The Lasseter Effect: DCA Upgrades and Other Great News

well, i HEARD that they plan to take out the entire paradise pier and making a new design, but now that Toy Story Midway Maddness is being built, i dont think they plan to tear it down...

I would really love it if DCA was expanded, like a even better backlot with better rides and such. The parking lot behind DCA should be razed and moved somewhere else. Thats what i would do. Build another parking structure somewhere else!

I kind of agree with you. BUT Mickey's Philharmonic is WONDERFUL!!!! Went to WDW for the first time last year, and that was the only attraction that I really wished they would bring out here. Sure I liked Mission to Mars and Test Track, but over all this was my pick for best family attraction. It is so Disney and the 3-D was so great! I really think that Honey I Shrunk the Audience is more out dated than Muppets, so that would be my pick for a replacement. I just don't know if it is big enough for the stage and screen of Philharmonic. It was huge. Anyways, time will tell. :tinker:

Dang, I loved Muppets. Couldn't they simply add Philharmagic as another/additional attraction w/out getting rid of one of the few truly "family friendly" attractions at DCA? What's down where Capt. EO used to be? I don't know, that bummed me out!

And, it's so very nice to know that I'm not the only one who was disgusted with them putting the Astro Blasters on the ground! I belonged up on top of the Terrace! It was so very cool, particularly when I was little, to be way up there! In space, like you were supposed to feel. And where they put it, well, to put it bluntly, it sucks as far as people flow!

I agree the Honey I Shrunk the Audience is soo old. However, the muppets are timeless.

ok I know alot of people didnt like rocket rods and I know they broke down all the time...but I guess I was lucky because it never broke down when I was riding it and I loved it...especially right in the front seat...i kinda miss it...as far as mickeys philharmagic..I for one cant wait...and it is a "family friendly" attraction...I know disney has something to do with muppets but I never could bring myself to associate muppets with disney and disney characters..I went and saw it on my last trip and it was cute but I wont ever go back...now mickeys philharmagic is a totally different story...I'll go every time Im there :goodvibes and I totally agree about HISTA...that is way outdated...does anyone even go in there anymore???

We just went on it for the first time last March.

Well, first time for my DDs and the first time for DH and me in 10 years.

It may be dated, but we still loved it!

I'd like to see them rotate the different 3D movies in the HISTA theater. From Captain EO, Magic Journeys and HISTA. The Muppet Movie would be tough to integrate it into the mix as it uses a lot of the theater for special effects.

- Building a new hotel at DL, and demolishing the DLH and PP Hotel.

Having never been a People Mover fan, I much preferred the Rocket Rods - as did all four of my kids. However, Rocket Rods was ill-conceived for the current track design. In general I heartily agree that what was done to TomorrowLand was a travesty. It is so good to see it recovering now under new leadership.

I love the people mover..so relaxing, and i also love Rocket Rods..It never did broke down when i rode it on a few times..that was a cool ride!!! :thumbsup2
But i agree, Tomorrowland needs some new makeovers. I think where the Astro Blasters are situated is ridicoulous where it is and cause traffic havoc in the area!! :sad2:
