hey Lara how far ahead can I make those vanilla wafer pudding things and then I assume put in fridge until I deliver to school, thay have a fridge too so they would need them in there with the cool whip and stuff.

Me and hubby fought over who had to get up with DS this morning. He won. He's still laying in bed.

DS is on the bus now, so I should probably just go back to bed.

Or...I could get started on all the crap I have to do today. Every morning, I get up and think, TODAY IS THE DAY. Today's the day the kitchen will be sparkly clean. Today's the day I go through everyone's dressers and pull out the clothes that are too small/don't get worn. Today's the day I cook and bake.

Pfffft. But it feels like today is going to be the day I sit around DIS'ing and watching Judge Judy.

Here is the recipe from AllEars http://www.allearsnet.com/din/rec_ched.htm

It's not hard at all, it just takes some time..It was pretty good, in true loser fashion I didn't have celery, used chicken broth instead of chicken stock, used store brand white cheddar instead of the Canadian brand indicated in the recipe, and I had to substitue Budweiser for Moosehead Ale.:rotfl:

I have made this before , so I knew to leave the salt out this time. I can't stress this enough. the bacon is salty, the cheese is salty...leave it out and add to taste if you need it at the end. mine was perfectly salted without adding a bit.

Thanks! I'll be substituting Heiniken (what DH drinks... I hate beer) and whatever cheddar I have in the fridge.

And good tip on the salt. I absolutely hate when something is too salty. Ugh. You can always add it, but sucking that flavor back out is next to impossible (I don't care what the cooks say about adding a potato to "draw the salt out").

Oh yeah...forgot to post the easy way to do Rice Krispy treats...

Go to the grocery store, buy as many boxes as you need of premade rice krispy treats. When you get home take them out of the foil wrapper and arrange on a plate.

Instant homemade treats

I was actually going to add this, but you beat me to it. Oh, and after I unwrap them, I take a knife and cut them so that they aren't perfect rectangles.

My mom was the queen of Fake 'N Bake. She taught me well. ;)

Depends on how mushy you want the waffer....if you have it in there more than a couple of hours it gets soggy...of course, that could be the effect you're going for :rolleyes1 I never like mine too too crispy.

This is the one part of your first post on this thread that sticks out in my mind every time!! And then the amateur psychologist came in and analized you all over the place!!remember that?:rotfl:

Like the morning before:confused3 Is that too soon?

I am guessing they want me to do this with DS5 and they day before I go to DS10's school and have K registration and then he goes to school in the afternoon. He also gets very tired in the afternoons and evenings, so if I really want him to "participate" I may ask my mom to do this or the mini muffins with him on Tues AM while I am at school.

I mean I can just do it after but I think the point is for him and me (another of those "family projects")or him and Mommom to do this.

another easy(lazy) suggestion for the kiddies...how about mini yogurt cups or snack pack puddings? All you have to do is open them!! I guess you could garnish if you wanted to make them "your own"..a sprig of mint, maybe?:rotfl:

Can't he carry the bag or is that not participatory enough :confused3

OK, I have an idea...flip them over and layer them differently....banana slice at the bottom, then pudding, then cool whip, then have him stick the waffers on the top at the last minute. Also, I have no name for this snack, maybe he can name them? If you get character cups...maybe the can be "Mickey's Magic Mush" or something funny.

I see a creavtivity coming out in you:lmao:

Well, she was. Need to bring a dish to a picnic? Buy potato salad, dump it in a bowl, sprinkle paprika on top, and cover with plastic wrap. Viola'... "homemade" potato salad.

She gave me tons of those ideas. :thumbsup2

:sad2: About to start my WINNER day I talked about yesterday (tackling the terrible twosomes rooms). Gotta take them to daycare in a few minutes & then run to the grocery store for a few things (much easier with out the kids), then come back and enter DD's room :scared1:
Atleast I will pick up some cream cheese sushi rolls for me for lunch. Maybe that will give me the insentive to tackle the project :rolleyes2 who am I kidding I'll be lucky if I get thru half of her stuff.

Hiya, losers. :teeth:

I've been trying to get my house company clean (I know, I know... not loser-like behavior) because my FIL will be here tomorrow to stay with us for 10 days. :faint:

I hate cleaning. I decided to do the 15-minute timer thing, but then I realized that I broke my timer. We won't discuss how that happened. I throw things.

Yeah, that was a hoot. I'm really taking all her good advice to heart. NOT!:lmao:

I finished the books in DD's class this morning & just ate a little breakfast. I need to throw a load of laundry in & kick a path thru the family room. I'm debating drawing the rest of the ocean life on the bathroom walls or working out in the yard. Decisions, decisions.
I have to order DS's birthday cake & get some balloons to have here when he gets home from school. We're going to Red Lobster for his b-day dinner tonite. Yum! He'll probably get the ultimate feast. The boy loves the lobster tails!

I need to clean both kids rooms too. I've got less than 2 weeks to get everything done before the family descends on us for a whole week. Then I'll have to clean everything again after they leave. Oh joy.

I also need to remember to take the crate of M&M's out of the back of my car so they don't melt. My luck I'll be stuck w/a big blob of melted chocolate & have to pay $52 for it. :headache: Gotta love fundraisers! I also have cookie dough & sports team cups if anybody's interested. ;) I shoulda just opted out. What was I thinking?!?!?!?!
