Take him to krispy Kreme--a free donut for every A!

I bribe my kids. I just call them rewards. They get $1 for every 100% on tests/projects/reports (not assignments) and $5 for every A (or 4 in DS case) on their report cards. A bonus $20 if all the grades on report cards are A's. (They also get a $20 if they make Presidential Fitness award.)
It works for us. My kids don't get allowances. They really need no spending money at all as we pay for anything they do. This just gives them a little cash to spend or save as they choose.

I do just about the same. $5/A, $3/B, nothing for C and if they get a D or F, they lose everthing..$5 bonus for all A's. They haven't ever gotten anything less than a B. Mine don't get allowances either, so this gives them some extra for WDW...They are gonna get it from me some way, might as well be for good grades.

Y'all, I fogot to share this with you. All this coffee talk has reminded me. This morning I took a big mouthful of coffee and for some reason forgot how to swallow. I ended up doing something-I don't know what, but I started choking and ended up with coffee squirting out of my nose. It doesn't burn as much as Coke does, but man it was VERY uncomfortable....I couldn't stop coughing or sneezing...I dont' ever want to do that again..

Just thought I'd share, now where is that Pie...

Oh, I am not against bribing good grades :goodvibes Here is my take on the situation. Even in a job that you are getting paid for...when you are doing a good job or exceptional job you get a raise or bonus. Why should it be different for them? School is the childs job and if they are doing their best - and I mean applying themselves, not necessarily an A then they should be rewarded periodically for that. No, maybe not EVERY time, but there is nothing wrong with doing it :thumbsup2

ITA:thumbsup2 We usually do a reward at the end of the year for a good report. Mommom does the every report card thing, this way she gets the buying itch I can put it towards something.

Ok got DS10 to ortho, got both boys haircuts, went to the bank, got DS5 to school,(after he decided to miss the potty and pee on the wall:headache: ), picked up DS10's friend, they are playing outside and I am trying to make my house not seem like such a pigpen when they come in from playing outside.

OMG.... I broke DH's mower :headache:

No good deed goes unpunished, I suppose

The car came into his lane, and essentially ran over him and the motorcycle. His brother (my friend) and another close friend were all at the scene. When they pulled up and saw his bike, the other firemen had to keep them in the ambulence because they realized what had happened. Very sad morning. This is the 6th kid from my high school that has died in the past 2 years. Way too much sadness for one small town.

Oh, I am so sorry.

Ok my turn to lose my mind.

I swear I know I have a box of garbage bags in this house. I gave one to #1DS the other day. Now I can't find it:headache: I know how I'll find it, I'll go buy another box of them while at Walmart & then as soon as we get home I'll see them.

Fraggle-
FE has a motorcycle & I can't believe how other people drive around him while he is on it. I have been driving in front & behind him and seen the other drivers cut him off, get to close to his back end.
I swear what do they think they are doing?

Well to add to all of our bad days, a good friend of mine just called & told me he needed to talk. So he is coming over tonight. He is always let things roll off his back, happy person. So this is very unusual. hmmm.

Found the box of garbage bags. they were under the clean clothes on the couch:headache:

My dad has one too and I cant stand how people drive around them. I grew up around them, so I always give them a TON of room and drive very very very carefully around them. It blows my mind. He was wearing a helmet, but apparently it didn't matter. The car was going too fast around the curve, came into his lane, and drove over him. Its just awful.

Errrr bad mom again. I forgot to bring the darn mascot back to preschool AGAIN! So now I have to run over to make sure I am there before the next kids mom

Thanks everyone for the info, it helps to know others deal with this stuff.

Fraggle, sorry about your friend's brother,

Was coffee creamer under there too?

Frags, so sorry about the motorcycle accident. Don't know what else to say. There are no words.

MNFootball -- can't focus without your coffee, huh?

Queenie -- forget how to swallow? LOL @ your story! I often go to swallow (my own spit, not while I'm eating or anything), and I'll suck it down my windpipe instead. I'll be standing there, choking, not breathing, for no other reason than swallowing has become too complicated. Yall ever done that?

Twinmom -- you broke the mower!! Now you don't have to be a winner, you can just chill here with us. Or burn. Roast, even. Whatever they do to non-mormons.

Malibu -- glad you're back!!

I know I'm forgetting something. But since I stayed up with the loonies in the lounge til 12:30, only to get up at 5 am, I'm a little sleep deprived, and not functioning very well today.

I do this ALL the time...usually when I am reclining. I have to jerk myself upright and cough for about 10 minutes. I thought I was alone..

I was driving a van full of workers into town one day and did that. They all nearly died as I was in the drivers seat, and literally could not breathe, talk, nothing. I did manage to hit the brakes and stop the van until I could catch my breath again.

They all thought I was crazy when I said I just swallowed wrong. Made me think I was the only one that's ever done it!!

Hey Losers,
I see we have been bust
Denise sorry your son is going thru this. I hate bullies. The scout Master should kick them out of the troop.

Lunabkit I hope DD is better. I aslo would keep an eye on her. That is very scary to see your child go thru something like that.

Trisha I hope you day is better.
Faggle I am sorry for your loss.
Malibu welcome home. I am glad you enjoyed yourself.
HRH I have also done that. It hurts.
Sorry if I missed anyone. Here is lots of    for everyone

They way my yard was growing - there could have been 12 mormons in my yard - and I would have never known it!! :scared1:

And, you know you love us. We'll make sure you go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight. ;)
