We woke up to torrential rain this morning ! luckily i had planned a rest day or a catch up on anything we had missed so it wasn't going to affect us too much
After doing a bit of packing and waiting to see if it was going to stop raining we decided to get in the car and drive to Downtown Disney (i had an idea that we could go to the cinema) we parked right near the cinema and the virgin store.
We browsed the shops a bit and got some gifts and went into goofy's candy co to get some sweets for the cinema (we had decided to see Ratatuoille) and then we went into earl of sandwich for lunch
After lunch the rain stopped and the sun started to come through so we quickly ditched the cinema idea and decided to use our free magic kingdom pass and go on a few rides.....thats what we came all this way for after all. we also managed to see the parade after grabbing a great spot at the start
We took the car back to pop before heading back on the bus to the polynesian resort for our ADR at kona cafe
we had never been to Kona before but we would certainly go again...we had a lovely meal
we both had Lump Crab Cakes - pan-seared lump crab cakes with Asian tartar and pineapple relish to start
I had Beef Teriyaki - 10 ounce sirloin strip, grilled with pineapple teriyaki sauce, mashed Yukon gold potatoes, and stir-fried broccoli florets
and DH had Char Crusted Filet Mignon - mashed yukon gold potatoes, asparagus and a 5-spice mushroom sauce
the kids had burgers and hot dogs again
I still havn't worked out why I let them talk me into it but I had the Kiddie Kone for dessert because the kids wanted to try it !! they ate most of it as well !!
Dh who is never one to share a pud had Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tart - chocolate tart shell with chunks of macadamia nut and chocolate served with vanilla ice cream and caramel rum sauce
I was merrily taking pictures of our desserts when the lady at the next table was taking pics of her food as well ! I cheekily asked if she was copying me and she turned out to be a dis member as well
goodness knows what the other diners thought tho
Tomorrow: Magic Kingdom, a Hinckley meet
and chef mickey's
