Faye is coming!!!!!
We watched TV and saw that Hurricane Faye was meant to hit WDW today so we thought we might as well get there early and make the most of the day. We went to MK and got there at 8.40am, it was already open which surprised us, but we were pleased. We were already wearing our ponchos and we went straight to Buzz. Mum FP’d it and we walked straight on, we then rode it 2 more times and I scored 208,900
Our wrists were then hurting so we rode Pooh and Peter Pan, again no queues at all.
We knew Faye was coming but WDW had reassured us that it would be closing early for our safety if need be so we thought we’d make an early start and were pleasantly surprised to see MK already open. There was literally no one there. As I got the Buzz FP’s the CM told me they wouldn’t be needed today as the parks would be empty but I got them anyway. As we walked to Frontierland there was literally no one in front of us, how fantastic. Yes we may have been wearing our ponchos but it was only a light rain and to have MK almost to ourselves was well worth it! When we went on Splash we kept our ponchos on and it was so funny as we went down the first big dip David’s poncho blew up and completely covered his face
Oh and it was great to be in our own log as we sing along
We went to Ellie’s favourite Splash and rode that twice then BTMR twice too, this storm is great!!!! We then caught the train to Toon Town and we went to Mickey and Minnies houses, we had them almost to ourselves and then we saw them!
We then went and queued for the Princesses and still hardly no wait. We were first in the line and when it was our turn Cinderella was waiting and she took Ellie and walked in with her, Ellie was so thrilled!
We also saw Belle and Aurora. Dad was asked by Aurora to be her Prince for some photos, it was so funny she made him put his arm like a Prince does
We were all getting hungry so went to Mrs Potts for ice cream sundaes. Mum, Dad and Ellie all got the Fudge Brownie sundae and I got ice cream with toffee sauce, they were all lovely and huge. We then went and rode Buzz again and went to the Laugh Floor. I love this it’s funny and there are lots of jokes. We never get chosen though even though we sit near a lamp like Mum said to!
The brownie sundaes were ridiculous I couldn’t even eat half of mine, we really should have shared, they were delicious and filling though
We then rode TTA and as we were riding saw the 3pm parade but it was only 12.10pm
We then rode Buzz 2 more times and Dad scored 244,000. We then went to Philarmagic which is one of Mum’s favourites.
Yes they held the parade at 12pm today they must have been very worried about Faye!
Look at those clouds!!!!
We decided we’d done everything we wanted at MK so we gave away some FP’s and on the way out Ellie pin traded with 2 DT members. We jumped onto the monorail and were lucky enough to get in the front. The driver was really good and gave us some licence cards.
The monorail driver was fantastic, he chatted with us and told us information which was cool, he also gave us all a licence before we left, our best monorail ride so far!
When we got to Epcot it was really raining and all FP’s were gone, very different to MK. We went to Electric Umbrella for lunch and it was crowded. So crowded that we had to find a table outside which kept dripping rain on us. We had a double cheeseburger and chicken strips to share.
We went to ride Maelstrom but the queue was 20 minutes so we FP’d it
So we walked to the UK in search of characters, we got in line to see Pooh and friends but they went on a break so we walked all the way back to Norway to use our FP’s. We all think Maelstrom is rubbish though and we did the trick of running straight through and missing the film! We then went to the land and Soarin was a 95 min wait
Yes everyone we had to FP Maelstrom
We walked to Coral Reef at 5pm for our 5.30 ADR, it was really hammering it down now
We were sat pretty quickly one row up from the tank so we had a good view. Ellie and I had the steak, which was good, Mum had the pork chop and Dad had the seafood linguine followed by 3 key lime tarts and Dad had the Baileys mousse. We saw the turtle swim by lots of times and lots of divers too.
The food at CR was nice, not fantastic but nice, we love going here for the view though, it’s so calming and peaceful. Our waiter was very good too, we really found the waiters much better this trip, maybe because we’re paying their tip OOP?!?!?
After our meal we headed over to the bus bay we were on the bus at 7pm and went straight to the room for hot showers and Mum went and got hot chocolates!
The rain at the bus stop was horrendous, it was literally coming in horizontally so the people (about 2 families) had formed the queue one row back so as not to get soaked so we just joined in. Well we waited ages for a bus and more and more people arrived and eventually didn’t know where to queue. When the bus arrived all hell let loose, people trying to get on from all directions and to make it worse a very handicapped girl in a wheelchair also wanted to get on and people were jumping on the bus before her
It was pandemonium and a bit scary as nasty words were being thrown around, thankfully a second bus was sent and we managed to get on that one as the first was still loading the wheelchair. Magical place everyone, magical place
Once we were back at POR all we wanted was hot showers and hot chocolate and some TV, so much for Florida in August
