The large number of new Aulani resale contracts??

Looks like somebody is dumping 1500 CCV at one time in multiple use years.
Yep. It does look like maybe some C&D letters were sent out. This same broker (www.dvcresalemarket.com) also just rebranded and is now flying under the name Keyholder Vacations, as of this morning, I believe. Take that for what you will. If there were some legal letter sent out maybe it was also to get resale companies to stop using the names "Disney" and "DVC" which Disney owns in to order minimize confusing in the market place. Also it does seem like--for reasons not disclosed--that there's an effort to create a new identity there. Side note: I wouldn't object to some CCV dumping as I'd like to see the overall price dip a little bit there, as that's one place I'd like to own.

Are all those CCV’s gone already?
The board sponsor is rolling out their "Certified Hot" price this week or next. So these super high prices will be discounted to just high prices next week

Edit: Its "Red Hot Deals" and starts Monday the 20th. Explains the upward price creep they've had lately, now everything will be "10% below average" that the scale has moved

I wonder if DVC Store will go by their original name: The TimeShare Store.
(They used to be the board sponsor for a long time.)

For a long time now, it has amazed me that the board sponsor remains the board sponsor.
High Prices + High Commission = High Revenue
High Revenue = Advertising $ + Search engine optimization = Higher website traffic
Higher Website Traffic = More Sales = More Money (See 'High Prices + High Commission' equation above)

We aren't the the target audience.
They want someone who simply sees its lower than Disney direct. - "Look you can save up to 75% from what Disney has.
Ideally also someone that will finance at 18%

I had the same thought this morning when I saw the email

I didn’t read the email as them re-branding, just that they have a new owner / parent company. Seems to me that they have just been bought out and become part of a bigger organisation. Still using the same trading name.

I think it’s a stretch to assume that this, or the new contracts that appeared for CCV has anything to do with enforcement action by DVC. But you never know!

It's hard to know what's behind the scenes here. But I'm guessing that most legal offices--especially as Disney in some sense allowed this problem to exist for years--might be allowing for a name change to be implemented gradually. Two names for a while and later just one. But again, who knows. All of these things together (dumping of AUL and other contracts, shifting of owners, gradual shifting of names, etc.) suggests some big problems that likely they weren't fully in control of. And again, like you said, at this point, you never know.

Id love to sell with them, but not buy with them. Their prices dont bother me much but I just never considering offering with them due to the starting price being too high for my liking as a buyer.

The email containing the rebranding or the email containing the cease and desist?

Yeah listen who knows what's going on behind the scenes but this reminded me of something one of the Fidelity managers told me last year. This was when I had to fight with them about compensation when my BCV sellers used points that the contract said was supposed to be there. Long story short after things began to get resolved I ended up speaking to a nice younger woman who had just been brought to Fidelity as a contract manager...I want to say maybe even from board sponsor but I could be making that up.

Regardless she knew I was on these boards letting people know about my issues with them (that's when they started to take my issue seriously btw) and she wanted to make sure I was happy with the resolution and if I could let the board know. I was...and I did. But in our conversation on the phone she told me in a veiled way, to watch out for some kind of future collaboration between Fidelity and Disney...it was vague and cryptic and she didn't seem too concerned if I mentioned it but she said how Fidelity and Disney were in some sort of conversation about something "big". Nothing really materialized so I forgot all about it but this morning's email and all the anti-commercial renter sentiment has now brought that up in my mind again. Fidelity is the largest of the DVC resellers I believe no? And they never branded themselves as related to Disney in any way whereas almost every other big reseller has. I'm probably grasping at straws with this vague recollection about some random connection mentioned in passing over a year ago...but...if anything materializes, you heard it here first! lol

Only want to add that they do say "DVC’s Recommended Resale Broker" on the DVC portion on their page, top center. But I agree, they don't advertise nearly as much as anyone else (sponsoring boards, podcasts, FB groups, etc.) But I also think its because DVC is only a part of their sales as they do most other timeshare companies.

I think if you call dvc about needing to sell back, they recommend fidelity?
Their website says something similar as well.

I also read that the dvc store was the first dvc reseller. They used to be the board sponsor.

Yes even a year ago that was true. I remember her mentioning that fact or something to that effect...I'm lucky I can remember what I ate for breakfast...but she definitely hinted at something new and big. Could have been just stories she was telling me or could have had some merit but it fizzled out...or maybe something is coming soon? Time will tell

I really, really like a lot of the people under their employ, so no shade to them.

But the well has been a bit poisoned and they are not the most magnanimous operation. They are just the best advertised.

A lot of people are shunted towards monera financing and it’s been odd to see how the sentiment has even shifted on the board. The number one rule was not to finance. Finance was the curse word and now there seems to be a collective shrug in the broader community.
