It's just trying to explain it to an 8 year old that doesn't want to listen (or do his homework).

He started simple fractions in 1st grade, with graphs and squares and things like that.

Now they're learning about estimating in terms of fractions, reducing fractions, and that kind of stuff. DS is really smart at math, but that's because he comes home and says "I don't get it" and I explain it to him in a logical way.

Fractions. DS8 is doing fractions. Lovely, lovely fractions.
Yuck I always hated math

Does salad in a sack count? That's where mine is.
If you can still see what it is then you are using the drawer to much.:rotfl2:

Welcome I see that by where you live you have a head start to be one of us.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Afternoon all!!!!!
Hi Kelly

Oh my gosh, oh my goodness!! Best news I've heard all day!!

I guess my moaning and groaning paid off, because Bubby decided he'd go in my place!!! I am ecstatic!! No DC tomorrow!!

Well, ok, I am kinda depressed that I'll miss a Subcommittee meeting, since I've never been to one, and how often does one get invited anyway? But, I certainly won't miss the 2 1/2 hour ride each way, the train ride, walking in heels, meeting with people that I don't really like, nor would I ever vote for, in hopes that they understand my point of view.

Well, I was kinda looking forward to hearing all about your visit to the subcommittee meeting. I've never known anyone who had a reason to speak before a subcommittee. However, if you are happy that you don't have to go, then I'll be happy for you. I hope that it doesn't fall on deaf ears and they take your situation seriously.

Don't tell me that some of you losers actually use that drawer for fresh veggies! :scared1: That's just not right!

My veggie bin currently has apples, celery, and salad in a bag. I don't drink coffee, so no reason to buy creamer. :guilty:

Fractions. DS8 is doing fractions. Lovely, lovely fractions.

:scared1:

Me too. :confused3

Whew! You guys talked a lot today...I gotta feed my family, but wanted to catch up...

:headache: Good morning all,

dd7 decided to pull a faint on me last night as we changed her earrings because she pulled on out with a jump rope incident. Just, boom!, went down hit her head on the door jam and the tile floor. Egg size lump, race off to the doctors, they said she was fine and was probably a one time thing. I thought I was going to pass out. She laid there with her eyes opened, twitching alittle...very scary!!!

Doctor says she "fainted" and should be find, but now I will have to keep a watch over her, I couldn't believe she just fell over like that, I thought she was goofing around like she does.:scared1:

So, she's home today to keep my company in my house, that again, has exploded from some inner universe all over the place. I just have tooooo much crap! ! ! ! !:yay:

LL
YIKES!!!!
Hey. I just got a call that one of my friends brother died this morning. Motorcycle accident. Don't know any details.

*Update* It was my friends brother. They look a lot alike, and the wrong name got out. His motorcycle got pinned under a car. They were going around an extremely dangerous curve in town. It happened at 7:15 this morning. They were confused because the accident was so bad his face is not recognizable. Its been quite a morning.
That so sucks...I hate drugs
I was putting in new earrings (just pierced in Feb., pulled out the starter with a jump rope and its, like, gone baby gone) then all of a sudden, on the second ear (the uninjured one)
She went down with eyes wide open, kind of staring but the eyes were moving back and forth, like she does when shes "prentending" to be dizzy. It was almost convulsive but not quiet, didn't pee herself and said she "went to sleep" for a little bit, so she was out, out even tho her eyes were wide open, and she didn't hear me or respond when I was talking to her. I thought, at first, she was fooling around, then when she didn't answer me, knew it was real and when I bent down to her, she came around and her eyes focused on me. Then she said she was VERY sleepy and wanted to lay down, but I didn't let her and off we went to the doctor.

If it happens again, tell the ped you want a referral to a pediatric neurologist!
has bavaria posted here recently?
Haven't seen her in a while...hope she didn't get a life!
I feel pot-stirry.
Oh good lord! (wait for about an hour)
Oh my gosh, oh my goodness!! Best news I've heard all day!!

There are 3 people involved in my crab business. Me, I run the factory and do the paperwork. Hubby, who does the ordering and the delivery and handles customer relations. And Bubby, who works the crab boat, and is in charge of crabber relations.

Well, this morning, Bubby drops by the crab house and asks if I'm going to the DC thing tomorrow. I moan and groan and tell him yes, but also let him know I'm freaked out by it because that means I won't be at the factory, which means my MIL will be taking care of it alone, and that's a disaster waiting to happen, I don't have a REAL babysitter, just a cousin's wife who will watch the youngest for a few hours, then my MIL would have to go get him and deal with him while she finished up at work. And hubby is off to NC again tomorrow, so he won't be around to help out with things.

I guess my moaning and groaning paid off, because Bubby decided he'd go in my place!!! I am ecstatic!! No DC tomorrow!!

Is the 33% better for you?

Welcome new loser. We love new people.

Oh shore are you sure you do not write books on the side.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I am reading one the Celia Riverbanks books and it is so funny.
I would type the title but I am still on what Lara calls the naughty mat:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Looks like we have more people coming over to the dark side Mwahahahaahahhaha

However, if you are happy that you don't have to go, then I'll be happy for you. I hope that it doesn't fall on deaf ears and they take your situation seriously.

Well, the guy in charge wanted me to attend, but told me that if I couldn't, I had to have someone there to represent my company. The last time I went to DC, I took Bubby with me, so I'm not completely throwing him to the wolves by sending him tomorrow.

It was something I was dreading, but looking forward to at the same time. Kinda hard to explain. It's not something I WANT to do, but it's something I may never have the chance to do again.

I mean, I stay away from political threads on the DIS. I have my beliefs, but I hate debating and defending my beliefs to other people. If I have a hard time doing it on an anonymous internet forum, how hard would it be for me to debate my views with Hon. Lofgren, democrat from California, who does immigration politics for a living?

Now, I have no problem strutting into a Senators office and sitting down with them one on one and talking to them about it and explaining my views. But in front of an entire formal committee that specializes in this area? It's a little daunting, to say the least.

Is the 33% better for you?

33% is better than the proposed 40% reduction. I'm not sure exactly what he means by that, though.

40% was 6 bushel limit, closed April, May, December. I believe the 30% reduction was 7 bushel limit, closed December. So I'm guessing he wants something in between?

To tell you the truth, I've always wanted to write. I started writing stories when I was about 12. But my nosey mother always read what I was writing, so I got out of that (same reason I don't keep a journal or diary).

Right now, it's just so hard to write a single paragraph on the DIS, because the kids are fighting over who got more ketchup, and this one's making a mess, and that one hit me with a poo stick.
