The Little Mermaid Magazine

In 1992 possibly to promote the cartoon series along with the movie Welsh Publishing debuted The Little Mermaid Magazine. The magazine featured activities a welcome letter from a various The Little Mermaid character telling fans what the month's issue was gonna be about all new The Little Mermaid stories celebrity interviews with Samuel Wright Christopher Daniel Barnes and Jodi Benson a different Ariel poster every month and facts about sea animals and the ocean. Although a hit with children The Little Mermaid Magazine ceased publishing in 1993/94. Did anyone ever read this magazine as a child?

In all honesty, I have never heard about such a mag before.

Yes! I used to have a subscription to this as a kid and collected them (I’m U.K. based so maybe they didn’t have them elsewhere idk?) I think I still have them all and the binders for them somewhere in a box at my grandad’s house but yes, you're right. They had little puzzles like word searches, spot the difference and crosswords etc in them and they’d feature on a different sea creature each issue. I was just thinking about these the other day actually so it’s wild to see someone bring them up on here. I just remember them being very cute and having a different picture of Ariel and her sidekicks on the cover each issue.

I collect Disney magazines too Leia but I never had an issue of The Little Mermaid Magazine but I have Disney Princess magazines and Tangled The Series magazines and Frozen magazines too. Welsh Publishing also did a lone issue of Beauty And The Beast magazine and an Aladdin magazine
