We leave a cold, damp N.C. and head by car for a cold, damp Savannah, Ga. for a quick overnight visit. Got a great deal on the internet for a room in the historic district and check in about 10:30 am and head out for some shopping and sight seeing. We walk through all the shops on River St. before deciding to pay for a several hour tour where we can get on and off the tram for the day. It's really fun and informative and each of the kids were able to answer a question and get a large coin called a "Vacation Decision Maker" that you can flip. It will come in handy in the days to come. We have a wonderful dinner in a nice restaurant on the river front and our water is in goblets. My 11 yr. old DS remarks that this looks like a place you see on TV where they propose a toast. We immediately propose a toast with our water to a happy trip at WDW. After more sightseeing we head to our room because it's COLD and WET and we're tired of running around in it. I surprise them in our room with the goodie baskets that I've worked on for months. The kids and Auntie are thrilled. Thanks to Jane and the Pixies for helping me get items like autograph books, Epcot passports, GOH badges, etc...I was very proud. We arise Sunday morning to another cold, wet morning to begin the drive into Orlando. As we entered the Jacksonville area my cell phone rings and it's my husband telling me that it's snowing like crazy at home. It's 82º on the car thermometer. I can't wait to get there. We arrive ahead of schedule at 11:30 am and go to check in. Our room in the south garden wing is already ready and we unpack. The room is wonderful. Plenty of room, queen size beds and a fabulously huge bathroom. I'm excited with the little Mickey soaps, shampoo and lotion and hate to open them, but I do. We then head to the food court and are very pleasantly surprised with the selection and prices. The kids are happy with their refillable mugs and think they're a great souvinier. We take the monorail to MK and arrive by 1:00. I can't believe how much time is saved by being in a monorail hotel. It's great! As we walk in we see that the street is roped off for the parade. It seems like we've just come home again as we stop and watch. Most of the Christmas decorations are already up and it's a beautiful day. We do fast pass to Jungle Cruise and go to Pirates of the Caribbean and walk right in. Then Swiss Family Robinson's Tree House and back to Jungle Cruise where we walk right on! Fast Pass is the greatest thing Disney ever did! We stroll the streets for awhile and try to get fast pass to Splash Mtn. but they're all gone for the day. BMTR is still closed and the kids are disappointed, but they get over it. We have a quick dinner at Pinocchio's Village Haus and all enjoy it. Then we go back to the hotel to rest up for the next day. Those beds sure are comfortable when you're as tired as we are! More details later. ºoº

That stopover in Savannah sounds wonderful. On our last trip, we drove straight through for 18 hours. I'll never do that again.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
