The Last Trip: An (Eastern) Fantasy Food Adventure-Bonus Feature, Pam & Her Mom Pt 2 Sept 17 the end

“Now will you get me that hot dog, and see if they have any dessert up there?”

DH may have been on my last nerve if he asked this. You are a saint for following through and getting the hot dog and cookies.

At Meridian, we took a seat outside and I ordered my normal cocktail while she had a diet Coke.

Both of you looking lovely.

I went with the French and Fran went with the American.

I think I am too picky to eat from this menu.

My first dish was Asparagus Soup,

I like asparagus - not sure how I would feel about asparagus soup. hmmm.

These little Gnocchi were very tasty!

Now, I do love a good gnocchi.

By the time that dessert arrived I had found a little bit more room.

Well of course....there is always room for dessert.

My dessert was a lemon flavored sort of thing. It looked like a lemon when it arrived, and when you cracked it open, it had a very interesting filling.

At first look, I would have been soooo excited. I had a wonderful lemon sorbet in Miami served in a lemon....but, the filling in your photo does look interesting. Can you share more on what it tasted like/consistency?

I called her on the wave phone to let her know that they had a Philly Chesesteak special that day so she asked for one of those.

Danger Will Robinson! Danger! No way you're getting a real Philly cheesesteak!

Checked the photo, and...yep. :sad2:

She loves selling stuff that we get for free. Hasn’t happened so far….

:rotfl2: Well, it's a nice plan.

Did I already show you pictures of Remy? If I did, look again.

Yes, ma'am.

This is the burst of Tomato that they serve as an Amuse Bouche. I had forgotten that they serve this. It is a tiny little ball, but as soon as you bite into it your mouth explodes with a burst of flavor.

Aw, it's like a cute tiny little tomato hand grenade.

They served us bread and butter, with, I want to say, pink Himalayan salt. But don't quote me.

Oops. I guess I just quoted you there. Sorry.

So evidently the fois gras is made into that creamy stuff, and then they put macadamia nuts in it. I imagine at least one of you are saying, “Blech!”

Admit it. You were imagining me, weren't you?

But it wasn’t bad at all. I actually liked it!

Hey, whatever floats your boat!

She got beef tenderloin and I was served lamb, but I was just too full to eat it. I was really regretting having eaten lunch at the point.

Oh man, that's painful. And there were probably still like 16 courses to go.

By the time that dessert arrived I had found a little bit more room.

:rotfl: Just like Julie. Somehow, there's always room for dessert, no matter what has come before.

My dessert was a lemon flavored sort of thing. It looked like a lemon when it arrived, and when you cracked it open, it had a very interesting filling.

That looks kinda fun!

Hm, I could have written your last update. :rotfl2:
Coming back from excursion and going in search of food, then picking up a lot of little things which still add up in the long run and sitting at dinner and not being able to enjoy fully as I had been full coming in. :rotfl:

Okay, back to comments:
That cheesesteak looks very different to what Tom had had on one of our cruises. :scratchin

Love that you had your cocktails outside - we never wander outside with our cocktails, but it is something to remember.
How funny that the Colette is now made with pineapple - it used to be dried apricots.

I for one am not a huge fan of the Fois Gras Siphon - too rich for me. I had a spoonful and was done with it.

The menu seems to have changed a bit but your food looks pretty good. Not sure we will be doing Remy on our next cruise. I have the dessert tasting booked, but it's the day we have Palo brunch and I am not sure I will be able to enjoy so many desserts in a row.

You may now go on as I am all caught up again. :rotfl2:Am I not saying that every week. It seems the weekends are the only time I can find enough time to be here - but then I had some serious planning to do for our summer trip. I will reveal soon. :beach:

Not without going through them!

Can't make yourself do it, huh?

Oh yes, I'm sure. Disney never gives you a negative answer.
\

::yes::

Think of any old movie where the moving scenery just doesn't look right.

Oh! Okay. Now I got it.

In our country insurance fraud is illegal. Not sure about Canada.

Just that one thing! Not the whole place!

I didn't mean the content, I was referring to the fact that you have mentioned sometimes you leave the "copy" at work or at home and you are in the opposite location. With Google documents as long as you are signed in under your Google sign in you can access the document. I'm "Fran" on my laptop so I share any documents I create with "me" so that I can edit them on my phone.

I've never used Google docs... but will very soon. We're introducing them at work for training slot times at some of our busier airports.

You and Mark! Sheesh! Yes it survived the crash just fine!

Well considering that most of the buildings in town are 2-3 stories maybe 4 tops, and those ships are 13 or more decks tall, yes they do!

13 decks? That thing will never float.

Yeah, I've realized that sitting on a beach is not my idea of a good time

Nor mine.

Ruby's and my first trip to Hawaii about 20 years ago.
I'd read that there was one beach that was considered one of the best in the world.
So we went to check it out.

We drove over. Walked onto it.... said "Yup. Nice beach."

And then left. We were there for under 5 minutes.
And that was enough.

I read that the price for the tour and the amount of rum that they gave you was not really in sync.

Ah.

Perhaps that's what the part about "going under duress" meant, that I shouldn't expect more than just that she would ride along. I didn't push it.

Smart girl.

No, we did stop, but just for me to get out and take some pictures.

Oh, okay.

OK, maybe I meant rave.....

I'd buy either one. Rage, rave... call it whatever you want!

Death. Destruction. Not much.

See???

Where do you come up with this sh..stuff? :confused3

From a dark and scary place.

The movie production companies use that tactic they have the "working production name" written in both directions on the edges of the sign, so one is always right side up and one is always upside down. There is an arrow in the middle so that they can turn the sign for the arrow to point in the correct direction, so whether it's a left turn or a right, the text on top is right side up.

Huh. Didn't know that.
How did you?

Huh. @pkondz goes with fried, you go with stewed. I'm going with broiled.

We're starting to sound like Forrest Gump and shrimp.

So we just got back from our Island tour. It probably went a little bit over the three hours,

That's not bad for the price. I think much longer would be too long, no?

(All the CMs were jealous of our wine!)

Fran sent me up to get her a Hot Dog.

Brave, considering her upset tummy earlier.

That looks good. I really like a good salad.

I called her on the wave phone

Can you tell me more about that? Everyone gets one? Or did you find one somewhere and use it to call the room?

I asked for another piece of cheesesteak and they said it would be 5 minutes

You know it's special when it takes forever to get it. :sad2:

She practically inhaled the food, and then said, “Now will you get me that hot dog, and see if they have any dessert up there?”

 Boy, she really was hungry!

I had read a sign that said you should never put ketchup on a hotdog.

I do.

So. pbbbtttt.

She loves selling stuff that we get for free. Hasn’t happened so far….

I just vegetated and watched “Planes: Fire and Rescue”

Haven't seen that one. Not sure if I even knew it existed.

Cute shot of you guys.

See down there where we loaded up the scooter. Our van could have been that Land Roveresque vehicle, we loaded up right there.

I do see. Not quite sure why you pointed it out.
Just for info? Or because it was far? Or?

Did I already show you pictures of Remy? If I did, look again.

 Okay.

Collette Cocktail

1/2 oz. Grey Goose VX
1/2 oz. Grand Marnier Paris Edition
4 oz. Taittinger La Française
3 Cassis Pearls
2 Dried Pineapple Cubes

I'd try that.

This is the burst of Tomato that they serve as an Amuse Bouche. I had forgotten that they serve this. It is a tiny little ball, but as soon as you bite into it your mouth explodes with a burst of flavor.

Yum!

They served us bread and butter, with, I want to say, pink Himalayan salt. But don't quote me.

Oh, no!!!!!!!! I just did!!! I highlighted the text and clicked "Quote"! Sorry!

So evidently the fois gras is made into that creamy stuff, and then they put macadamia nuts in it. I imagine at least one of you are saying, “Blech!” But it wasn’t bad at all. I actually liked it!

Sure! Why not?

The siphon is an indispensable accessory in the kitchen for making good mousses, various pastries and Chantilly, creamy creams or tasty verrines for aperitifs or appetizers .

You mean this?
316E54W6BEL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

And there they go again, pouring that sauce on the plate.

That's a nice touch, isn't it?

I took one bite, it was delicious, and I couldn't eat another bite, I was just too full.

Oh, man!

She got beef tenderloin and I was served lamb, but I was just too full to eat it. I was really regretting having eaten lunch at the point.

:sad2: Too bad!

By the time that dessert arrived I had found a little bit more room. My dessert was a lemon flavored sort of thing. It looked like a lemon when it arrived, and when you cracked it open, it had a very interesting filling. I probably would have been thrilled with it if I wasn’t so stuffed. I ate about half of this.

That looks amazing! I so want.

Fran's dessert was a Maple-Pumpkin Caramel Terrine, and after she finished mine off, she said hers was better. I would probably disagree.

I think I would, too.

We could take the cakes, but not the custards. And try as we would, we could not finish them.

Alison was glad she wore a dress an not pants as she feared that she would pop the pant's button, sending it caroming across the restaurant.

They sent us home with two long stem roses.

Nice touch.

We met our steward in the hall and he ran to get us a vase.

No way! Wow! That's service!

We had a cute little bullfrog as our towel animal.

I like that!

I think I was in bed with a food coma at 9PM.

 Good night!

Omg, Remy looks sooo good. I love eating there!!! Hopefully its on the agenda or next August or I'm ditching you guys and going by myself!

Jill in CO

Why would you even sail on the Fantasy and not go to Remy??? Isn't that the point of this ship? I'm considering not getting off the ship in Tortola (unless we come up with something fun to do), but for sure I'm doing like I did for our dinner at V&A's last fall. No food after 1 or 2PM!

Not sure what day we would do it but the first two days would be brunch at Palo and Remy. So dinner at either place would have to wait until days 3&4, otherwise I wouldn't be hungry at dinner.

Very nice island photos during your tour.

I will never get tired of seeing your food porn on the DCL and Remy's meal look amazing.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy the puctures, because I intend to keep eating at places like this!

Oh my that meal! I am sorry that you weren't able to eat everything, but it sounds like you enjoyed everything you did have.

It just means that I need to go back for a redo!

I'm with the above poster I LOVE your food porn entries :thumbsup2 It's too bad you ended up being full from lunch to fully enjoy Remy though

So glad everyone is enjoying the food porn! This entire trip practically seems to be full of it.

Remy looks so good. The Fois Gras Siphon looks really good but with the addition of the nuts I wouldn't be able to eat it as I am allergic to nuts.

I'm sure that they would make it without the nuts for you!

Reading your Remy experience when I'm barely able to eat much and I'm not allowed to drink was not a smart choice on my part.

That is unfortunate. I hope you are healing, and are back in the swing of things soon!

I feel bad you were so full during your meal and couldn't experience it all! Remy is such an amazing restaurant. They are so creative with their options and it seems like they continue to innovate their options so that it doesn't get stale (like V&A got for a while). I'm glad you got to enjoy what you could and I'm glad Fran enjoyed as well! That lemon dessert is so clever!

I learned my lesson! I have another special dinner Friday, I'll eat before I get my hair done at 1PM and then nothing until dinner! The lemon was so creative! I love lemon and so wish I'd been hungrier.

Oh No!! What a nightmare!! To be at Remy and not be hungry enough!! I have to say that I found the portion sizes to be quite good for the menu, meaning that I was able to eat everything without too much of an issue. Yes, the candy at the end was an issue. But we took those with us. Michael and I are still cruised out. But I think Remy is the one thing that would get us back onto the ship sooner than later. It is so amazing!!

Yes it was all perfect except for the salad, panini, slice of pizza, and a cookie. I can't imagine being cruised out!

Remy looks amazing! Too bad you were too full to finish it all.

I was thoroughly disappointed.

Sacrebleu! Fancy not being hungry there. That's a shame.

WOW! Such amazing food and presentation at Remy's

Yes, everything was amazing but my appetite!

Uh oh... I'm sorry it didn't work out better. I know you're a foody so it is a shame that you just weren't feeling it for such a nice meal.

It was a shame. I know better for next time.

No cheese to go?

Sadly they don't allow take out from any of the sit down restaurants on the ship.

That's some resourcefulness.

Well those long stemmed roses looked pretty silly in that tiny vase. Plus gravity wasn't helping.

I can imagine... hopefully you got a good night's sleep.

Sort of...you'll see in the next update...

DH may have been on my last nerve if he asked this. You are a saint for following through and getting the hot dog and cookies.

Well your DH could probably also walk up and get it for himself, I tend coddle her a bit since she's not able to do a lot for herself. It also helps to cut down on the cussing and fowl language when she does try to do things herself.

Both of you looking lovely.

Thank you

I think I am too picky to eat from this menu.

That is definitely a thing. It not for everyone. Some people do prefer the carry out locations.

I like asparagus - not sure how I would feel about asparagus soup. hmmm.

Everything I've had at Remy, has been fantastic. They know how to put flavors together.

Now, I do love a good gnocchi.

I haven't had much Gnocchi but this was really tasty!

Well of course....there is always room for dessert.

I'm not a huge dessert person, although I do enjoy a good one, but seriously sometimes I'd just rathe have more meat!

At first look, I would have been soooo excited. I had a wonderful lemon sorbet in Miami served in a lemon....but, the filling in your photo does look interesting. Can you share more on what it tasted like/consistency?

There were a number of textures going on. It was a while ago so I don't remember really clearly (part of why I took the picture of it broken open). There was a custardy component, but also a thin lemon sauce, I don't remember if there was a crunchy part inside or just the shell was crunchy.

Danger Will Robinson! Danger! No way you're getting a real Philly cheesesteak!

Checked the photo, and...yep. :sad2:

Since I've never had one, I don't know the difference. :confused3

:rotfl2: Well, it's a nice plan.

:thumbsup2 :lmao:

Aw, it's like a cute tiny little tomato hand grenade.

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

Oops. I guess I just quoted you there. Sorry.

:sad2:

Admit it. You were imagining me, weren't you?

Yes. Yes I was.

Hey, whatever floats your boat!

At least you have an open mind, as long as you're not eating it!

Oh man, that's painful. And there were probably still like 16 courses to go.

Sure felt like it.

:rotfl: Just like Julie. Somehow, there's always room for dessert, no matter what has come before.

Especially if you give it enough time.

That looks kinda fun!

It was! And I don't think I could have eaten chocolate or some kind of Souffle, but lemon was just perfect!

Hm, I could have written your last update. :rotfl2:
Coming back from excursion and going in search of food, then picking up a lot of little things which still add up in the long run and sitting at dinner and not being able to enjoy fully as I had been full coming in. :rotfl:

Yeah, it's a major bummer when that happens. I have a big dinner on Friday and I will not be eating anything after I go to my 1PM hairstyling appointment. I want to be starving when the time comes.

Okay, back to comments:
That cheesesteak looks very different to what Tom had had on one of our cruises. :scratchin

It didn't look like any cheesesteak that I've ever had before, but I've also never had one from Philly.

Love that you had your cocktails outside - we never wander outside with our cocktails, but it is something to remember.
How funny that the Colette is now made with pineapple - it used to be dried apricots.

We specifically went outside to sit and the waiter helped us out there. The other side is a smoking section so we avoided that. I don't know what they put in the Colette, it may have even been dried cranberries. I found that recipe on a Disney blog because I couldn't remember what they put in it.

I for one am not a huge fan of the Fois Gras Siphon - too rich for me. I had a spoonful and was done with it.

If I were to give up anything early on in the meal, that would have been the thing. I'm just going to need to remember not to eat after 2PM next time. And I am definitely going again on our next cruise.

The menu seems to have changed a bit but your food looks pretty good. Not sure we will be doing Remy on our next cruise. I have the dessert tasting booked, but it's the day we have Palo brunch and I am not sure I will be able to enjoy so many desserts in a row.

I like to kick off the cruise with Palo Brunch and the dessert is only the last sea day. Fran and I might have to discuss this one, cause our opinions on the dessert may vary.

You may now go on as I am all caught up again. :rotfl2:Am I not saying that every week. It seems the weekends are the only time I can find enough time to be here - but then I had some serious planning to do for our summer trip. I will reveal soon. :beach:

Thank you for your blessing! :lmao: I can't wait to hear about your summer plans. We are still working to get out of the apartment to go on the EBPC!

Can't make yourself do it, huh?

I hate to be a broken record, but we still need to get our stuff out of the old house! I don't have time for that stuff!

Just that one thing! Not the whole place!

I've already forgotten what we were talking about. Plus too lazy to go back and look it up!

I've never used Google docs... but will very soon. We're introducing them at work for training slot times at some of our busier airports.

It's pretty neat. It doesn't have as many of the cool features I like in MS Word, but for simple TRs and journaling it works just fine.

13 decks? That thing will never float.

And they said nothing could sink the Titanic.

Nor mine.

Ruby's and my first trip to Hawaii about 20 years ago.

I loved the beach as a kid. As an adult I mostly looked at it from restaurants and bars. In Dec of 2015, I went out into the ocean at Castaway Cay. I decided that I like it better from the bar.

Huh. Didn't know that.
How did you?

Long Beach can be Miami, a quiet street in a Midwestern suburb, an Art Deco era city, all kinds of stuff. There are film crews working here all the time. In fact they have filmed on my street at least five times in the three years we've lived here. You see the signs all around town directing the actors, extras, prop managers and Kraft Food Services, etc. to the location of filming. They never say "CSI: Miami" on their signs or everyone and their brother would be barging in on the set. So they give it some kind of codename. But yes, a lot of CSI Miami was filmed here. The recently cancelled show Rosewood had a 10 second shot filmed at a house nearby and they were there all day for less than 30 seconds of filming. I recognized the scene when the episode aired.

We're starting to sound like Forrest Gump and shrimp.

Never saw the entire movie, must do it someday.

That's not bad for the price. I think much longer would be too long, no?

Yeah, any longer and I would have gotten ancy.

Brave, considering her upset tummy earlier.

She thinks the strangest things soothe her tummy. Doesn't listen to medical advice or reason.

That looks good. I really like a good salad.

I'm assuming they meant you to make a salad with the burger toppings, otherwise the dressing wouldn't have been out there. it hit the spot, obviously a little too well.

Can you tell me more about that? Everyone gets one? Or did you find one somewhere and use it to call the room?

This is one thing that Disney completely excels with. I don't remember whether it was a cruise thread or a group on that "other" site we're not allowed to mention here, but someone said that on a different cruise line, to communicate between your parties you had to buy the wireless plans and then connect your own cell phone to their network to talk to your cabin mates. On DCL each cabin is equipped with two "wave" phones which are essentially cell phones that work on the ship. They are coded to your stateroom and you get charged $250 if you lose one, but you can call from the phone to the room or from phone to phone, and it's all at no charge.

You know it's special when it takes forever to get it. :sad2:

I had already waited five minutes for my panini.

 Boy, she really was hungry!

Actually that's normal for her for a lunch. She's always much more hungry than me.

I had read a sign that said you should never put ketchup on a hotdog.

I do.

So. pbbbtttt.

I like mine with mustard and onions, but she likes ketchup and mayo. It's the Chicago folks who say it should never have ketchup. I'm not a fan of ketchup so I don't care for it, but I don't hold it against folks who like it.

I do see. Not quite sure why you pointed it out.
Just for info? Or because it was far? Or?

Mostly for info, in case someone else wants to book a private tour. One of the tour companies suggested that Fran should just walk to the loading location. There is no way she could walk all that way.

I'd try that.

It was good!

Oh, no!!!!!!!! I just did!!! I highlighted the text and clicked "Quote"! Sorry!

:sad2:

Sure! Why not?

You mean this?
316E54W6BEL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

I guess so....I had to google it to find out what the siphon part meant,

That looks amazing! I so want.

I suspected as much after our lunch. I am also partial to lemon desserts.

I think I would, too.

Yes lemon > maple pumpkin

Alison was glad she wore a dress an not pants as she feared that she would pop the pant's button, sending it caroming across the restaurant.

Actually I only own a couple pairs of pants with buttons and zippers. Most are elastic waist pants for that exact reason. I do not like to be tied to certain size waistline. However, when I do wear those types of pants, I usually get in trouble because I forget about the zipper and walk around half the day with it open.

No way! Wow! That's service!

Yeah, and we didn't even ask him, he did it all on his own!

That's so sad you were at Remy and too full :( Everything looks so yummy!

It was very sad. I will be sure never to do that again. Remember how good I was that day at Epcot when we had dinner at V&A's that night? I needed to have tha diligence!

All caught up again! Looks like a fun tour of the island, and Remy looks really yummy!

Thanks! I'm glad you are able to stay caught up!

Day 6

Today I woke up at 5:30AM. I checked the map on the TV and the ship was headed in a direction that I wouldn't be able to see the sunrise from our verandah, so I crawled back in bed and tried to sleep. I was starving and I can never sleep on an empty stomach, so I got my Mickey Rice Krispy treat they gave me at the DVC member gathering and ate the ears off.

I tried again, but sleep just wasn't happening. Around quarter to seven, I put on my pool cover up and went out on the verandah to take pictures of us sailing in.

That doesn't look good!

The little fort on the island from where we docked was cool.

Then the ship started to turn around! Maybe I was going to get my sunrise!

Everything seemed promising until that storm cell came in and doused us. It also hit just as the sun was starting to peek over the hills. By the time it left, the sun was up.

We planned on having breakfast in Royal Court right when they opened, since i missed it yesterday. Fran asked me to wake her up at 7:20. That came pretty quickly and we got dressed and ready to go. Now what were we doing up so early you ask? Well after everything I told you about Disney excursions not being Handicapped accessible the day before, imagine our surprise when we found one similar to able bodied persons excursions, only this one had the word “easy” in front of it. This particular one was open to people using mobility assistive devices and their immediate cabin guests. Awesome! We had a meeting time of 8:45AM so we needed to get going.

She was prodding me to get out the door saying we were late. Then when we got to breakfast the place wasn't even open yet! They still had 5 minutes to go.

We were seated as soon as they opened.

Fran and I ordered two coffees so that I could drink hers when mine ran out. I'm like that in the mornings. And since it doesn't cost extra on the cruise ship, why not have enough? We told them we had somewhere to be at 8:45 and they took our orders right away. We both got V8 for our veggie serving of the day. The pastry tray came by, and I grabbed a berry filled one.

She ordered a bagel and cream cheese.

And a side of bacon, but you would have thought she said a side of pig with the portion they brought her. (It looked bigger in real life)

I got the Eggs Benedict and gave her half.

We ended up leaving a bunch, mostly bacon, though I couldn't finish my bennie or the sausage.

We went up to D-Lounge and checked in for our excursion. We were there plenty early so we sat and played with our tablets while waiting. It was there that we encountered the most stupid and obnoxious ladies, mother, daughter and her about 10ish year old son. I can't even explain what made them so annoying, probably the fact that they never shut up. They were from Missoura, I know because they kept comparing everything. “Well we don't have ______ like that in Missoura.” But I don't think these two had ever set foot outside their hometown much less their own state. They were newbie cruisers, and I have no problem with that, but their conversations were so loud and so dumb, I just wanted to scream “STAWP!!!!”. At one point they argued over whether or not the grandma had her KTTW card. After about 10 minutes of saying she didn't her daughter found it in her wallet and showed it to her. She replied, “Well that's not what I called it, they told me it was called something else.” We made a note to avoid them once at our excursion destination.

Shortly before 9AM they gathered our group and led us off the ship. We were introduced to our guide whose sole purpose was to lead us from our ship to the bus.

We left the security guarded port area, and lo and behold there was our bus.

The companions of the folks who were mobility challenged boarded the bus first and then they loaded the scooters/wheelchairs. I snapped this photo of the interior before they were loaded.

Next up, we get underway and where are we going?

Around quarter to seven, I put on my pool cover up and went out on the verandah to take pictures of us sailing in.

Now which island was this again?

That doesn't look good!

:scared1: No. No, it doesn't.

Then the ship started to turn around! Maybe I was going to get my sunrise!

:hyper:

Everything seemed promising until that storm cell came in and doused us. It also hit just as the sun was starting to peek over the hills. By the time it left, the sun was up.

Dang. Although sometimes you can get rainbows in those conditions.

This particular one was open to people using mobility assistive devices and their immediate cabin guests. Awesome!

Yay!

She was prodding me to get out the door saying we were late.

Man, talk about a role reversal.

And a side of bacon, but you would have thought she said a side of pig with the portion they brought her. (It looked bigger in real life)

Because Disney loves you and wants you to be happy.

They were newbie cruisers, and I have no problem with that, but their conversations were so loud and so dumb, I just wanted to scream “STAWP!!!!”.

:sad2: I can see why you'd want to avoid them.

Next up, we get underway and where are we going?

Starbucks? :confused3:rotfl2:

I hate to be a broken record, but we still need to get our stuff out of the old house! I don't have time for that stuff!

Records skip. You scoot. Practically the same.

I've already forgotten what we were talking about. Plus too lazy to go back and look it up!

 How about we lest this one die a quiet death.

It's pretty neat. It doesn't have as many of the cool features I like in MS Word, but for simple TRs and journaling it works just fine.

Guess I'll find out soon.

And they said nothing could sink the Titanic.

Just an ice cube.

I loved the beach as a kid. As an adult I mostly looked at it from restaurants and bars. In Dec of 2015, I went out into the ocean at Castaway Cay. I decided that I like it better from the bar.

Well, that explains it. I thought maybe you'd learned that on some studio tour.... I hadn't realized the studio came to you!

Never saw the entire movie, must do it someday.

I may have seen it... a few times...

When I went to Bubba Gump Shrimp, while I was waiting for my dinner, the waiter asked if I wanted to play a trivia game.
Questions like "Name all the presidents he meets" or "How many bottles of Dr. Pepper did he drink" (15 by the way).
I got them all right.

Nice perk! I really am impressed.

I like mine with mustard and onions, but she likes ketchup and mayo. It's the Chicago folks who say it should never have ketchup. I'm not a fan of ketchup so I don't care for it, but I don't hold it against folks who like it.

I like mine with mustard, ketchup, relish, pickles, onions (fried or raw depending on my mood)

Mostly for info, in case someone else wants to book a private tour. One of the tour companies suggested that Fran should just walk to the loading location. There is no way she could walk all that way

Ah. And, yeah. That'd be a bit of a trek.

I guess so....I had to google it to find out what the siphon part meant,

I actually owned one for a brief shining moment.
Brought home, charged it, filled it.... and it didn't work.
Back to the store it went.

Yes lemon > maple pumpkin

lemon > almost everything.

However, when I do wear those types of pants, I usually get in trouble because I forget about the zipper and walk around half the day with it open.

:lmao:

Today I woke up at 5:30AM

Too early! Go back to bed!

so I crawled back in bed and tried to sleep

I'm glad you listened.

I got my Mickey Rice Krispy treat they gave me at the DVC member gathering and ate the ears off.

To which Mickey replied. "What?"

That doesn't look good!

No. No it doesn't.

Moist.

The little fort on the island from where we docked was cool.

::yes:: Would fit right in on a POTC movie.

Everything seemed promising until that storm cell came in and doused us.

Rude.

It also hit just as the sun was starting to peek over the hills. By the time it left, the sun was up.

Jerk storm. Never go there again.

Fran asked me to wake her up at 7:20.

What were you doing up so early?

Now what were we doing up so early you ask?

Yes I did!

She was prodding me to get out the door saying we were late.

Quite the change from the day before.

Fran and I ordered two coffees so that I could drink hers when mine ran out. I'm like that in the mornings. And since it doesn't cost extra on the cruise ship, why not have enough?

Could you not simply ask for two cups of coffee?
Or is it just easier to say yes when the waiter asks if you both want coffee?

And a side of bacon, but you would have thought she said a side of pig with the portion they brought her. (It looked bigger in real life)

Actually, it looks pretty big.

I got the Eggs Benedict and gave her half.

This I would never do.
You try to take half my Bennie and you're gonna pull away a hand with a fork sticking out of it.

It was there that we encountered the most stupid and obnoxious ladies, mother, daughter and her about 10ish year old son. I can't even explain what made them so annoying, probably the fact that they never shut up. They were from Missoura, I know because they kept comparing everything. “Well we don't have ______ like that in Missoura.”

 Oh, well. Guess they were just excited.
Some folk seem to think that they're conversations are so scintillating that everyone will want to hear.

At one point they argued over whether or not the grandma had her KTTW card. After about 10 minutes of saying she didn't her daughter found it in her wallet and showed it to her. She replied, “Well that's not what I called it, they told me it was called something else.”

See? Scintillating.

We made a note to avoid them once at our excursion destination.

Probably a good call for your own mental health.

We left the security guarded port area, and lo and behold there was our bus.

Thank goodness you had a guide!!!!

Next up, we get underway and where are we going?

I got this.

I'm going to say.... on an excursion.

Yes! Rocked that one.

Sounds like Fran was excited about the excursion :) looking forward to hearing what it was :)

Those people would have annoyed us too. I have very little patience for annoying people.

Mom does that with coffee too, those coffee cups are sooooo small.

I am totally opposite of you with the ocean. If I see water I have such an itch to be swimming! I love love love the water

That looked like a heavy shower coming your way this morning.
Breakfast looked delicious. Now I'm hungry!

Shame about those people from Missoura. Hope you managed to avoid them.
Look forward to seeing where you got to. Awesome there was an excursion that Fran could go to.

Today I woke up at 5:30AM.
Well, that really isn't a bad night's sleep for you on a cruise.

She was prodding me to get out the door saying we were late.
Wow! I don't know what this excursion was, but Fran must have really been excited about it. Isn't it usually the other way around with you trying to prod her out the door?

And a side of bacon, but you would have thought she said a side of pig with the portion they brought her. (It looked bigger in real life)
Ahhh... life is good.

I can't even explain what made them so annoying, probably the fact that they never shut up
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: That'll do it.

Oooh Cliffhanger!

I'm glad to have company at Remy!

Jill in CO

I better get on the next chapter!

Now which island was this again?

This is St. Thomas/St. John. I don't remember which one we actually docked at, but they supposedly have tons of shopping for things like designer handbags and perfume. :crazy2:

:scared1: No. No, it doesn't.

Luckily it passed quickly.

Dang. Although sometimes you can get rainbows in those conditions.

We weren't that lucky. :sad2:

Man, talk about a role reversal.

I know! Huh?

Because Disney loves you and wants you to be happy.

Of course they do. How better to show the love than bacon.

:sad2: I can see why you'd want to avoid them.

Yeah, we were successful for the most part, and then never saw them for the rest of the cruise!

Starbucks? :confused3:rotfl2:

:lmao: Cause we need to go to a tropical island to find one of those!
