Okay, so I missed the morning... again...

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Welcome Denise! Sounds like you have found your home.

Maybe we should re-title the thread to The Adventures of Oinky and Slobbermouth. Then again, maybe not.

I have to get a shower soon. DS6 is in his first school production. The Kindergarten classes are all putting on a show about the 5 senses. His class is singing a song all about smells. Should be interesting...

Thanks for the laugh:rotfl: , this is the funniest thing I have read on the Dis today, so on that note I am off to do something semiproductive too....

OMG, you are my hero!! CLEAR THREAD?!! That ain't cheating, that's LOSER BRILLIANCE!!! I even sew a little, never thought of it. And I always hand sewed my DS9's badges, they looked terrible. Then I bought this new thing they have for the pocket patches where it's a clear diamond shape for the 4 diamond shaped patches..the patches slide in and the whole thing dangles from the button. It looks REALLY weird, so I am back to sewing. But I am gonna try YOUR way...

We are bringing in fried chicken and a big cake for our B&G, everyone has to bring a side dish for about 15 people. I am bringing ambrosia, which I have never made but I remember it fondly from my childhood. It has coconut, my kids hate coconut, Idont' care...I LIKE coconut.

DS had one of those plastic badge thingies. It got brittle or something and broke in half. Now we are missing 2 patches and it's like going to get gold out of Ft. Knox to get replacements. The council here is crazy--we have to have 'Proof' that we need these patches! :confused3 We are talking Cub Scouts badges here, not college credits! I use Heat 'n Bond to iron the badges on and the clear thread on the CORNERS only--I said edges before and that's far too much work! They wash ok and he's yet to lose one that way.

OMG...Mdrob...you live in Papillion. How weird is that? I used to live in Papillion. Now granted this was in the way early 80's and I was a baby at the time...we moved to Virginia when I was 3. But I still love the Omaha area, we have family an hour away in Iowa. There are days I want to move back.

But then I smack myself and WAKE UP...I am a broke college kid who spends all her money on Disney trips. But what trips they are.

Really? That is amazing. I bet you even know how to say it! Every time I call Disney they never can figure out how to pronounce it!:lmao: We like it here. My DH was born in Omaha, moved to IA, then efter college he was in the AF. First assignment? Offutt! Join the AF to see the world--Ha! He tried and tried to get us sent overseas to Blegium or Germany or England or... and we got--Warner Robins, GA! So now we are back and he's no longer active duty--a reservist here--and we actually like it. It's a good place and the cost of living is pretty good, too.:thumbsup2

My dad is from upstate NY and my mom is from Shelby County IA. She went to nursing school in Omaha and they met at a party. My dad was...you guessed it...in the AF and stationed at Offutt. They got married and he got out and they moved to Indianapolis to go to school and get this...my dad went to OTS and you guessed it...back to Offutt. Then to the Pentagon and then to Germany and then to Maryland and then here to NM. And then dad retired and got stuck here in the land of wind and sand, the land that rain and decent entertainment forgot. Maybe that is why I am so lazy...there is nothing to do out here.

Welcome Denise from a fellow Husker, (not that I really know anything about football)

So here is the report of things on the list. DS3 went to preschool. DS5 went to Kindergym and is at school now. Went to the Evil Empire and got DS5 hat and gloves, baby wipes and a anniversary card for my Dad. I worked out:cool1: and had a meal Jared would be proud of. I have decided it's leftover night, if you don't want those fix yourself a sandwich. Just to stick it to pie lady, I went through the drive thru for DS3, and for the bank too. I also vacuumed the front room. Woo Hoo is it naptime yet? I swear this is the first time I have been out of the house for more than 20 minutes in about 3 weeks. I figure I am good for another 3 weeks.

Hopefully Slobbermouth is feeling better today.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling good Lara.

Tink, sorry the DD is sick too. :wizard: Here is some pixie dust so you don't get it.

Can't wait to hear the song about smells RV.popcorn::

GO BIG RED!!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! We are Anti-Huskers here! I find that everyone around seems to be one, though. Actually I could care less about football for the most part, but I do cheer for my former school Iowa and DH has his Iowa State (We have what people in Iowas call a mixed marriage!:rotfl: :rotfl2: ) Nope, I am not from IA, either. I, too was a product of the AF, although my dad retired when I was 3. We lived in MN and SD and I just ended up at UofI for college.

Well, It has been a couple hours since DS's recess was supposed to be done and he's made it through lunch so maybe I won't have to go get gim until after school!

OMG...you can't live in Nebraska and not like the Huskers. But since your two schools are Iowa schools I will let it slide since my mom is from Iowa.

In high school I wanted to go to the University of Iowa but in the end stayed in NM because UofI was too far away and too expensive when you don't get financial aid.

Yeah, I'm not from here so I'm not really a Husker. DH is from Chadron and Lincoln so he is one. He's not a freaky one though. His dad has tickets and offers them to us all the time. I told him last time, 'Just go with Aaron, don't waste your ticket on me.'

DS5 just got home from school. He had a good time. He even ate school lunch. DD7 saw him and gave him a big hug too.

My sister would die for Husker tickets. She used to attend UNL and had student season tickets. Boy they were expensive. When I attended NMSU students got into games for free. Then again we weren't Big 12 or even a very good team. Though NMSU is traveling to Lincoln to play the Huskers next season.

OMG, guess what was on TV last night....MR & MRS SMITH!!! Not kidding!!:rotfl:

OK, here's my update...I have accomplished................................(drumroll please)........................ONE PAIR of hemmed jeans...that's right..the whole doggone day, one pair..

Now I have to go get the kidlets..maybe when I check back in, I will have more to report.

Slobbermouth still has nothing to report..(good!)

I got some clothes folded, got the Velntine box coverd so DS10 can decorate, threw some valentine hearts taped to our windows so it can llok festive. Went thru some mail, and out the Target stuff form yesterday away.

I have no movitivation.

Yeah, I am not feeling very motivated today, either. I was so sure DS was going to go to the nurse that I didn't start anything but laundry. I am doing sheets and I have motivation to get those done: I'd rather remake with the dame sheets that fold sheets!:lmao: My DS10 does not allow hearts on his valentine box. I am lucky if he does a red box--he sometimes takes a red gift bag and puts his name on it!

I'm lucky I don't have to hem anything. I'd be wearing stuff too long or rolled up!

Glad to hear the dog is doing better. I hate when one of my two furry freaks gets sick. Long Sheltie hair + doggy runs=:scared:
:headache: :crazy2:

My Dh family is from NE Nebraska. DH was always a fan growing up. His dad had season tix for years and when he passed we got them. But it was sooo expensive! You have to pay a "donation" of several hundred (this was a few years ago when they were winning--don't know what it is now that they are no good:) ) and THEN you got to buy the tix! We sold them to friends for years since there were only 2 seats and it was too much hassle to find a babysitter for 8+ hours on a Saturday and then drive down to Lincoln. Finally just gave them up and haven't missed them. DH has become an anti-husker and I was never really a fan, but I admit is was fun to go to the games.

Hi! Checking in!

I had a sandwich for lunch and so far everything is staying where it's supposed to be.

We bleed blue in my household (Go Penn State!).

I have nothing funny to say today...any trouble going on out there?
