Hi y'all! I have been out and about today, I felt like shopping. OK, I haven't been serious clothes shopping since before DS10 was born..I buy an occasional t-shirt or jeans once in a great while, but shopping on purpose just hasn't been necessary, nor interesting.
Last night I attacked my closet with the same verocity that I did with DSs' t-shirts. I pulled out everything I thought was the least bit ugly or ill fitting...you wouldn't believe the pile of clothes I have on my floor, waiting for me to decide if I feel like trying to ebay some of it or just give it to Goodwill. So I am examining the contents of my closet and I realize that other than blouses, dresses, sweaters, and underwear, the majority of my wardrobe comes from the mens department. I used to only buy mens Levis...I have tons of t-shirts-at least 75% of them have some kind of logo or cartoon character on them. Those are all oversized mens..mens polo shirts, mens shorts. And I actually do have some curves...mostly where I don't want them, but I just buy big baggy mens stuff, so I don't have to try to get things to fit...
So today I decide it's time to grow up and become a woman. I go out to the discount places, TJMaxx, Ross, Marshalls, then to the mall, Macy's, Old Navy, Dillards..I am thinking to myself. "WHEN DID WOMEN'S CLOTHING BECOME SO UGLY???" ( and please don't take this personally if you like these styles, I am sure they work on some women...but....) Foofy sleeves that look like butterfly wings. Cap sleeves that definitely don't look good on my turkey neck looking upper arms.. Frocked, smocked, everything looks like maternity wear!! NO no no, I didn't like looking pregnant when I actually WAS pregnant, you think I wanna look like it now at 50???? See-through, peasant, too long, too short...I didn't see one thing in the 5 hours that I was out there that interested me. Except the Krystal hamburgers I stopped to get...and I am sure I am gonna regret that purchase later...
I give up...I will just wear my men's Xlarge Mickey Mouse t-shirt every day until it wears out...at least it's comfortable and has a friend on it..
So watcha been up to today. Do I need a link to the religion thread? I usually stay out of those..I am no match for a bible thumper that can spout off verses at will...half the time I am sure they are making them up, but I haven't a clue so what can I say??
