Lara -- sounds good, the less traumatic the better!!

I finally just got home. There were some complications. Aren't there always?

I get to the bus station, one of the guys has lost his suitcase (Loser). We file a report and the lady behind the counter remembers me and brings out the previous Loser's suitcase. We walk back outside. I took my Expedition this time instead of the van because there's 4 girls and the 1 guy, so I figured it would be more comfy for everyone.

And then they start piling in the car...and I'm counting heads....how'd I end up with extra people?!?!?! There's an extra head, and I'm trying to figure out what's going on. I know they don't just let people cross the border for no reason, so I'm wondering who this extra chick is and what she's doing in my car.

Turns out, extra chick = my guys girlfriend. She works for another company in the area, not me. The other companies workers aren't even supposed to leave Mexico til sometime next week, and they have no other workers here yet.

What the frig am I supposed to do with her, especially since I call 3 numbers to try to get ahold of the owners of the other company and NO ONE is answering their phones??

Someone finally calls me back, they have no idea how she got here or why she's here NOW instead of 10 days from now. They tell me where to take her, so I go to drop her off, but noooooooooooooooooooo. She's going to be staying with her boyfriend. Luckily for me, her BF doesn't live in one of my houses because we have a strict "no opposite sex" policy that consists of no fathers, no brothers, no sons, no boyfriends, no guy friends, no grandfathers, no cousins, no one of the opposite sex!! They can come to pick them up, they can stay outside, but they can't be IN the house with a bunch of half naked girls.

Anyway, I digress.

Now I'll be getting phone calls in the morning from the other company wondering wth happened to the extra chick since she isn't where she's supposed to be.

But I figure that's their problem now. I've had enough of the drama, and I am not dealing with any more.

Either way, it would have been nice if extra chick spoke up and asked for a ride, or asked me to give her a lift somewhere, but nooooooo. Extra chick doesn't open her mouth.

Would you just climb in a complete strangers car and expect them to take you somewhere without even asking them first?

WOW. I am still trying to figure out how you got home so fast...I was reading your last posting times and trying to calculate an hour and half there, an hour and half back, stop at the grocery store, explain what shampoo vs. shower gel is, stop at Goodwill for clothing for Mr. Suitcase loser, go to the Tienda for phone cards...I wasn't expecting you to get home til after 11:00...I don't wanna know how many speed/low flying regulations you violated!

I'm glad you are home, and the case of the missing suitcase and girlfriend are over....or are they..there is still one missing suitcase? I don't even care..I am sorry you had such a crappy Saturday. I hope you can make up for it and do something relaxing tomorrow.

g'nite y'all..

:goodvibes It's kinda hard to tell, but the Tag Fairy even colored my word "gray" in GRAY!

I noticed!! That was nice of the TF!

As far as getting home early, yes, I did fly rather than drive...but also, there was no thrift store or tienda mexicana open at this hour, so we didn't have to stop there.

Oh, and there was one other thing. I went back to KFC to get some more chicken for the second crew. It took forever for me to get to the front of the line, and when I ordered a big bucket of chicken, they told me it would be a 20 minute wait!

I said, "You call that fast food? I'm going to Popeyes!"

Shore, your life is interesting.

If you only knew...

I've not been on the DIS when I was working. I just joined in November last year, and even though the factory was going, I wasn't working because I had pneumonia at the time.

Give me a little time, and I'll have co-worker stories to blow your mind.

Oh, and my MIL works for me, so I'll have a MIL/co-worker combo.

I can't wait.

Hey ladies. I'm pretty new here, but I was invited to stop by (I won't mention any names, though). I figured I'd check out this thread & see what you all were like. I mean, if you say something about "dishes can wait" in the title of your thread, we're bound to have lots in common! :lmao:

Anyway, I read through the "rules" on the first page, & I'm really confused as to why you bother to call them "rules" - for me, they're just a way of life!

Anyway, I didn't read every post (that would take a lot of effort, wouldn't it? - and why would I want to do stuff the hard way?), but I did skim through a few of the most recent pages, & I noticed things like shopping, drinking, going out to eat, and something about cupcakes . . . :confused3 I really feel comfortable here!

So, am I allowed to join you ladies? Here are my qualifications: I am married (though I promise that you will never hear DH call me wife-of-the-year), I have 3 kids who all knew how to fix their own breakfast by age 3, I have a full-time job where I do most of my DIS-ing, my friend's 4 year-old daughter recently told me that I needed to clean my house, and my favorite place in the house? - in my bed, watching TV.

Oh, & I'm too weak (& probably lazy) to let the binky fairy come into my house! ;)

:wave:Hi Loser! I can't speak for the others, but I know I for one won't win wife or mom of the year, either.

I can't wait to hear your stories. :goodvibes You sound like you have an interesting life!

HEY!!! Sometimes I'm serious. This is one of those times.

Ok, well, let me share this little tidbit with you.

The first crew....

I pick them up at the bus station, bust out my Spanish, introduce myself, help the Loser fill out her baggage claim, take them to the store, explain the difference between body soap and shampoo, tell them they'll need phone cards to make a long distance call, take them to the thrift store, bring them to their house and drop them off, with instructions to go to Luis if they have any problems because he has my number and he'll call me.

Then one of them turns to me and says, in Spanish, "Go to Luis, and he'll call you."

I nod.

She then says, "You speak Spanish?"

Uh, no, we've just been having a conversation in Egyptian for the last 3 and a half hours!!!

:scared1: Oh my, I thought I had it bad. This, in addition to your most recent story about your evening with the Mexicans, makes me strangely curious about you!

I don't work with my MIL, but I do have some stories. And as for co-workers, let me just say that I work in the school system (though not as a teacher) . . . so, I think we could definitely have enough drama to keep each other entertained on a rainy day! ;)

Ok, well, I enjoyed my first evening here with some of you "losers", and I really appreciate my "welcomes". 10 years ago if someone ever told me that I would be spending my Saturday night posting comments to a "loser" thread (especially on a Disney board :lmao:), I would have told them they were out of their mind!

Oh well, it's just nice to be accepted for my faults and to know that I'm not the only one who isn't a Donna Reed/Martha Stewart clone. :rotfl:

Hopefully, I'll be able to check back in with you ladies tomorrow. :surfweb:

Good morning all, I did drag my butt ouf of bed to go to 9 Mass. DH is still oh so sick so he is going to saty home so he can rest up for baseball practice later. Somehting seems out of wack there, oh well...

will check back later....

Morning.

Woke up with a horrible headache...have to get moving anyway.

See you all later.

:wave2: I'm tired. I was up WAY too late reading that Lileks stuff. I think I'm in  .

Anybody doing anything interesting today?
