I am in the middle of reading "Wrestling Reality: The Life and Mind of Chris Kanyon Wrestling's Gay Superstar " by Chris Kanyon and Ryan Clark. Has anyone else read or currently reading this book?

This is quite possibly the most powerful personal story I have ever read.

I am a straight male and when I was 13 I abandoned my best friend who came out, a move that bothers me even 18 years later. When I was 17, I apologized to him for my actions and he accepted and I am friends with him to this day. But reading this book about Chris Kanyon's struggles made me realize just how difficult my friend probably had it and how my reactions even at 13 made things worse for him, even my apology could never erase that.

I would highly recommended reading this book even if you aren't a wrestling fan this is an amazingly powerful story, put it this way I was crying after only reading the first 2 pages.

Hey bro, I registered on this site just to talk to you. I get google alerts for anything related to Kanyon, when I saw your review I just wanted to drop you a line. My name is Robert McLearren... if you look at the acknowledgements at the back of the book, you'll see me there. Chris was a really close friend of mine and the book was extremely hard to finish after he died. Anyway... I just wanted to say that I really appreciate what you wrote. I forwarded it over to Ryan as well, and I agree with his response:

Oh wow.

Chris would love that so much.

Thanks for sharing.

Wow thank you, I truly cannot say enough how powerful his story is. Thank you for being involved in the process of bringing his story to us all. If you see this response could you please pass along a thank you to Ryan Clark as well.

I have been a wrestling fan since the age of 5 (1985) and I was always a fan of the in ring talent that was Chris Kanyon, but after reading this book I am a fan of him as the person he is, the struggles he endured, the adversity he faced and the courage he showed.

Kanyon asked the question "Who Betta?" I think Chris answered his own question by sharing his life story... nobody
