Just to be fair, the DISer could have left not because he or she was losing but because they had something important to tend to, like lunch burning or something. :thumbsup2

Hmmm.... I'm not really sure I agree with this little "experiment" of yours. Are you trying to give DIS'ers a bad name? "PM me and I'll give you their title and room name?" Just because this person booted you? What REALLY is the point of this thread of yours??

I guess I will find my name being pm'ed to people at some point if this is what you are basing your criteria on.

1) I have a very fast boot finger at certain times when in my rooms, and I don't feel bad about it at all :)

2) I boot people out of my pirate games ALL THE TIME because I cannot do 4 on 4 or sometimes even 3 on 3. Also, if I'm playing an organized friendly game, you're going to get the boot regardless of whether you are a DIS'er or not.

3) I decline trade requests pretty much all the time unless it's someone I have specifically arranged a trade with ahead of time. I don't care if you're a guest or wearing a gazillion infernos, you will get that little "rude" pop-up telling you that I declined your request (and I'll probably put you on ignore too ;) ).

well... I was actually going to post my story on a different post, I actually am not giving DISers bad names, But maybe unveiling the truth, Everyone is titled to their own opinions,

With the trading incident, I moved and accidently was in front of someone and was booted for no reason at all.

I have a understanding of you booting people out of a game for friends and DISers to a extent when I start games I always try to include everyone in with the fun.

and for trading I randomly asked to trade someone once then I decided well I should probably ask but I asked properly and was ignored... but if I was a guest and had sparrow, stitch, green flips etc.... There probably would have been no hesitating to trade me... the fact is that all guest are considered poor or new or both by alot of people. The purpose of this test was to test and revel the truth when I was a guest nobody traded me and when I was not a guest and I had no rare at all nobody still traded me when I had Inferno on I had a 98% increase of trades then with my character with nothing at all...

I think players and DISers have the right to know.

I think the point Titanic is trying to make is that some VMKer's single out others because they are either rich or poor. By 'single out', I mean they treat them differently. I think he is just trying to encourage us to respect ALL players. Please don't take this the wrong way, I believe his 'experiment' was for good intentions only: to teach others to treat everyone fair.

I personally think it's wonderful that some of you guys already help out the new players. It's very encouraging, so keep up the great work! =) :thumbsup2

I remember when Cinnamon and I were Guests, we allways went places together, sometimes we would go with Awesome, but that was pretty rare.
I remember when we went to the emporium and someone walked up to Cinnamon and said "Eww, your ugly!" and started saying really rude things to her and she had never met him before!, after that Cinnamon didn't go on VMK as much as she used to about a week later I wasn't a guest anymore she was.. I had got my first crown, and after that I started going to trade rooms, most of the time Cinnamon got booted for being a guest and everyone (except for me) ignored her, and later I met some more friends, and one day I was shocked when one of them asked me "Why are you with a Guest?", After that I let Cinnamon borrow all my clothes, and when something came out and she didn't have enough credits I would buy it for her. Yes It's sad Guests are treated badly.. Also when I wasn't on VMK because I was sick Cinnamon asked everyone where she could buy a crown at, so she could give it to me (that was before I got one) and of course everyone Ignored her :(.. So everyone watch how you treat Guests ok :)

I can understand doing an experiment to see how a "guest" is treated in VMK.

HOWEVER, this experiment seems to be going awry - it is now more like a "let me spy on DIS'ers while incognito and run back here and report their bad behavior".

THAT'S what I have an issue with.

I don't believe Titanic has a hidden agenda; I remember being a guest and a new player (and many people still think I'm new because I don't have anything that is considered "rare") and to tell the truth, it is a miserable life much of the time! I remember when I didn't have any fansite to help me, and when I would try to trade for "rare" I would put up stuff- I had no idea of values of items in VMK!- and would be summarily laughed out of the trade box. I started with the old Pirates game and after awhile I only played with the computer because people would ask me how I ever got to Level 2 I was so bad. Nobody ever asked to be my friend, especially at first because I didn't wear a "female figure" shirt. People do discriminate! Sure some of us do all we can to help guests and newbies, but others frequently persecute the "poor". As for trades, back when we couldn't turn off trades, sure I would deny trade requests, but only after I asked how I could help the requester, then said, "sorry not for trade" or "no thanks, but good luck". And I have observed Titanic in-game, and no matter how long he has to wait, he never boots anyone from a Pirates game. Even if we have a group going, he waits until all sides are even before starting. One time we waited 10 minutes.

If you want to see for yourselves how guests are treated, do what Titanic did. Create a new character, don't go seeking out your main character's friends, act like you've just stepped your virtual foot into VMK, and watch how things unfold. I can almost guarantee you will have similar, if not identical, results. Just as with any type of discrimination, it's painful to think of, but it needs to be brought out in the open, and that's just what Titanic is trying to do. I'm sure he has only good intentions, trying to show us the true colors of many VMK'ers. It's easy enough to be nice and friendly to rich people and CL's, but guests and the poor often get overlooked. I applaude IliketheTitanic; he has shown in the past that he is only looking out for others, at times to the detriment of himself. A round of high-fives to Titanic and all who try to make guest's lives, and the lives of all us other avatars, better and more pleasant! :)

Thanks Narnia I appreciate this greatly :grouphug:

Once again, I don't think this is the case. He is not conducting a smear campaign that I can see, he just happens to note that it's a DISer that treats him this way! I guess we hold DISers to a higher standard, so it seems to him to be unusual to be treated so by DISers. If he really wanted to smear someone on here, wouldn't you think he'd name names? Even if he was "spying" on DISers, our behavior, to ANYONE, should be above reproach. We shouldn't act one way to DISers and our friends and another way to people we don't know. Common courtesy should be extended to everyone, even guests. Titanic, I'm going to recommend that you not even mention DISer's poor behavior anymore. DISers aren't perfect, but I guess we like to go on thinking they are. :thumbsup2

I completely agree.

i always love when guest play pirates its really funny because they tend to be really good and have a lot of credits... i dont know why, but they help me win lol

I still don't get this... every time I read this thread, in hoping one day I will understand it, I just get more confused. Yes you tried an "Experiment" as life as a guest, and you proved that people are mean.. but that's life. There are many people out there in the real world, I should say, that scam the people who don't know what they are doing, or just don't know. Now in days, I don't trust guests at all.

Probably for every 20 guests, one person is an actual guest, the rest are just mules. Seriously how do you really know who is a guest and who is just some ones mule? I know of some times when a guest would walk into to a room full of people (when i was the only leader in the room) and ask only me to trade or ask out loud to only me "do you have any free?" and leave. I have given guests some pins and such, only if they actually sat and talked to me.

Ok so a DISer left a pirate game, ever wonder that they may have dced? I dced all the time, or I start playing a game and told to go do something (I usually try to finish the game first). A lot of people do have problems with playing games on vmk. I dc a lot, because a lot internet problems (i hate verizon). The only thing I would be most suspicious about is, if you saw them in the game lobby after you finished the game. But still they could have been kicked from the game or DCed and quickly got on vmk.

I agree with Pink on this one, this experiment is very flawed. It just appeared that this is just an attempt to spy on people and show them what they did wrong and try to catch the people considered respectable when they are bad. Some people do have really bad days, and go on vmk for an attempt to see if it will brighten it, usually never happens (I should know, haha). I am sorry if this is harsh. You can black list me say and I am a bad leader. I am just saying the truth and how I feel about it.

that is not the case at all. I could write a book on why this experiment is flawed and why what is perceived by him is taken the way it is

well... I was actually going to post my story on a different post, I actually am not giving DISers bad names, But maybe unveiling the truth, Everyone is titled to their own opinions,

You know I totally disagree with this whole experiment and think that there are a variety or reasons why you are getting the results you are.

I think your time would better be spent having fun in the game or posting positive things, not sure what you feel is accomplished by your experiment.

You do not know why the person left the Pirates game, the Kraken does not always get you when you DC.

What you consider rude or bad treatment as Pink pointed out is may not have been. You have no way of knowing what was going on or what truly happened.

These negative threads NEED to Stop and I know some will disagree with this but this thread is now closed.
