When I was little...think 3 or 4...I wouldn't keep my seatbelt on in the car. And this was before the days of mandatory child booster seats and all that. My mom told us that if we did not keep our seatbelts on then the police would take her away.

Well that scared my sister onto the straight and narrow...she cried for days about it. Me...I didn't care one bit.

I was a horrible child.

:rotfl:
The other day I was driving w/ the boys & my MIL & the boys wanted me to stop in the middle of the road over a railroad crossing w/ a bunch of cars behind me. I told them I couldn't that I would get in trouble, and Mr I pee on the floor pipes in and says "that's ok, then Grandma can be our Mommy"
He loves his grandma!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAHD & JJ Little One's
:cheer2: :dance3:  party: :cake: :bday: party: :dancer:

Well if they like to garden, what about a gift card to a nursery around them? That way you are still doing flowers, but they can enjoy them a whole lot longer. This is what my cousins and aunts and uncles do for my grandma every year.

Heres a website where you can order some nice dahlias if they like those
http://www.dahlias.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=32

Oh, how I wish my "mom' and step-mom had such interests. They both are pretty much into Lifetime movies and on-line computer games (Pogo, etc.) (My dad sure knows how to pick them!:rotfl: ) Oh, how could I forget the casino. StepMom LOVES the casino, but is MORTIFIED if you acknowledge that. Whatever. Besides, I don't think the casinos offer gift cards...

I looked at the ice cream of the month club for my step-mom (who raised me and deserves more than the "real mom"), but $130 bucks for ice cream is out of my league.

Add my two in!!!!!:goodvibes I'd probably have to pay someone to take them!!!!:lmao:

Anybody else in? We could sell them all and maybe then we'd get a good price!

Thanks...I wish I could find something to give me get up and go to do all the pathetic things I have to do...:guilty:
Me too! We need Loser Cola!

Love it!!! I would order everything possible online if I could. I order so much stuff online that almost every afternoon when we pull into the driveway, DD asks, "Did the mailman buy me something today?" :lmao:

Shame on me. I don't know if I'm lazy, a shopoholic, or both. :sad2:
I'm right there with ya. I heard Land's End had free shipping so I went swimsuit shopping! I have 3or 4 coming to the house for me to try on. I'll take the rest back to Sears at the mall--other than the return trip I won't have to spend hardly any time in the mall:banana:

Besides, I don't think the casinos offer gift cards...
DOn't be so sure about that! Have you checked their favorite casino's website yet?
Also, check into Omaha Steaks. They are fairly expensive but totally worth it--we get them for our very-hard-to-please BIL every Christmas. Don't forget to look at a coupon code, too--there's always tons of them out there.

My mom doesn't cook when she is home, but with Dad gone, she doesn't get to go out as much, since her friends don't always like to go. I am planning on sending her some Schwan's food. It's not flowers but they have some easy to prepare foods that would be just right.

Fraggle--that shower curtain:scared: sounds scary!

Well, I survived the Commissary. Fortunately it wasn't payday so it was relatively empty. Good thing because I bought a ton of stuff (and I saved $37 in coupons:woohoo: ) I even got all the stuff put away already--because DH is home working he helped me unload the car. Now this means I'll have to cook dinner tonight since we have food again--crap.

Oooh! DMIL would LOVE that! Plus, she is footing the majority of the bill for the family cruise this year, so I don't mind spending a bit more for her. My "Mom" and Step-mom probably wouldn't like it as much, but I will check it out anyway, just in case! Thanks!

Sorry I just typed it like that (sounds like the old SNL skit, telegram, umm lobster gram) I was running out the door. I was going to suggest Omaha steaks too or how about QVC gift card. Resturant card, something from Harry and Davids

I was running out the door.

Those are great ideas! My folks have been known to let movie tickets/restaurant gift cards expire since they just don't seem to be motivated to go out (unless it's the casino or church--in that order!) I found a beer of the month club, so I am now set for Father's Day! :thumbsup2

I just found a digital picture keychain. Holds about 60 pics and I was thinking I could have them sent here, load the pics and then wrap them so they are ready to use. What do you all think? Winner gift or not??

Total winner gift, but we will let it slide because it's for MOM...you will have to make up for this at a later date..

Ice-cream of the month club?! I LIVE for ice cream. Whats the website for that, I totally need to check it out.

I like the keychain idea! Grandparents all love pictures, don't they? Go for it

My grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary is this Saturday. They are renewing their vows and then we are having a big ol' party. Any ideas for something nice to do for them?

Believe me, with the stuff I pulled as a kid, it probably isn't enough!

I second this! IF you can access them, get some old pics from their long life together (scan them into the computer) and add them as well. I'll bet they haven't looked at some of those pictures in years and they would be thrilled!

IF you had more time (and weren't such a LOSER) you could make them a slideshow w/music with the pics....blah, blah, blah...yeah, I wouldn't do that either.:rotfl:

 I meant that I would let the winner moment pass, but you would have to make up for being a winner with LOSER moments later...and report back here!! Your gift idea is wonderful..

Grandparents really do like pics, like Mkrop suggested.

My grandmothers most prized possession is this little teeny fake Christmas tree my cousin made for her.

It's filled with little picture frames, each picture different, and each person in the family is in at least one pic. She loves it.

So yeah, something with pics.

Or, you could do what I did one time. I did this "I remember when" thing once. Little pieces of paper, and each one had a different memory. Something simple like, "I remember Pop letting me put cheese in his coffee!" and "I loved it when you cooked biscuits, because you always gave me some dough to play with!" or "Remember when you had that kitten and asked me what to name it? I said 'bell' because the mark on her head looked like a bell. You said it looked like a star. So we decided to call her 'Bell Star'." Then you put all the papers in a jar, and my grandma could pull out one every day and she'd have something to smile about.

Hey guys. I know I've been MIA for awhile. I can't seem to focus on anything for very long.

We finally got the EEG scheduled for DS6. That test is tomorrow. We are already in prep mode. NO sugar or caffeine today or tomorrow until the test is done. I also have to make sure he has no more than 5 hours of sleep tonight. Woo friggin Hoo. I took him to the store to rent a couple of movies. I'm trying to make it this big cool exciting thing. He gets to stay up late! Instead of, oh crap... the doctor says you can't go to sleep. We'll see how that works out.

Of course, all of this means that we're lowering his seizure threshold. That's the point. They want to map his brain patterns when they are impaired to see if they can find where the problem is. I hope they learn something. I am petrified that he will have a seizure before we can get him to the doctor's office. I hope not.

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a good day. I see a couple of people are looking for gift suggestions. One thing I have enjoyed doing for my SIL and her husband. They have moved from town to town and I do a google search on their old home locations for gift baskets. Like, they used to live in Cincinnati. I googled that and wound up sending them a basket when they lived in Orlando that had Montgomery Inn BBQ sauce and Skyline Chili. They loved it. It's a thought if the people you are buying for used to call somewhere else "home"... or if you want to send them a taste of where you live now.

Ooh--those keychains are cool. I just told DH that would make a nice Mother's Day gift:rolleyes1 .
What about a digital picture frame for the GPs? THen when you want to update their pics you can email them (if they email) or send an sd card(they're cheap) with new pics. My mom loves hers.

Robin--we are making your 'fried' ravioli for dinner tonight. Wish me luck!

These both sound awesome. My grandma does Christmas up like you wouldn't believe, and that memory thing sounds nice too.

Um....well...see  I did one of these for Christmas 2 years ago. They LOVED it. My grandma cried the whole time. (good tears, good tears!) It took me MONTHS! My aunt is actually doing one for their party, using some of the one that I did awhile ago.

And the ice cream thing?! Im thinking of asking for it for my birthday! I couldn't think of anything else

Yea, I definitely think that im going to do a digital picture frame. My brother works for best buy, and gets an insane discount on them. Thanks for the ideas guys! Saved me a lot of thinkin' :yay:

I have been swimsuit shopping. And can I tell you that I hate it even online!! Grrrr! I need a swimsuit for Hawaii, I am leaving in 10 days.

For my grandparents anniversary we played their favorite music. My Grandpa loved Nat King Cole. Maybe you could burn a cd or two along with the pictures. I loved Shore's idea too. You could have that at the celbration and have everyone write something down and then give it to them afterward.

It sounds like you are in for quite an evening.. I don't know how I would keep myself awake, let alone your little guy..did he sleep in today? I am so sorry you have to go through all this, but it will be worth it all to find out about his seizures. Is his appointment early? Does it matter when he gets his 5 hours, like can you go to sleep at midnight as long as you get up at 5:00?..ugghhh... I don't even want to think about that...God Bless you both ...I will be thinking of you tonight!

Hey everyone on our way to baseball practice. Will catch up later.

Hey Losers,
How is everyone. I have a few pages to catch up on. Anything fun going on?
